JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

The God of all grace.
1 Peter 5:10

Grace is God's holy love in action, bringing daily development to our lives, strengthening us as we anticipate our eternal destiny.

Grace wends its way all along the heavenly road: saves us (1 Pet. 1:10); sustains and maintains us (1 Pet. 4:10), and certifies to ground, guide and guard us on to eternal glory.

What marvelous grace that, in spite of our failures, He will fulfill in us and through us His power, conforming us, and controlling us so that His purposes will be fulfilled to the praise of His Glory.

Magnify thy Grace, O Lord.
—Les Rainey

O God of matchless grace,
we sing unto Thy name!
We stand accepted in the place
that none but Christ could claim.
Our willing hearts have heard Thy voice,
And in Thy mercy we rejoice!

Marvelous Grace
(Click to hear music)

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured,
there where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Chorus:
Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
threaten the soul with infinite loss;
grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Chorus:
Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
brighter than snow you may be today.

Chorus:
Grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
grace, grace, God's grace,
grace that is greater than all our sin!

Good evening all.   I don't have anything to say. haha

Oh yes.......Marilyn, I haven't heard.  Did you get the mobile you were interested in?

Jane, did you get your teddy bears?

Now, I don't have anything to say.     :)

karmat

It's just good to "hear your voice" nita!!!

Hello all!  Sorry to be so scarce the past day or two; we have been running first one way and then another.

I have an exciting prospect before me.  Tonight, I met with the fledgling dialysis support group.  They have only been formed for a few months (like 3 meetings) so it is still a small group.  They are going to work with the local dialysis center to see if I can't go in once or twice a month and treat the caregivers and patients to facials and what not.  Nothing to be gained fianancially on my part, as i won't be "peddling" or "pushing" Mary Kay on any one.  I just want to make a moment of their time that isn't real "pleasant" a bit more enjoyable.

Pat, as I talked to the group, I thought of you.  I may be pm'ing you for more insight, if you don't mind.

I did take some pictures of the fireworks last night.  they are still on the camera though.

A bit of excitement for our fourth.  My little sister manages a gas station and racing store in Maggie Valley, NC.  My mom works in the racing store and helps in the gas station some.  Yesterday (well, Monday), the gas station was the "prime" spot to park as it was just across the road from where the fireworks would be shot from.  (In the mountains, if the fireworks aren't shot from the top of a mountain, you can't see them very far away . . .).  Now, I don't know if some people just don't think, are deliberately rude, or what, but most of the day was spent asking people not to park in the parking lot as it was blocking the driveways and the pumps.  Duh.

By the evening, my mom kept noticing one man in particular waving cars over and parking them.  Assuming he was with the chamber of commerce, she went over and asked him not to do that as cars parking over 7000 gallon gas tanks at a fireworks display isn't real safe (or smart) and it was blocking the way.  He continued to do it.  One of the other employees went and asked the police to ask a few of the cars to move (they wouldn't because that man -- who was not with the chamber, but was just a visitor to the town, had told them they could park there).  At that point, one of the police comes over to talk to my mom.

Now, in a small town, the cops know all the business owners and especially those that server coffee and stuff and are open all night (Kasey's store is the only gas station open 24/7).  The cop had just gotten the words to mom out of his mouth, "It seems like all some people want to do is argue," when this visitor comes over to the cop and my mom, sees that the car next to them is parked in a handicap spot without a handicap tag, yells at the cop and mom saying, "I DEMAND that this car be moved, and I given this spot."  He proceeds to tell them that he is a disabled vet (more about this later) adn that that car is parked illegally adn it needs to be moved because what right did my mom have to ask him to move when there was a car parked illegally, blah blah blahl

The cop looks at the guy and says, very calmly, I demand that you lower your voice and show some respect.  That incensed the guy further, and he starts rattling about his rights again.  The cop says, "i'll tell you what your rights are.  You have the right ot go to jail.  Now, settle down, and go back ot your car."  DId the smart man do that.  Nope.

The cop asks my mom if she would like him removed, and she said it really didn't matter as long as he went back ot his car and stayed in it, but if the cop felt he had been disrepected, he could do whatever he wished.  The cop said, "I want him off the property.  Sir, get in your car and LEAVE."  Did the smart man do that?  Nope.  He continued to spout his "rights."  (BTW, the handicap spot was unenforceable because it was not a "legal" space).  The officer gave him one more chance to walk away.  Did the smart man do that?  Nope.  Cuffed, carred and hauled to the magistrate.

The officer missed the fireworks. :(

This morning (Yesterday, Tuesday, whatever) the cop came in and told my little sister that the guy argued all the way to the magistrate's office despite attempts to let him cool off.  He kept demanding special priviliges because he was a disabled vet (yet he could walk, easily, and had no visible disabilities), and the cop informed him that he was giving disabled vets a bad name, please be quiet.

This guy then yelled at the magistrate.   duh.  Big duh.  Bail was set at $500, which the guy couldn't get because his family was still at the fireworks display, and he couldn't get ahold of them.  And yes, alcohol was apparently involved.  Mr. Smart Man spent the night in jail.

So, I know that was a long story with no purpose other than telling it.  I wanted to take pics or video of the whole thing, but Bernard wouldn't let me.  Soemthing about poor taste.  heheheh

So, have a nice day, and be nice to those who are in the position to put you in jail. :)

JudyB

Grace Grace God's grace.

Yes God gives us grace to be forgiven and accept that forgiveness.  He gives us the grace to forgive others.  Yes we do need His grace, to be able to continue.

Grace and Mercy seem to go hand in hand too don't they!

Have a good night folks.  May God give you the needed rest to face your work day tomorrow.

A case of "where is a cop when you need them?" (Yea!!!) Justice was served to the loud-mouth.  Vet?  Perhaps he was like the man caught wearing The Medal Of Honor in a parade....not having earned it.

According to the news article, you can buy the medals, but you cannot wear them if they were not awarded to you nor can you sell them.

Too bad the officer had to miss the fireworks.....well not quite....evidently there was enough fireworks at the police station to satisfy...they cost the loud-mouth $500.

A WORSHIP-HUNGRY HEART
by Max Lucado

People on a plane and people on a pew have a lot in common.

All are on a journey. Most are well-behaved and presentable. Some
doze, and others gaze out the window. For many, the mark of a good
flight and the mark of a good worship assembly are the same. "Nice,"
we like to say. "It was a nice flight/It was a nice worship service."

A few, however, are not content with nice. They long for something
more. The boy who just passed me did. I heard him before I saw him. I
was already in my seat when he asked, "Will they really let me meet
the pilot?" The question floated into the cockpit, causing the pilot
to lean out.

"Well, come on in."

With a nod from his mom, the youngster entered the cockpit's world of
controls and gauges and emerged minutes later with eyes wide. "Wow!"
he exclaimed. "I'm so glad to be on this plane!"

No one else's face showed such wonder. I studied the faces of the
other passengers but found no such enthusiasm. I mostly saw
contentment: travelers content to be on the plane, content to be
closer to their destination, content to be out of the airport,
content to sit and stare and say little.

Do you see why I say that people on a plane and people on a pew have
a lot in common? Enter a church sanctuary and look at the faces.
Content to be there. Content to sit and look straight ahead and leave
when the service is over. "Seek and you will find," Jesus promised
(Matt. 7:7). And since a nice service is what we seek, a nice service
is usually what we find.

A few, however, seek more. A few come with the childlike enthusiasm
of the boy. And those few leave as he did, wide-eyed with the wonder
of having stood in the presence of the pilot himself

Nita: no I didn't get the little trailer they rented it to someone else. But that is ok with me God has a better place for me he just hasn't revealed it yet. I am calling about another  today.

Not much new here, the fog was rather wet last night and with all the dust on my car I really need to get out there and wash the windows before I go to Tai Chi class and work.

Karma, I enjoyed the story of Mr. Loud Mouth and glad he got what he deserved.  Some people just never seem to "get it."  Your offer to do that special service at the dialysis center is wonderful.  Having driven a dear lady to dialysis 3 days a week for 3 1/2 years, I can say that will be really appreciated.  The waiting hours get really long for the family/caregivers.  God bless your giving heart!

I went and swam 3/4 mile today!  It really felt good!  Maybe one of these days I will swim a whole mile!  ;D

I have to get ready to go to a Red Hat brunch we are having in one of our ladies' back yard.  And this time, I don't even have to bring any food!  ;D

Beth said they really worked her at therapy today.  I said "good!" because she really needs it.

Talk atcha later!

Hi everyone.  We are awaiting the arrival of apparently a lot of rain from the tropical storm.  It is suppose to be here sometime around noon (the last I heard) and they already ahve flood warnings out for the Atlanta area.  We are in no danger of flooding where we live but there are areas of Atlanta that are prone to it.

Our former neighbors, who we have known since the first day we moved to Georgia over 25 years ago, are coming over for lunch today.  This is their last week in Georgia as next Tuesday they leave to take up residence in Springfield, Ohio.  They are in their mid-80s and neither one of them is in really good physical health.  Well over a year ago they contracted to have a home built in a retirement community in Springfield but it has not even been started yet as the developer said he had to have 4 units sold before he would start building.  However, they have some apartments and they are moving into one of those until their house is built.  We are very sorry to see them leave here but they have no family in the area and they need to be with family, which they will have in Springfield as this is where they came from.

Karmat, that was some experience that your mother and sister had.  What an obnoxious person they encountered.  Maybe he had time to reflect on his actions while sitting in jail overnight.

Marilyn, maybe this new potential home will be the right one for you.  I know you would like to get something settled.

Pat, was glad to see you were feeling up to attending the funeral.  Isn't it sad that attending a funeral is the only thing that brings family members together.

Ruth Ann, it sounds like you are melting away!  :)  Congratulations and keep up the good work.  I hope you get good news concerning your ankle. I know what you mean about the endless doctor visits.

Janet, we have a whole variety of "Dollar" stores in our area.  Have you ever been in a "Dollar Tree" store.  I like that one the best of all I have been in.

Alma, I don't think I had seen the Darrell Scott testimony before.  He sure hits the nail on the head.  Unfortunately it is not the thing in government to accept responsibility as it is always someone else's fault.

Jane, hope you have been able to find the plastic bags for the teddy bears.

It is good to see everyone posting.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Sonifo

Wow, Karma! What a night!  Some people just can't keep their mouth shut.

I have aerobics in about an hour.  I better head out.  have a good day all!

Good Morning!!

Karma~That's quite a story!  It is possible that guy is a "disabled vet" but the problem is with his mind and emotions.  At any rate, he was obviously totally out of control and it is good the officer was on hand to see that control was restored.

Yup, Nita, I came home with the whole back seat of my car full of stuffed animals!

I went to my friend's home and she had a large (30 gallon) bag full of stuffed animals then said "we need to go to my sister's house."  Sis had a huge box filled to overflowing with teddy bears and all sorts and sizes of other stuffed animals.  Then they said "Mom has a box full also." So we went to Mom's and retrieved a box of the same size from her!  These three ladies are just thrilled that they can be a part of bringing blessing to so many in remote Mexico.  In fact, one of the ladies placed her hand on the boxes and prayed that God would use each item to bring blessing to "the babies" in Mexico.  She told me she had tried to give them to other agencies around here and each had told her they had all they could use.  When she heard of what my daughter was doing in Mexico, she was overjoyed and "just knew" this is the right place to send them!

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday evening and got the last 4 Space Bags they had!  I probably don't need all four, but I just don't know ... Next comes the fun of sealing and compressing everything into manageable sizes to fit into a suitcase.  It is possible we will have to leave some with our friends in Sacramento, to transport to Mexico when they go to visit Joy and John in September.

Anyway, this is getting really exciting. In just a week I will set off on this adventure ... I said to the teddy bears (and other assorted animals) to get ready for a long trip.  "And lots of brown arms to hug you" added my friend.   :D

I thought I would go to a meeting at my neighbor's this morning, but was informed last night that she isn't feeling well and the meeting is cancelled.  Okay, then that means I have other stuff that needs my attention so I'd best get into it.

Y'all take care and I'll be back d'rectly!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

I am so late today that I won't respond to everyone.

Janet ~ Would you send your easy recipe for coleslaw in email?  BTW, do meet up with Soni and family...you won't regret it!

Karma ~ Sounds like alcohol is what Mr. Loud Mouth does NOT need.  If he were sober, he is probably a nice guy.

I took my car to Pendleton to get it a grease and oil change.  10 mile.  Then decided to go to Noblesville to do some shopping...17 miles.  Ivalou called me and wanted to know if I wanted to go out to eat....duh!  7 miles back home.  Then we went out to eat....in Pendleton.  10 miles and back home 10 miles.  So I got my driving time in today.

Janet

I surely will, Etta Sue!  You will probably never buy coleslaw again!  ;)

The Red Hat Brunch was really nice, that lady has such a lovely yard, with a huge pond, four colors of lillies and many colorful fish, and lots of pretty flowers, too.  I took photos.  ;D

After I got home, I took all my glass "pretties" out of the front window, washed the window and all the glass items, vacuumed, then cleaned the utility bath really well.  Do you EVER get the whole house shining at once?  :-\

We are having a fellowship thing at church tonight, as tomorrow is pastor's wife's birthday and Friday is their anniversary.  So I am making devilled eggs to take for that.

Time to go get those shells off those eggs!
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

karmat

Janet, I can't seem to get even part of the house shining at any givrn time (was that an amen, nards?).

Al Moak

I didn't hear him.  Nards is innocent.

Marilyn

Home early today had vacuumed the living room and washed one load of clothes. Karma you are not alone. I very rarely get even one room looking shining or whatever. I hate to dust so that only gets done occassionally.

Bible study tonight we are doing 1 Corinthians I think tonight we are in Chapter 3.

Later Gators.

Janet, my wife has really enjoyed the fact that the bi-weekly houseclearner leaves our whole house clean and shining.  It stays in pretty good shape between her visits.

mercychild

Haha,  I wish I had someone come to clean the house for me.  I actually enjoy cleaning, but with Mercy, it's been a lot more difficult.  I prefer to get a good long time to get everything done, uninterrupted.  However, I'm sure you all know that's just not possible with a three month old baby.  I took her swimming today.  She LOVES the water!  I also started a scrapbook tonight, and my sister and I are getting together with one other young mom every week to do some work on the scrapbooks.

Pat - I hope you're feeling better soon.  I had the "flu" for all nine months of my pregnancy!
Etta Sue - I thought I'd let you know how nice it is that you always try to take time to respond to everyone.  Very thoughtful.
Karma - that's quite a story.  It's too bad that some people are really like that and seem to have a knack for causing trouble.
Marilyn - I hope you find something soon, and I'm sure that God has something for you.

Well, I came home later than usual tonight.  I haven't been on at all today.  I have a part-time job that I can do from my home.  This is a great blessing, as my husband's business has hit a really dry "rut" and we're not sure when we'll get paid again.  I tell you, if you want to learn faith, start your own home-based business as the only income!  It can definitely be very stressful, especially when we're just beginning our second year of marriage!  So I like to come here and read all the stories.  It really helps brighten up my day, remind me to have faith that the Lord will provide, and take my mind of myself.  Well, I'd better get this little girl ready for bed.  God bless you all.  See you all tomorrow.

Jen.

mercychild

By the way,  I just posted some photos of my new daughter!  Hope you enjoy them.  She really is a gem.  God bless.

Karma:   An interesting story.

Earlier in the day I went to a local farm to get some fresh strawberries but not only did I get the berries I came home with a number of other items as well. Their is nothing better than fresh produce.

Presently I am trying to watch the baseball game so with the television in the other room I am getting lots of additional exercise.  The Blue Jays won their game yaaaaaaaaaaa.

Pat:  I would think you Remember Helen Fleury - a school bus driver - she and her husband Bob have just celebrated 50 years of marriage. The children had a surprise party for them but Bob was unaware but Helen picked up on a clue and she was right.

Jen:  I am on my way to have a peak at your photo's

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Today was a "problems come outta the woodwork" kind of day! I hurried to a little barbecue restaurant to pick up their Wednesday special - they close at 8 pm and I was there at 10 till 8. (Whew!)

At any rate, this day is over - and I'm thinking of the song "Now the Day is Over" - it's time to let this day rest in God's hands and prepare to rest myself.

Tomorrow's all sorts of appointments - early to work (hopefully by 7 am), then doppler scan on my veins at 12:30, surgeon appt at 1:15, AND xrays and visit to orthopedic surgeon about my right knee at 3:45. I told Leslie I'm not at all certain what time I'll get home tomorrow.

At any rate, thanks if you have a moment to pray that God's Will is done in all this, and that I'll give Him all the glory for the outcome...

G'nite, all.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Nita

I'm just popping again.  Pat, that song is so beautiful.  God's Grace!  Where would I be without it?

Ruth Ann.....God's grace be with you all day tomorrow.

Marilyn, I won't say I'm sorry you didn't get the little mobile home.  We know that if you didn't get it, it wasn't the Lord's plan for you.  It's so good to know we can trust our Savior and Master to want the very best for us.

I'm having some back pain again.  If anyone thinks to, I'd appreciate your prayers.

Now I have to go look at baby pictures. :)

Nita

Me again.  Has anyone noticed that some of the pictures in the gallaries are getting mixed up?  I mean, I was just looking at MercyChild's new baby pictures, and below were other pictures(thumbnails) in her gallery.  Or so I thought.  Then I opened one, and it showed it was Pat Scott's photo..  Same thing with Etta Sue.  She had some in hers that weren't really hers??

When you click to see a thumbnail, and get the bigger print.....below the image are more thumbnails.  Arent these supposed to be the user's gallery photo's..ie, Mercychild or Etta sue?      Hmmmmmm.....

Pat

Nita, it might have been because someone else was uploadiing just as you were clicking on the thumbnails.  That sometimes happens.

I've just been now and it's fine.

Also, there are "Random" photos that are changed each time you click on Refresh and maybe you were looking at those and also there's the "Last Uploads" button.

All possibilities
