Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all His miracles which our fathers told us of...but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
Judges 6:13; Exodus 33:14

With broken heart and bewildered mind, many believers have asked; "Why has all this befallen us?" "Where be all Thy miracles?"

There seemed no hope for Gideon, but there was. When he built an altar and called it Jehovah-Shalom, the Lord said, "Peace be unto thee, thou shalt not die."

Thank God for His presence—the promise of peace and preservation this very day.
—Arnot McIntee

Loved, when our sky is clouded o'er,
and days of sorrow press us sore;
Still we will trust Him evermore,
for we are loved.

I Am His, and He Is Mine
(Click to hear music)

Loved with everlasting love, led by grace that love to know;
Gracious Spirit from above, Thou hast taught me it is so!
O this full and perfect peace! O this transport all divine!
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.
In a love which cannot cease, I am His, and He is mine.

Heav'n above is softer blue, Earth around is sweeter green!
Something lives in every hue Christless eyes have never seen;
Birds with gladder songs o'erflow, flowers with deeper beauties shine,
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.
Since I know, as I now know, I am His, and He is mine.

Things that once were wild alarms cannot now disturb my rest;
Closed in everlasting arms, pillowed on the loving breast.
O to lie forever here, doubt and care and self resign,
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.
While He whispers in my ear, I am His, and He is mine.

His forever, only His; Who the Lord and me shall part?
Ah, with what a rest of bliss Christ can fill the loving heart!
Heav'n and earth may fade and flee, firstborn light in gloom decline;
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.
But while God and I shall be, I am His, and He is mine.

Good morning everyone.  I posted late last night so not much to say this morning other than thank you Pat for the devotional today.

It is going to be very warm here today.  My friend is coming over after coffee to help me with a computer project.  I always enjoy spending time with him as we work on the computers.

This is choir practice night.  Last week we had a short practice as the room was very warm and I fear it will be the same tonight as there is no Wednesday evening activities at the church this week.  They will begin next week.

Hope everyone has a nice day, I plan on doing so.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I made it through the night with only one pain pill. Face on the left side is swollen, but I enjoyed a soft breakfast of grits and cheese, and plan to take soup for lunch. I hope to work the full day today.

Must go - y'all have a blessed day.

By the way, it's certainly good to have our new posters! Welcome to your new home, friends.

Grace
The grace of God blesses me abundantly.

I am so grateful for my blessings--for wisdom and love, peace and forgiveness, health and well-being. Yet even more than these, I am grateful for grace. God's grace is that added blessing that renews my faith and confirms the truth of God's goodness in my life and throughout the world.

There may be times when I need to open my mind's eye to the gifts of wisdom and life and abundance in order to see them at work. Then I realize that the grace of God is evident in my very existence, in the existence of my friends and loved ones, and in the existence of this world we call home.

The grace of God blesses me at all times and in all ways. It is the foundation for every blessing in my life. I give thanks to God for the blessings that the love of God gives me so abundantly.

Many of you have already seen the news  about this area. Last night around 7:30 there wa a earthquake about 90 miles northwest of Eureka, There were Tsunami warnings for a little bit. It was 7.0 in magnitude. I didn't even know there was a Tsunami warning until a friend from down south called to see if I was alright. She said it had been on TV there for at least an hour, Well it wasn't on the station I was watching.

The earthquake sure didn't shake me much I have been in much worse quakes. It did make everything sway alot, When Icalled Willa she said they barely felt it there at her place, her house is built on a concrete slab, but it sure shook the double wide trailer next door to her.

Hey Al I bet you felt it pretty good too Huh?

Jane did you feel it?

Marilyn, I'm not Jane, but I didn't feel anything here.  My sister called from Portland and it was flashing all over the news there.  I changed it to a local station and finally got the news about a tsunami warning.

A beautiful day this morning.  I see rain is forcast for later in the week and throught the weekend.  I guess I'd better get some outdoor stuff done today.

One of my boys is has been limping all yesterday.  I might take him in today.  He doesn't seem to be in much pain, but doesn't like me to touch his foot either.  (Marilyn, thanks for sending me the "dog mom" thing.  I loved it...so true too)  They are both such a blessing to me.  The are 9 months today.  It seems I've had them longer.

Karma, I sure hope your little one is better now.

Al Moak

Hi y'all (mimicking Ruth Ann).  Yes, we sure did feel the quake here.  I was sitting in the livingroom watching the ballgame when, all of a sudden, the chair, the room, et al - were swaying around and rocking (and I'm not at all a rock fan).  No damage, though, and I didn't even hear about the tsunami warning.  Marbeth didn't hear about it either, though she was watching another channel on the tv in the bedroom.  I had estimated between 5.5 and 6.0, but Marilyn says 7.0 - wow!  Anyway, it certainly was the heaviest we've experienced in many years.  We weren't here during the Loma Prieta quake, though, and of course it was even heavier.  But it's beautiful sun/blue sky this AM.  God is our refuge - always.

Etta Sue

Marilyn ~ My husband did no fixing of anything in the house or the car.  So I did it or hired it done.  Jerry spoiled me.  He could fix about anything.  Now I am having to re-train myself in fixing or hiring again.

Kyle ~ My step-daughter, her husband and son lives at Groton...hubby is in the Navy.  Good to see you here.

Karma ~ Glad to see little Kristi is getting results.  Hope this method works without the enemas all the time.

Janet ~ It seems that as soon as school is out, we tend to have a rash of fatality accidents around here.  Two girls were killed north of me on a country road...speedometer stopped at 80 mph!  Another boy was killed on a motorcycle south of me.  So sad.  A second of the wrong choice can take your life.

Marilyn ~ I haven't heard about the earthquake here since I was gone last evening and no TV yet today.  Glad you weren't effected.

The musical You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown was great.  Charlie Brown, Sally Brown, Lucy, Shroeder, Linus and Snooper were the characters.  Weird to see a man play a dog but he was great...great dancer, too.  The stage was decorated beautifully with a 360° turning stage in the middle.  Really a funny, great play.

Ivalou just left.  Seems she is going to get her eye's examined and a perm.  Going to call today to make appointments.  Me?  I need to make a list of things I need to do before the Weiner Roast next Monday night and plan on what days to do them.  I also have a great-nephews wedding to go to Saturday afternoon.  Busy schedule but not near as busy as Janet and Marilyn!!  I need lessons!

Good Morning from....at last....a Sunny and dry Vancouver Island ;D

Thanks for the nice devotionals, Pat & Marilyn.  Glad you are posting them again Marilyn.  That one was especially special.

Have fed the cats, given lettuce to silence my noisy Canary and going to shop with Wendy in a bit..We go to a Farmer's Market on Wed. before her Physio treatment.  Lots of fresh produce and the clerks are always happy and fun.  Must be the fresh air that gives everyone a lift.

Would be nice if you and your wife came to the island, Pastor Al.  I think that you and my daughter would have lots of laughs together and Amanda and your wife could talk about art.  I would listen.

Yes, loved the bright colors, Etta Sue.  My, you are a busy person.  Like Janet.  Boggles the mind.

We had a brief warning about a tsunami here on the island.  Glad it was only a brief one!  Where is there to go on an island....glub, glub.  Refuse to worry about things that defy logic.  God will be around if it happens.

Read a couple of 'Church Bulletins' that made me smile:

The peacemaking meeting scheduled for today has been canceled due to a conflict.

The sermons this morning: "Jesus Walks on the Water."  The sermon
tonight: "Searching for Jesus."

;D ;D ;D

It's the little things in life....

Pleasant Day all and God Bless.

I wonder who wrote this about me??? ;D
This is what Nita was talking about.

BEFORE I WAS A DOG MOM........

Before I was a Dog Mom: I made and ate hot meals unmolested. I had unstained, unfurred clothes. I had quiet conversations on the phone, even if the doorbell rang.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I slept as late as I wanted And never worried about how late I got to bed or if I could get into my bed.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I cleaned my house every day. I never tripped over toys, stuffies, chewies Or invited the neighbor's dog over to play.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I didn't worry if my plants, cleansers, plastic bags, toilet paper, soap or deodorant were poisonous or dangerous.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I had never been peed on Pooped on Drooled on Chewed on or pinched by puppy teeth.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I had complete control of my thoughts, my body and mind. I slept all night without sharing the covers or pillow.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I never looked into big, soulful eyes and cried. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop a hurt. I never knew something so furry and four-legged could affect my heart so deeply.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I had never held a sleeping puppy just because I couldn't put it down. I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was well. I didn't know how warm it feels inside to feed a hungry puppy. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Dog Mom: I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being A Dog Mom

Al Moak

I'm glad to see that the "dog days of summer" have begun.

karmat

Hmm, being a dog mom sounds alot like being a mom of a toddler . . . .

Sonifo

Just popping in to say, HI!

Still pretty busy with everything. Hope all is well with you all.

Janet

I'm a little late getting here today.  I went and swam 5/8 mile; then went to the county health office to have blood drawn.  I have been taking the Cholest-Off for about two months and want to see if it is reducing my bad cholesterol.

My friend Pat called and wants to take me to lunch for my birthday, since I will be away on that day.  That's so nice!  I am really enjoying our friendship.  Most of my friends are too busy with their own "stuff" to have free time to do things like this.

Larry, thanks for your kind words.  I think the little job helping Maxine and Oscar will be a blessing, and I feel good knowing that Pat can fill in for me when we go on little or big trips.  We are leaving in the morning, will be gone for 5 or 6 days.

No, Etta Sue, we won't be scuba diving at the reunion, but afterwards will go on up near Hastings Nebraska to a place called Sandy Channel to dive.  On the way, we will go to the Rolling Hills Wildlife Park near Salina, Kansas.  I have been wanting to take Abby there.  I go pick her up this afternoon; her parents are leaving on Friday for their Alaska cruise.

Alma, good to see you stick your head in the door to greet us.  I pray your depression will lift and you will soon see the blue sky and God's sunbeams of love will warm your soul.  (((hugs)))

Ruth Ann, you remind me of a Timex watch---you take a licking and keep on ticking!!  Bless your heart, you are an inspiration to me, and I love you!  :-*

I must get my clothes, etc. carried to the trailer.  Darrel is going to turn it around, park it on grass and be ready for take-off; because heavy thunderstorms are predicted for tonight again.  If we get them, we can't pull the heavy trailer down our muddy road without either making huge deep ruts or getting stuck.  So we want to be prepared.

Later, Peeps!

Carol

We would so like to get our trailer out and go someplace but doc appointments and next week niece & family arrive along with a young man who is their son's friend - a graduation in Wyoming & then all leave from here to go back to Texas.  It will be wild around here for a while.  Don is fishing with his good friend, a retired pastor.  He thought he should stay home because Qwest (Qworst I say) is supposed to be here this morning.  So far, the telephone deal they said was active, is not. And, it is 10 A.M.  - what is morning to people?

Janet:  Such sad news on the car crashes - people never slow down so they could have stopped  - have fun with your trailer trip & I hope you can get away.

Larry:  There was no picture of that crazy hairdo!  Never.

Etta Sue:  Tell Ivalou to stay out of the wind with her fresh perm.  Been there.

Liz:  We could always learn more of Canadian history - being from Seattle, I did learn some years ago in school and I try to keep up on the news.  Here is wishing your pain away & that you get a different doctor & also write a letter stating the reasons why you change doctors.

Chris, you really shouldn't write so much.  You may get writer's cramp or something. :)

I'm heading home from work in a minute.  I have a lot I want to do this evening, so I may or may not be back.  Take care, and be good!

Sonifo

Pat, do you run Photoworks?

Nita

Al, I don't see any "dog days of summer" aound here.  You must be waaaay South of me. :)  We're gonna have rain and wind tomorrow......then rain on into the weekend.   How about your area?

Tyson, my sweet canine boy, has an injury to his right front leg.  Vet said probably from jumping when he wasn't ready.  She gave us an anti-inflamatory med to take for a few days.

Hi, Alma.  Sounds like you're pretty busy.  Sometimes that's good. :)  Blessings, hon.

Gotta go do my Grand Jury thing tomorrow again.  I like it.  I only have to go once a week for a month.  Don't even have to go early.  I have to be in the jury room at 1:20 pm.

I have no other news, so guess I'll hush and get to some other forums. :) Nita

Janet

I am just stopping by before I go to bed to say farewell for a while.  Not sure how long we will be gone, about a week, I think.

So you guys hold the fort, don't take any wooden nickels, and stay well, ya hear??  And may God bless each one of you.  I love you all!
