Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this. So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity and that you WILL see him again. Much love to you. Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

We're Winning

"Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not."
(Numbers 14:9)

Thousands of years ago, God told the children of Israel to go up and occupy the land that He had given them. He told them to take it, by force and without fear, from the ungodly ones who were dwelling there.

He's still saying that today. God is still trying to get us, as His people, to take the good land He's given us. He's still trying to get us to use the power He's given us to run the wicked one out.

You see, this earth doesn't belong to the devil. It belongs to God (Ps. 24:1). The devil has just moved in and taken control of things because we believers haven't stopped him.

That is our job, you know. Jesus took Satan's legal rights away from him on Resurrection morning. Then Jesus put us in charge of enforcing Satan's defeat. The Scripture says that Jesus is going to sit at the right hand of the Father until His enemies are made His footstool (Heb. 10:12-13). Do you know what that means? It means Jesus is waiting on us to kick the devil and his crew out of the affairs of this earth. He's waiting on us to carry out the victory He won at Calvary and occupy this land.

But just like Israel had to rise up physically to take the land of Canaan, you and I have to rise up in the Spirit if we're going to establish the dominion of God in the earth. We're going to have to get moving. We can't do it sitting down!

Listen, you may not know it, but we're at war. We're in a spiritual battle--and we're winning. In fact, if you realized what was already established in the spirit world, you'd laugh at the devil every time he showed his face.

So today if the devil has control of an area of your life or your church or your community, rise up in the Spirit through faith and prayer and the Word and start taking that territory back. Don't be afraid. His defense is departed from him. He has no weapon that can stand against you.

The Lord is with you. Rise up in the Name of Jesus and take back the land!

WOW! Janet that is one great devotional. The one I have for today cannot in no way compare to the one you have posted.

I am going to Jan's after I go to Fay's today, I owe Jan 1 1/2 hours because she didn't have any more for me to do on Thursday, today I am going to help her bake a cake and water her yard.

I pray that you all will have a great day.

Etta Sue are you Crocheting another shopping bag purse? I haven't started any more projects yet, I have been trying to wait until I can get this move over with and settle down again. I haven't even done my mending or ironing. I only have two things to iron and two to mend. Just can't seem to get those projects done either.

Pat how bad was your water damage?

Judy B I sure would like to have a nice garden growing, maybe next year.

Karma how is little Kristi doing and what did the doctor have to say?

Sonja You are really keeping yourself busy, Where do you find the time to do everything you are doing? Don't burn yourself out.

Larry I am praying for Pat.

Where is Chris and Margit? I receive photos from them but I don't see Chris posting those wonderful devotionals.

Nita how are those Rascally puppies doing? Are the chewing everything in sight?

Dangerous Counterfeits (#20050730)
by Henry Morris, Ph.D.
"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good" (I Thessalonians 5:21).
Human beings are very gullible, and counterfeiting is a profitable occupation for many deceivers. But spiritual counterfeits are the most dangerous of all, and at times the most difficult to detect. There are many false gods, and this is the subject of the very first of the true God's Ten Commandments: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" (Exodus 20:3). We are warned also to "Beware of false prophets" (Matthew 7:15) and "false Christs" (Matthew 24:24). There are those who preach "another Jesus" (II Corinthians 11:4), and many who come preaching "another gospel" (Galatians 1:6) rather than the true saving gospel of Christ.

There are also counterfeit Christians who are "false brethren" (II Corinthians 11:26) as well as "false teachers" (II Peter 2:1-2) and "false apostles" (II Corinthians 11:13). They preach "peace; when there is no peace" (Jeremiah 6:14), and some will even "shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:24). Satan himself is the greatest counterfeiter, for he "deceiveth the whole world" (Revelation 12:9) in his attempt to become a counterfeit god. Thus we are warned to "try the spirits whether they are of God" (I John 4:1) and to "prove all things":--to test them by God's Word.

In this scientific age, it is especially important that we not be deceived by "science falsely so called" (I Timothy 6:20). So-called evolutionary "science" is not supported by any real scientific evidence and is contrary both to common sense and the Bible. Many professing Christians have "erred concerning the faith" because of evolution (I Timothy 6:21) which has been made the pseudo-scientific rationale for a multitude of false philosophies. May God help us to hold fast only to that which is good! HMM

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone. Janet, a very powerful devotional this morning. Thanks.

Pat got along extremely well last evening and after resting maybe 45 minutes she got up and later fixed hamburgers for our supper. Then we listened to a book on tape and played games all evening. She is up this morning and seems to be feeling pretty good. She plans to go to the library a little later today.

We woke up to a rainy and rather cool morning. It is currently 72 degrees and is still raining. The man I pick up to take to the cafe each morning bought us all a breakfast plate at the cafe today. It was very nice. I asked him why he was doing that and he said he wanted to because we were all so nice to him. He is a very nice person. He is just 51 years old and we are all a lot older. He helps bring our average age for our group down. :)

Sue, I hope your interview on Monday goes very well.

Not much new here. I am not feeling very energetic today and didn't feel real good last evening. Nothing serious just one of those tired spells. Fortunately nothing pressing this weekend. It is approaching the beginning of the month and so I have some webpage work to do for the church but other than that my schedule is pretty clear.

Hope everyone will have a nice weekend.

Larry - I truly thank our Father for taking care of Pat. And you. I was concerned about too long a day for you at the hospital. Thank the Lord! He does all things well! I'm thankful that He doesn't have to wait on us to get things done! In fact, He says, "All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, 'What have You done?'" (Dan. 4:35) He gets things done, whether we will or not!

Etta Sue

Larry ~ So glad that the procedure is over for Pat. Now for the waiting. But it is assuring that they don't think anything is wrong. And yes, we are enjoying the cooler weather also.

Al ~ Happy birthday early...for Tuesday. I love Chinese buffets. I ate alone Thursday and had Chinese Buffet. Very good and tasty! And I always eat too much.

Liz ~ I know those headaches can get you down. Then hot weather and headaches can really get you down. Now that it is cooler for you, hopefully you will get back to your painting.

Sue ~ The Gaither's are from around here....up the road about 15-20 miles. They have a beautiful resource center where you can purchase handmade craft items, a restaurant, and of course, all their cassettes, CD's and videos. There is a recording studio on the grounds but we didn't go in there because they were recording. Bill and Gloria frequent the center when are they are home.

Janet ~ That sounds like a delicious meal provided by the Grant Mennonite Church. And Homemade Ice Cream to boot! Great devotion. I kept thinking about the minority getting things done for them....abortions, same sex marriages, 10 Commandments off of public places, etc. and think, we need to unite and stop that devil from getting his way!

Marilyn ~ Yes, I am crocheting another plastic purse. Making up the pattern but writing it down so if I like it, I can make another one.

Like I say, I was crocheting last evening and as quick as a snap of the fingers, my plastic 'yarn' was in the dining room, around the table, down the hall and into my utility room. INKY!!! And, of course, when I was rolling the 'yarn' back up, she chased it all the way back to my chair. Then in the middle of the night, I noticed my 'yarn' in my bedroom. Sure enough, the ball was carried into my bedroom so I rolled it back up and walked back through the hall and into the living room. My 'yarn' is on the fireplace now.

When I get caught up online, I will fix a bite to eat and then go out and mow. Ivalou mowed in 4 days...not me...it has been five days since I mowed...early enough. I don't want to mow on Sunday. But with this heavy dew we have been having, the grass is growing fast.

hi everyone! been rather busy as of late updating some scripts of mine, ill be back as soon as im done with them!

Janet

Howdy, folks! I can't decide what time it is! ;D Not my usual routine because it's Saturday. I had a wonderful long visit with one of our dear CP members, and am so thankful God gives us this site (thank you to Pat, too, of course!) where we can make friends with other Christians, and lift each other up in prayer.

I don't have much planned for today, other than attending a wedding at our church this evening, then the dinner-reception afterwards.

I'm glad you enjoyed the devotional. Etta Sue, I certainly agree that we Christians need to unite and become more vocal and more involved in the political process, if we are to keep the freedoms purchased for us at the great price of many people's lives. May God direct us in doing so.

Snapshotgal - I like that little running mouse! Is that indicative of your lifestyle?

Etta Sue - I think I heard "a bark from the ark!"

It is, of course, foggy again today. How unusual.

The Church: 100 Pianos
..that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You,
that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You
sent Me.
--John 17:21
Someone may fear that we are magnifying private religion out of all
proportion, that the "us" of the New Testament is being displaced by
a selfish "I." Has it ever occurred to you that one hundred pianos
all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other?
They are of one accord by being tuned, not to each other, but to
another standard to which each one must individually bow. So one
hundred worshippers meeting together, each one looking away to Christ,
are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were
they to become "unity" conscious and turn their eyes away from God to
strive for closer fellowship. Social religion is perfected when
private religion is purified. The body becomes stronger as its
members become healthier. The whole church of God gains when the
members that compose it begin to seek a better and a higher life.
The Pursuit of God, 90.
"Lord, let this start with me. Give me a closer walk with You today.
Then as a leader enable me to encourage others as well, individually,
so that all to whom I minister might be in harmony as we individually
are close to You. Amen."

Great devotionals, everyone. Today I was especially touched, prodded and blessed by each one.

I couldn't post here using Firefox, so had to use IE. There was no post option using the FF browser. I made it, but wanted to let anyone else know so they could try IE if they can't post with Firefox.

Today my grandson, Kyle, is 19. Poor guy. haha His dad told him he had to quit his VERY part time job and look for another for the rest of the summer, before college, if he expects his dad to help. Not the greatest birthday present. He needs to take some responsiblity, for sure. I hope he can find something for just 1 1/2 months.

Marilyn, those rascally puppies are pretty good now. When they were little, they were.....well, puppies. haha I still have a favorite pair of shoes that have parts missing and puppy chews all around. They don't do that now, but will still find things in the yard to chew on. They're always chewing on something, but not my shoes or slippers now. I try to have lots of chew toys for them, and an occasional rawhide when I'm watching closely.

Kim and I took Ty and Rocko for a long walk yesterday. We walked around the lake at a park. It was a long walk, and boy did my back and legs bother me, but as soon as I sat down in the car again, the pain left. The dogs were so good, and after a timid start for Rocko, they enjoyed themselves royally. They met other dogs, other people, and did great.

Larry, I'm so glad the procedure for Pat is over. It sounds encouraging too.

Did someone say something about homemade ice cream?? mmmmm

I finished my mowing yesterday too. Yipee!!

Now back to my lazy-in-the-sunshine day. God does things so well. Im blessed.

I've been sorta kinda busy today. I had a wonderful surprise when I returned home the other day: A pile of firewood in my front yard and two boxes of kindling on the porch! The neighbor told me the man had delivered it a couple days after I left! The last time he brought wood he told me he would not be bringing any more because he was no longer working for that lumber yard. This is truly a blessing for me since I was thinking I needed to start trying to find firewood on sale.

Well, this morning I got a wheelbarrow from my neighbor and toted all the wood around to the woodshed at the back of the house and stacked it. I even chopped some of the bigger chunks into smaller sizes while I was at it. There are some really big pieces that have knots so I may have to find someone with a chainsaw to help with them. I also have some long limbs from a tree a friend had cut down. Whoever comes with a chainsaw can cut those into stove-size pieces too.

God is so GOOD -- All the time!!

By the way, I have added more pictures to my saga of the recent two weeks, in case anyone is interested. Right Here

Hi Everyone...

Just got in from Andrew's. He phoned and asked me over for supper and it was sure good getting out.

Marilyn, the damage mostly is to the ceiling. I protected the carpet and I got most things out of the way of the dripping but it was kind of hard to realize just where the next drips were going to be.

I'll get through this though.

I'm very tired.

Must go and let Geordie in.

Pat it was good for you to get out. I am glad that you were able to salvage most of what you were sorting.

We had an awesome day today. We have enoough beans for a good feed. Also we picked swiss chard and gave it to mother. She enjoyed sitting watching while we worked weeding and picking. The yard long beans are interesting. They are long and very skinny. I picked huge zucchinis and 3 peppers. God is so good to provide for our winter needs. Pat I will try to get some down to you this weekend.

The nights are cool and sleep is easier.

That is where I am off to. Night all

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends, I was out shopping earlier today and wore myself out. So, took a HUGE long nap. Didn't want to awaken but knew I wouldn't sleep through the night otherwise. Wasn't hungry, but decided to take my blood sugar. Well, the body said whether or not I WANTED to, I must get up and eat. So I had a bit of sugar free yogurt with some fruit and a small shake of sunflower seeds (this is a recommended snack for diabetics). Now I'm full and still very tired, so am going to bed.

Certainly hope I'll be able to get to church tomorrow. On faith, I wrote the tithe check and it's in my purse ready to go.

I've read through the days I missed and want to say thanks for the good news and for hearing about your cares and concerns. Even if I can't come here often right now, as I'm able, I'm praying for you.

Thanks, y'all, for your love and prayers.
