Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. In Thy presence is fulness of joy.
Exodus 33:14; Psalm 16:11

Graham Faulkner, a missionary from New Zealand to Guatemala, was once asked if it was dangerous to serve the Lord in that land. To which he replied, "Safety is not in the absence of danger, but in the presence of the Lord".

Wherever we serve the Lord today, how wonderful it is to know His two-fold promise, My presence shall go with thee and in His presence there is fulness of joy.

May we know both today!
—Arnot McIntee

Leave to His sov'reign sway,
to choose and to command;
So shalt thou, wondering, own His way;
how wise, strong His hand.

Our Gallery is being upgraded in the morning so our site may be down for awhile.

Just a quick note, especially for those who may have registered recently.

Across the top of the page, you will notice google ads.  These ads are not endorsed or selected by Christian Photographers, but they do help finance the site.  Every time you click on one, the site gets a few pennies (to several pennies) per click.  Please do not feel obligated to click on them all, but glance up occassionally, and see what you can find.  There will be some that are not worth your time, but i have found some neat little treasures up there.

Most "leave" this site, so if you are using Firefox, I recommend you right click and select "Open in New Tab" and if you are using some other "thing" right click and select "Open in New Window."  Soemtimes I do this for all of them, finish reading what I am reading on this site, then go look at the other four.

Please don't think I'm the preacher begging for money.  It's not like that.  I just htought that there might be soem that didn't realize that by following those ads, CP does benefit.

Pat, I like the devotion today.  As such, peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of Jesus.  In our world, things seem so topsy turvy sometimes.  I'm glad that I can hide in Jesus and take refuge from the craziness.

mercychild

That was such a tragic happening in London yesterday.  I've been praying that people seek the Lord through such a disaster.  Mercy was super cranky yesterday, and when we were leaving my parents' house in the evening, I discovered she had two teeth looking like they were going to come through!  (I discovered this when she threw her head back and opened her mouth for a particularly loud scream).  She isn't even four months old yet!  So we got her home, put on some Baby Orajel, gave her some Tempra, and she went to bed.  She slept for 8 hours (big sigh or relief from mom).  She talks herself to sleep.  She also doesn't nap for more than 20 mins at a time during the day.  However, I dont' mind that when she sleeps well at night.  She really is usually a happy baby.  But the teething is never a comfortable stage for the poor babies.

Marilyn - have you found a house yet?  You had mentioned that you were going to call a couple more places a few days ago, did anything materialize out of that?

Karmat - how old is your daughter?  Can't say I've heard any kids yodel, lol.

Pat - that was a wonderful devotion this morning.  Hope all the updates go well.

Well, I have to get going, my daughter just woke up (after a 15 minute nap) and I have an appointment this morning.  God bless you all.

Jen.

Good Morning, Thank you Karma for reminding us that  CP doesn't support some of those sites at the top of the pages. I have gleaned some good info from some of those sites and also found some sites that were definitely not my cup of tea.

Thank you Pat for the devotional this morning.

Jen No I have not found a place yet. I still have 2 months to get moved but I am trying to get  to another place before August when the University students return to this area to take up residence in all the available housing.

Judy Mc, and JudyB good to see both of you back.

I think we missed Bonnie's birthday yesterday. Bonnie if you look in Happy Birthday a day late.

Going to get my nails done this afternoon after I leave Fay's place. I have to re caulk  a portion of her kitchen sink after I get the noon dishes done.

I sure feels good to get up in the mornings pain free and know that if I do have any pain I can set up my own traction unit.

No google ads up there today.

Marilyn, pain free is always good!

Jen, Kristi is 5 months old  (today!).  We have thought a couple of times that she was getting teeth, and I think her gums are bothering her somewhat, but no "toofers" yet.  Travis (now 3 1/2) had two teeth by four months old, and everything up to his 3 year molars by his second birthday.   He never had any pain or discomfort, they just popped through.  That was nice.  Glad to hear the baby sleeps well at night.  That is great!

As per yodeling -- She does the baby goos and coos, but then she'll get on a syllable and raise its pitch several times then go on to another one.  It is quite funny.  I gotta get her on tape. Sometimes she'll do it for 10 or 15 minutes at a time, then drift off to sleep.  Kinda like she is singing herself to sleep.

Pat

Marilyn, you don't see the Google ads?

I see them.  Anyone else not see them?

I can see the google ads & try to check at least a few each and every time I am on here.

A very calming message to everyone.

Trying to keep ahead of some kind of allergy headaches that have plagued me for some time this year.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We are having a beautiful day with sun and mild humidity and temperature for now.  Think they predict some thunderstorms later in the day.

I have a busy day today.  I have already been to the men's coffee at the local senior center and as soon as Pat gets back from her physical therapy treatment we will head to the county senior center for the Computer Learning Center Volunteer Meeting and Luncheon.  Following that I have a meeting with the PC User Group planning committee and at 1 pm we have our monthly PC User Group meeting.

This month it is a special interest group type meeting and another man and I are presenting the program.  I am going to discuss the SeniorNet website (as I have had involvement with it almost from the beginning and find that most Learning Center folks are really not familar with the site and seldom visit it.  The other man will present some of his favorite websites that we hope will be of interest to the group and, if time permits, I have a few other favorite websites to present.

Then I will come home and take a nap as know I will be worn out.  I really shouldn't volunteer to make presentations as that takes a lot of energy and that is something that is of short supply for me anymore.  However, I know I will enjoy doing it but will be glad when it isn't hanging over me anymore.  I probably won't teach again for that reason unless I team teach again.

Karmat, you view the Google ads here on CP as I do.  I just open each one in a new window and look at those I am interested in and quickly close any that are not appealing to me.  The problem is just remembering to do this each day so a reminder every few days is good to have.

Marilyn, it is nice to read that you are having pain free days.  Your plan of action must be working.

Jen, I looked at your baby's pictures and what a cute child.  It seems that they grow up very quickly.

Pat, that is a very fine devotional this morning.

Janet, we have found the secret with our car is not to get in a hurry as if it won't start you can wait ten minutes and then it seems to start.  I am going to try to avoid setting up situations where someone would be waiting for me and can't be reached.  This usually would just involve my daughter at the gas station so in the future will have her stop by where I am and then follow me.  If the car won't start I can go with her and she can bring me back.  I had never heard of the Flylady website.  I gave it a quick overview.

Sue, it is nice you could spend that special time with your father.  Those are special times and I am sure it met a lot to your father to be able to spend that time wtih you.  On my last birthday my son took a day off from work and spent the whole day with me.  He couldn't have given me a better present and I will never forget it and hope that can become a tradition.  I don't need any material gifts and his time is precious and that really met a lot to me.

Al, I am a big Braves fan and our team is very exciting this year.  We have 4 rookie players that have had to be called up due to injuries.  One joined the team last night and got a three run home run in his first game as a major league player.  His parents were ecstatic and he was also.  It was also before a home crowd and they kept clapping for him until he made a trip from the dugout to acknowledge their cheers.  It was a very nice moment and apparently he is a very nice young man.  He is from one of the highschools here in the county in which I live.

JudyB, it is nice to read that you are enjoying your job so much.  I hear so many people saying they are not enjoying their work due to the pressures being exerted.

Pat

Thanks everyone for viewing the photos in our gallery.

Please if you go and would let the photographer know you like it or enjoyed looking at them, please leave a comment under the photo.  The photographer can then come back and go to their gallery and click on "Last Comments" and see them all and it's so very, very encouraging to see the comments under the photos.

I was just there and I see that Steven has posted a glorious photo from a scaffolding at our Canadian Parliament buildings in Ottawa.  He says he was working up there!  Imagine thinking of taking your camera to work!  Great!

No Pat I do not see the google ads.I am using IE and usually they are there just not today.

Also inm the gallery this morning, I can't comment because the comment section is not there either, On the main screen I am having to highlight part of the text in order to read it. Is that something new the black area?

Right now, the google ads at the top are all for cameras and accessories; some good buys there, too, if you're in the market for camera stuff.

I am having a really down day, can't stop crying.  Beth is going downhill so fast, and I don't know how to help her.  I pray we get some answers from her appointments in Amarillo on Tuesday.  Prayers appreciated.  Today when I took her to therapy, she could NOT pick her foot up enough to step up on the curb.  I had to pick them up for her, then her toes would stick with every step.  If this continues, she will be back in the wheelchair very soon.  :'(

Judy Mc.........it was I who missed you.  Glad to have you back.  :)

Larry, please don't overdo it today with your teaching.  I know you are a very good teacher and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others, but we want to keep you around for a long time to come!  ((hugs)) l

Yes, it does Soni.

It never stopped working for me.

Clive is a very knowledgable man though and he'll try to help us get this fixed.    He's gone offline now though for the evening as he's in England.

You say you went and deleted it.  What did you delete?

Yes, that works for me too as I edited my comment under Steven's photo.

LOL @ Pat!  I wonder why it didn't work for me. I clicked but nothing happened.

Janet

Thanks for all the hugs, I really needed those today.  I can take a lot, but sometimes Beth's condition just gets the best of me.  You know how moms are..........

God blew me a kiss today!  ;D So I know that was His hug, too.  I have been wanting one of those big exercise balls, in fact, just this morning I asked Kristi where I could get one, and she told me about a website...........anyway, I went by to see my painting buddy, Dee, and she had bought me one at her neighbor's garage sale!  The lady had sat on it one time, was scared she might fall and break something, so she sold it for $7.50!!  It cost $50.00 plus shipping!  I didn't remember telling Dee I wanted one, but she remembered. So it cheered me up to know both God and my friend Dee were thinking about me today!  ;D  Isn't He good?   All the time!

I also got a commission painting to do!  But I will not charge for this one, because it is for my pastor's wife.  :)

Remember............click, click, click on those Google ads!  ;D

Pat

Soni, I didn't think the edit was working for me as there was no obvious click or screen movement but it was there for me to type.

I hope it works for you...

Janet, I want one of those big balls!  I've been wanting one for a long time now but I'm really glad you got it today.

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Larry Hanna

Janet, you deserve the cheering up as know you are carrying a very large burden and do so much for Beth and others.  I know what type of ball you are referring to as they have them at the "Y" and when I was able to do aerobic exercise we would work with them some.  Hope you derive big benefits from having the ball.  So sorry to see of the continued decline in Beth's condition.

We had a good day at the Senior Center and the presentation that I did with the other gentleman was very well received.  I think we will be having more special interest groups when we will ask those attending to bring one or two of their favorite websites to share.  I was glad when the presentation was over and was able to rest for awhile when I got home.

Ruth

A first for me but Pat kicked me out.

Janet, I understand and empathize. Please know that I love all of you and pray for you.

The good news is that I don't have a blood clot in either leg. The right leg is swollen about 8 inches larger than left, but ortho doc says no knee repair until everything else is under control. No broken bones in right knee.

There's also encouraging news about left foot. The break is still in same position as 2 weeks ago - no movement. So, although no calcifying has begun yet, he says we have "a chance" of getting it to heal without the surgery. I have a brand new cast.

Then, to take gratitude even further, my crutches were first used by the boys way back in the 70s. The rubber tips and other rubber thingys were old and cracked and I found a medical supply place that not only sold me the things I needed, but came out to the truck, put them on for me for only $7.10, and then measured to be certain the crutches are the right length for this short lady.

Much to be grateful for. Isn't God good!

Y'all take care.

Ruth, I'm so glad you were blessed today, and hope the blessings continue to come your way!

We use those balls in our step aerobics class, and at the gym I do sit-ups on them, too.  Darrel said he was glad I got it, because he's been thinking about getting one.  (Sure surprised me!)

Pat, don't forget that I will not be here on Monday to do Tuesday's NEM.  Will be in Amarillo with Beth and Darrel.  Darrel's surgery is Tuesday, and he is pretty worried.  I told him there is no such thing as minor surgery when it is YOUR body. :-\

If I can, I will have the NEM ready to move, not sure if I will have time.

My pastor's wife sent me this link, if you have time, go look at this little girl's work!  It is totally amazing!  And her testimony is wonderful, too.   http://www.artakiane.com/home.htm
