Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

We are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.
2 Corinthians 2:17

The word "corrupt" is better translated as "peddle."

Many, Paul affirms, make religion a business; they preach for profit. Remove the salaries and profit from religious work and many would drop out.

Paul states his motives are sincere and desiring to honor God, as sacrificial and not self-serving.

Are ours?

I ask That Thou bestow on me;
The will and strength to do some task,
For growth of love for Thee.

This poem is what I need for today, Pat.  Thanks for your devotional.

Marilyn, yes...I am still on yahoo.  Are you?  I can always go there and find my e-mail no matter where I am.  It is easier for me and I have set up the "front page" with all the things I like to check out.  I bet I have 40 eleven dozen newspaper headlines to scan.  For my Christmas present in Feb I bought me a flat screen which has TV connection.  Now I can watch TV and be on the computer at the same time if I want.  I am not too much of a TV person though.

I am anxious to hear from Janet.

Time for Bible study and prayer.  Everyone have a great & blessed day looking for someone with whom to share the love of our LORD!

My husband always has had a problem with paying for singings and such. Not so much a salaried preacher - we need to make provision for the Lord's workers - but more like singers and such.  He always says "How can you charge for the Gospel?"

Excellent devotion this morning!

Getting ready for vacation next week, shopping, shopping, and more shopping!  Isn't God good!

We will be going to Destin, Florida, where the shark killed the young girl the other day.  But we will be swimming in the pool!

Hope every one has a blessed day today.

Samantha :D

PS  I think we may be joining the church we have been attending for the past few months!  We seem to fit in like a glove.  God is soooo good!

Good morning Early Birds and those who stayed up late!  ;)  It was so nice to see several who had been among the missing for a while come in and post.  Kathy, I have missed you!  Fast Eddie, good to see you!  I hope both of you come in more often---Nita and Jane, I always enjoy your posts, too.  Hi, Karma!  Thanks for all you do to help Pat.  Hey, Nards!  You feeling better today?  (I hope.)

REPORT:  Dr. Cone agrees with Dr. Plumlee that Beth is losing strength continually; and has no reflexes left in her left ankle.  He looked at the recent X-rays of her lower back, nothing of note  there, a little movement of one vertebrae, but not enough to cause these problems.  She told him about the wierd sensations she is having in her neck:  felling as though something is touching it even when there isn't, feeling like her neck is very enlarged, etc.  He said these sensations are significant, and tell him that once again, neurofibromas are growing inside her spinal column in the neck area.  :'(  She was already scheduled for a brain MRI on July 12, so they added a cervical MRI at that same time.  He said there are neurofibromas growing on nearly every nerve  in her neck and that some of them must be growing rapidly; this would be the cause of loss of function in her legs and feet.  Most likely, this will mean even more surgery not too far down the line.  In the meantime, he wants her to get with the physical therapy, as, if she doesn't keep at it, she soon will not be able to get around even with the walker.  He said in complicated cases like hers, he constantly needs new information.  MRIs are very expensive, so we thank God for Medicare and Medigap insurance.  It seems there is good news very seldom for our Beth...........Continued prayers, please!  Thanks so much.

Abby had a wonderful day with my friend Pat, and Pat said she enjoyed having her, too.  That was so much easier on her and us, as she would NOT have enjoyed all the hours of riding in the car and sitting in Dr. Cone's office.  Thank God for friends!

Time to go swim, I think that might perk me up.  At least I hope it will.  Talk to you all later.

The Great Physician (#20050629)
by John Morris, Ph.D.
"But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick" (Matthew 9:12).
It almost goes without saying that a person who is seriously ill would do anything to regain health. But the sad fact is, few people really pay attention to their health until they are threatened with its loss.

On the other hand, testimonies without number have been chronicled which relate an individual's refusal to acknowledge the claims of Christ until he or she had been stricken with personal problems or physical illness. "You've got to be on your back before you will look up," so the saying goes. But what does the Great Physician have to offer the one whose health seems to be strong from an outward perspective?

Instead of being well, however, the Bible says that everyone is born into this world with a dreadful disease in our souls called sin. "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), "and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death" (James 1:15). The sin disease is most tragic when we do not feel it and do not know we have it. "Because thou sayest, I . . . have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked" (Revelation 3:17). Jesus Christ is the only One who can heal us, "Neither is there salvation in any other" (Acts 4:12). And just as He never sent anyone away who came to Him on earth for physical healing (Matthew 12:15), so "him that cometh to me [i.e., Christ] I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37), when he comes seeking salvation.

Certainly one of the most important steps in this process of being healed of our sin sickness is recognizing our desperate need for healing. When we say, "be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee" (Psalm 41:4), He will respond with forgiveness, grace, and healing. JDM

Hello all!!!!

Janet and Beth, please know we are praying for you.

Sarah, where do you work.  Sounds kinda aggravating, but always do your best and take pride in your work and at the end of the day, you will be the happy one.

Our phone line at work is cut again >|( so my Internet will be limited at home.  See what kind of things happen when you ask God to help you "grow" the fruits of the Spirit?  <ie -- self-control, spending less time on the NET when I should be doing other stuff . . .>  heheheh.  Oh well.  If I'm scarce, that's why.

Have a great Wednesday.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Pat's cousin and her husband came about 1 pm yesterday and we had a very nice visit with them.  Pat had fixed a delicious supper and then we visited somemore.  This morning she fixed a big breakfast and about 9:30 they hit the road to go to the North Georgia mountains.  Pat and I both feel sort of exhausted.  This is not because they were difficult guests in anyway, but I think it is from having to be "on".  As Etta Sue said we have the same plan for the rest of the day, i.e., no plan and we are working that plan.  :)

I did make a quick trip up to the computer Learning Center to be sure some websites we want to feature at our next PC User Group meeting hadn't been blocked by the county (who controls the Internet fast access line for the Senior Center and thus for our Learning Center.)  Fortunately all of the websites are allowed so we shouldn't have any trouble.  We will be presenting the program on July 8th.  I had met to stop at the library to pick up a book that is being held for me but forgot to do so.

Janet, so sorry to read of the new problems for Beth.  She has had to endure so much.

Sarah, are you working as a waitress this summer?  If so, I know that is hard work and a very stressful job.  It sounds like you are a good employee with a poor supervisor.  I hope you get something resolved so your work experience is more enjoyable for you.

Pat

Hi Everyone...

Great to see you all.

Sarah, what a lovely comment for your Dad to hear about his daughter.  That's so nice.

Did you know --

If someone posts a picture of Tobago or Rome or sumtin, a lot of times we will get an ad at the top for that place.  When you click on it, you can see lots more pretty pictures. :)

It is a really slow day at work, today, so I'm just cruisin' around.

Sarah

Sorry, Karma......I can't share your pizza.  I don't like "just pepperoni" pizza.  I could send two of my grandkids though. :)
I like mine with sausage and olives and onions and green peppers and mushrooms and well......just lots of stuff....more veggies than meat.

OK! Ok!  I'll bring my own.  What time shall we be there?   You did want us there.......didn't you?  I could run by and pick up Jane and you can look for us about supper time.  Heh.......let's get Sarah too.   I HAVE AN IDEA!!  Let's all go to Karma and Nards for pizza tonight.

A sunny day here.  It's been really nice, but sort of windy this afternoon.  I had energy this morning, but I'm taking my cue from Etta Sue and Larry......I'm planning nothing for the rest of the day and acting on it.

I was brushing Rocko...the smallest pup. (he's around 10 lbs I think)  As I brushed him he snuggled up next to me and kept getting his little head nearer and nearer to mine.  He isn't crazy over being brushed, because sometimes there are pieces of brush or leaves caught in his coat.  He likes being close, but being close also offers me the chance to check him over pretty good.   I was thinking, wondering, if I'm that way with God.  I know He loves me too much to leave anything I've picked up in the world on me.  He picks it off, and it hurts. So I snuggle closer and closer for His comfort and the assurance that it's HE doing it all.  And I belong to Him.  I think that's how Rocko feels about me.  God is so good.

I'm clicking Google ads. Actually, I've found some pretty good links, and bookmarked them.

blessings from over here on the west coast.  Nita

Al Moak

She can have the pepperoni - I want chicken.  You absolutely must be a good worker, Sarah.

Nita

Does that mean we'll see you are Karma's tonight, Al?  You will bring the chicken pizza.....right?  Oh, and would you stop somewhere and pick a half case of diet soda?  I'm bringing gallon jars of Cyrstal Light lemonade.  ;D

JudyB

Great devotional, but, I have a question.

What does this mean?

QuoteThe word "corrupt" is better translated as "peddle."

I understrand meddle and corrupt but "peddle"?

We have had a wonderful day today.  The hot humid weather seems to have lifted.  We will sleep well tonight.  Fortunately the lady who the girls stay with lives close to the lake and they are able to swim for a good portion of the day.

Keep Bonnie in your prayers, she has been sick since Saturday, and has been to the doctor.  It will take a bit for her to recover.

We are in the midst of inventory.  John often talks about "brain dead" jobs.  Well he ain't seen nothing till he starts counting stock!  Well it will all be over about the 11th!

Well there is weeding to do as well as grass cutting. So bye for now
