Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

A place called Gethsemane.
Mt.  26:36

A place that is called the Pavement. . . Gabbatha.
John 19:13

A place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull.
Mt.  27:33

Gethsemane means "olive press." Here in sorrow He sweat as it were great drops of blood.

It was at Gabbatha, called the Pavement, that they "stumbled at that stumblingstone" (Rom. 9:32).

Golgotha is the place of "a skull." Here He died. The blessed result was His manifestation in resurrection life at Galilee.

He took our place in sorrow, rejection, and death to bring us resurrection life.
--Tom Steere

Thou hast been here,
Lord Jesus, but Thou art here no more;
The terror and the darkness,
the night of death are o'er;
Great captain of salvation,
Thy triumphs now we sing;
O grave, where is thy vict'ry?
O death, where is thy sting?

Here it is 2:36 am and I haven't been to bed yet.  Just feeling rough.  So I've come in to catch up on the posts.

How sorry I am, Janet.  What a horrible ending to your evening and I'm so sorry that this happened.  I, too, will be praying for Beth as I know how close you can get to an animal when you are alone.

Now I'm going to try to go and get to sleep.

I guess I over did it a bit doing the deck today with Neil and it started to rain and we both got pretty wet.  I wasn't feeling the greatest before he came but I didn't want him to know.

Talk to you tomorrow.

It's 12:15 am here, and I am just going to be now.  I was out for dinner today and then we played a game (sorta like yahtzee) for a few hours.  Anyways I gotta get up early for church so I'll see you tomorrow :)

Anthony

Good morning everyone.  I was so sorry to read Janet, about Beth's dog.  It must have been awful to discover what had happened and I trust that Beth isn't too devastated by it.  As Pat says, pet's can mean an awful lot to people, particularly if they are living on their own.

Pat, I am sorry that you are not feeling very well and I do hope that you are able to get out to church today.  Christian fellowship can be a great encouragement.

Thank you for the devotional this morning.  It's good to remember that our Lord rose again and that the Christian rises with Him in newness of life.

Have a great day everyone.

Anthony.

Thank you pat for the devotional.

I saw a churchh sign yesterday that I intended to tell you about.  "This church is on fire!  But don't call 911!"

I was talking to a dear family friend, agreat intercessor.  Jim has had many back surgeries/.  He is in a lot of pain again with his back and has been diagnosed with kidney stones.  This is a time when a pray-er needs prayer. Thank you

We are finishing last minute things to go to church.  Have a good day worshiping our Lord.

Hi everyone.  Will post this morning before it is time to go to church rather than in the late evening.  We definitely have a touch of fall in the air as it is in the 40's but very sunny.  We are not to feel any impact from Hurricane Wilma that will be going across Georgia.

Janet, I can understand the heartbreak that something like this causes .  Hope the vet will have good news for you today.  It was an accident and therefore don't beat yourself up with guilt feelings.

Teresa Dawn, glad to hear that many unions are not staying away from work for long periods of time.

Ed, young folks work on different time tables than we do.  Glad your grandson enjoyed the experience.

JudyB, the missionary your church hosted sounds like a very fine man.  It was nice you had the opportunity for some private discussion with him.  Do the missionaries in your denomination have to generate their own support?

Pat, sorry to hear that you probably overdid yesterday.  Hope you won't come down with a cold from getting wet.  Thanks for the devotional today.

Good morning or afternoon or evening to those joining us today.

Marilyn

Good Morning> Thank you Pat for the devotional.

Janet I am so sorry to hear about Beth's little dog, how devastated she must feel. I to am praying for  you both and of course the dog.

The kids didn't make it yesterday for supper so I have frozen the Manicotti until they can come. They are so busy with after school activities with the grand kids and Sarah's working and school hours. It seems their weekends are filled with soccer games and birthday parties. I didn't do the final cooking of the Manicotti before I froze it. So it will now take about 1 1/2 hours to finish.

I am so looking forward to church today. I love Sunday's when I can go to the Lord's house and receive the messages he has given to the Sunday School teacher and the Pastor. The added bonus is to sing praises and worship songs to my Father.

Well, we've begun the day by getting up!  And then even coming here!  May our Father bless every one here with a spirit of worship, awe, reverence, and praise today!  I don't even see any fog out there this morning.  We've been having rather thick fog all day every day lately.  We're close to the ocean, so I guess that's not too surprising.  Pat, I hope your construction labors don't "deck" you!

Happy Sunday to you all!

We had wonderful services at church today, and I'm REALLY looking forward to tonight, because the men who attended Promise Keepers will be sharing.  Also, at 4:30, we are to start practicing for our Christmas cantata/play.

Beth has made the difficult decision to have her little dog put down.  She did live through the night, but the vet isn't sure what her injuuries are internally and has serious doubts the leg can be fixed.  It would cost way more than Beth can afford to attempt to fix it; so she called John, and he agreed with me that it would be best to just let her go.  She still has Mieka, and one dog is more than enough.  I can tell you that I am relieved about her decision.  I promised to take her in so she can hold Miracle a while before she is sent to the Rainbow Bridge.  I assume that will be in the morning, since it is Sunday today.

Darrel got home about 11:30 last night, tired but happy.  He said he enjoyed Promise Keepers~~all except the music.  He said it was so loud he could actually feel the sound waves hitting his face!  Painful to the ears!  But the young men loved it!  To each his own, I guess.  My opinion is that louder is NOT better; and I wonder why they can't turn the volume down so it isn't painful for anyone over 40.  Just my opinion, of course.  :-\

Abby says lunch is done.....gotta go!

We have just returned from church and we had a good day.  Our pastor has just returned from Zambia and we were relieved to hear that he was kept in perfect health throughout the fortnight.  He was pleased with the way the conference went and encouraged by the native pastor's hunger for the word of God.

I was very sorry to hear from Itsbygrayce that they are going to have to evacuate.  To us in England we are just seeing the broadcasts on the TV, our prayers are with you as you experience the real thing.

We have had a minor catastrophe in England as last night there were some riots in Birmingham (next major city to where I live).  One young man was murdered.  It seems there is some racial tension there at the moment and we do trust that there will  not be more disturbances tonight.

I do trust that Pat has had a better day today.

God bless all.

Anthony.

Home from church now and had something to eat.  The kids are coming for supper tonight. Praise the Lord. Now I can eat Manicotti.

Pastor Danny finished up his series on he Day of Pentecost. The music was great too.  We had a new family come today, They are from South Africa.

Today was National Assembly of God Children's Sunday. Danny had the younger children all go forward and sit on the altar, he prayed over them and talked to them then gave each one a small candy, the audience applauded for them as they left the sanctuary to go on the Children's Church. He even had gifts for all 4 of the new babies in our church.

Anthony I am praying for your country, Birmingham in particular. I have heard that Birmingham is  in particular need of lots of prayer.

Oh Janet what a hard decision for Beth to make, I remember how I cried when I had to have Gitsie put to sleep. I was sad for so long. Please tell Beth that I am praying for her heart to heal.

Larry I don't have the answer to that.  I know there are a lot of Missionary churches who support him and on his furlough he is trying to make the rounds to those churches.  About 2 1/2 years ago His wife died and he has stayed on to continue the ministry.  Linda's death has opened doors to people who would otherwise never put themselves into a position to hear the Gospel.  John and I have asked him for a copy of his series of lessons and the activities that go with the lessons so we can use them here.  It will be wonderful to get this series.

It is a cold 8*C day I am feeling it today.  I think I will curl up with a good book and a blanket and read.

Bye for now

Janet:  Sorry to hear about the mishap with Beth's dog.  We all miss those little critters so much when they pass over the rainbow bridge.

Two of the boys came today, one one worked yesterday, and they took out the older microwave and installed the new one.  What a job for them as it was a different size and so forth but they did get it going.  I have to be careful with the newer microwave as it is a quick and powerful one.

Pat:  I hope your deck is finished soon as it is really getting cool in our mornings now.

I took Abby to meet her Daddy at 3:00, came home and took a short nap before going to church at 4:30 to practice the Christmas Cantata.  I am so thrilled that Darrel is also singing in it! ;D

The men who went to Promise Keepers shared for the evening service and it was so encouraging to hear how God spoke to each of them through those meetings.  There were over 100 men from our very small town who went----I am expecting revival in Ulysses, Kansas! ::)

It's time to say good night and get to bed.  I was up late last night talking to Darrel after he got home.  Talk to you tomorrow.

Hello folks...

Sorry for my "away time" today but it's been spent mostly in my bed.  I finally took my temperature and it was about 100 so I'm just drinking lots of fluids.

I'm so sorry about Beth's dog.  Just a sad decision to have to make.

Thanks Al Moak for the wonderful Psalm studies on this site.  When I can't sleep at night, I sure enjoy reading them.

Sure praying for any of our members in Florida this evening and especially Grayce.

Sorry we missed your birthday, Ed.  I don't miss many. ;)

Must go and make a cup of tea.
