JennyW: Hello Janet! I check every day. I wish everyone would get going again! I miss seeing pictures and reading posts! 2025-01-24, 06:54:04

Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

October 31 - Come, Lord Jesus

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."
(1 John 3:2-3)

Hopelessness. As this age draws to a close, that's a feeling that's going to be more and more common among the people of this world. But, you know, it's something we as believers never have to feel! Because no matter how much pressure comes on the earth, no matter how dark the natural circumstances around us are, we know that we have hope in the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we forget that. We get our attention focused so intently on the natural things of this life that we lose that hope and get caught up in the hopelessness around us. But we don't have to let that happen.

A friend of mine once met a born again Arab woman in the Middle East who was living proof of that. The woman was caught in a life most of us would consider almost unbearable. She was living in a war zone that had been torn up by violence. She faced the danger of bombs and bullets every day.

Now that Arab woman had no hope in the natural. Her country was being destroyed around her. She had to go to Israel to work and get money for her family because there were no jobs where she was, no way to make money. Things around her seemed to be going from bad to worse, but she told my friend she had hope because she knew that Jesus was coming back for her. And that hope kept her going.

So, if you're feeling hopeless, get your eyes off this world and get them on the soon return of Jesus. Not only will that raise your spirit, the Bible says it will purify you. It will cause you to live uprightly, to separate you from the sin and failure of the world around you. It will lift you into the joy and victory of God.

Think about this. When this old world comes to an end, you and I will just be getting started. We'll be stepping into the most glorious life we've ever known. The people of the world may look back wistfully and wish for better days gone by. But for you and me, the best is yet to come. So we can shout hallelujah in the midst of trouble and say with the Apostle John, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Come quickly!

Thank you everyone for all your prayers over my family during this time, I felt stronger just knowing you were t6here

Alma

ABOVE ALL PUT ON LOVE..

In Jesus Name, Alma

Al Moak

Father, we pray You'll keep Laura safe until she can have the surgery, and we pray You'll give the doctors special insight and wisdom to do what has to be done.  Oh Father, let Your gracious hand be seen!

Thank you, Janet, for that devotional - oh that I might be more and more aware of His soon coming!

We're getting ready to make a trip down the California coast next week - be gone from Monday through Thursday.  We're going down to Point Arena to see the lighthouse there, then Half Moon Bay, then to see relatives in San Jose, then back.  Would appreciate your prayers for safety/blessing on the trip.

Marilyn

May the Lord keep you safe in His loving arms Al.

Janet thank you for the devotional today. All we have to do is to look at the headlines and see that Jesus is coming soon. Maranatha Lord Jesus.

This week I have two dinners to attend. Oh my Fat Fat Fat. The first is an annual dinner and workshop for the caregivers and their clients. There will be  people from the various agencies to give us handout and talks on what each agency does for the Elders of this area. I will be taking Jan with me, Versal said she didn't think she would be going.

The second is the Light for the Lost Banquet that our church has been chosen to  host for the A/G churches of this area, to raise money to buy Arabic Bibles. The cost is $8.00 per plate for a Bbqed steak dinner. We had to have the men move all the chairs in the Sanctuary  to the side and set up tables for at least 100 people as our fellowship hall only holds enough tables and chairs for about 50-60. Last year our church alone raised enough money to buy 100 Chinese Bibles.

I bought a mini Trampoline (Rebounder) so I could get in some cardio excersise and It is one that folds up. Well, get this  It is going to take two people to hold it down so I can insert the pegs that keep it flat. Everytime I get it all open it flips back closed.

Have a great day y-all.

It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there," he asked. "It sure is," I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, "What'd he do?"

Papa John

Today is Nov. 1st and the year is almost gone.  It seems like they pass by so quickly.  2005 has been a sad year.  The war continues.  We have had earthquakes and destructive storms.  But we know that God is victorious and the Lord is coming and Christians have nothing to fear.

Good to see Janet with her good devotional,  Nita, Al, T-Bear, Marilyn with her dog joke.  I think I will copy that one for my humor file.

Ps 148:1-14

1   Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens, praise him in the heights above.
2   Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his heavenly hosts.
3   Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, all you shining stars.
4   Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.
5   Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created.
6   He set them in place for ever and ever; he gave a decree that will never pass away.
7   Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
8   lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding,
9   you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars,
10   wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds,
11   kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth,
12   young men and maidens, old men and children.
13   Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.
14   He has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his saints, of Israel, the people close to his heart. Praise the LORD.
(NIV)

Hi everyone.  I won't be very wordy today since I really overdid it yesterday.  It is another beautiful day.  We had 50-60 children come to the door last night and some very cute costume.  No one came to the door after 8 pm so at 8:30 I shut off the outside lights and locked the door.

Janet, thanks for the fine devotional today.
Papa John, I certainly agree with what you said above.

Tbear, hope all goes well with the closing today and you will have one less thing to be concerned about.

Marilyn, I had one of those little trampolines one time and used it a little bit.  However, like most exercise equipment it was set aside and I eventually sold it in a yard sale.  It didn't fold up so took quite a bit of room.  Just don't bounce yourself off of it.  :)

Al, I hope you all will have a very restful and enjoyable trip into California.

Alma, my wife has an uncle who had the same problem as Laura and he has been fine for quite a few years after his surgery.  I do hope your sister doesn't have to wait too long for the operation.  You got a very nice new vehicle and I hope you truly enjoy it.  Sorry about the accident to your horse.  Hope things will slow down for you a bit.

Pat

Hi Everyone...

Busy day for me trying to tie up loose ends with my Avon order.  So kind of hectic.

Papa John, it's so nice to see that little guy in your posts again.

Thanks for the update, Alma.  Still praying here in Guelph.

I sure couldn't use one of those trampolines, Marilyn  :o

I'll be back.  Someone is at the door to pick up some Avon.

Nita

Hi all.  I didn't have one solitary trick or treater last night.  After a frantic call from Kim, my daughter, who lives in town, I took my candy to her.  Her hubby had to make another trip to the store later too.  They live on a nice street, and all the kids, and parents, have found it a nice safe place to come.

I need to run to the grange, for the boys, and get some more food.  That's about my goal for the day.

I tried to call Rene today, but she's out.  Jim was killed October 11, and she still hasn't gotten his final pay check or vacation pay he had coming.  Bills just don't stop...do they? Maybe someone has taken her to see about that.  She went to a grief support group on Sunday afternoon, and said it helped.  I was afraid it would be too soon, but I'm so glad she felt it did help her.

We are having rain, rain, rain, and wind, wind, wind.  I think the wind is mostly over, but the rain looks pretty settled in.  I was up at 4 AM, so as soon as it started turning light, I opened the blinds and curtains and watched the trees being whipped around in the wind.  I've always liked watching storms.

Papa John, yes, 2005 has been a sad year.  But even in all this, we can never be as sad as those with no hope.  Where would we be without our Saviour, Jesus Christ?  I couldn't make it, nor would I want to, without Him.  We are blessed people among a world of hurt and desperation.  I've been praying that those effected by each occurance will turn to the only Comforter and receive the peace that only the Lord can give.

Janet, I really liked your devotional.  So much to ponder and be thankful for.  I'd written the above paragraph before I read your devotional...haha...it seems we are all looking forward in hope. :)

Marilyn, that's some spring on that trampoline.  Should it be that tight.....where you can't even open it?  Hopefully it'll stretch or relax some.
I have a Gazelle in my bedroom...with clothes hanging on it!  I told Angel I'm bringing it into the living room.  I don't care what it looks like, I need it where I'll use it more.  In the bedroom it just faces a wall.  Out here, I could look out the window.

Alma....still praying for your sister as she awaits her surgery.

Janet

How are you all doing?  Busy day at the Damon household!

Glad you enjoyed the devotional, it spoke to me, for sure.

Back later, more stuff to do!

I am ready to stop and relax now.  It has been a busy 4 days in a row.

Last evening was fabulous.  We counted 598 kids and adults that came in the entrance to the church for the Hallelujah Festival.  The gym was set up with all kinds of games around the perimeter.  On the stage was a Cake Walk.  Near the kitchen were crock pots full of Chili for all AFTER the Chili Cook Off contest.  The kids were all delightful and lookes so cute in the outfits.  My Small Group dressed like our newest Worship Leader.  He sings like an angel but sure isn't a fashon bug.  So we all wore hiking boots, jeans, t-shirts or flannel shirts, dew rags and some of us had red or orange yarn for hair.  It was fun other that having to stand for 2 and a half hours.

Today was a blood draw for me and Ivalou's yearly.  Then we went to WalMart and now I am ready to relax.  So tired!

I have Pete's Pond on.  I wonder what all the metal clanging is about.  Must be the bird's bills hitting the metal holding the camera.  I heard a splash but it must have been a bird....no elephants for me yet!  But very interesting.

Marilyn

Hello all y-all

Nita we are experiencing the same rain here as you and Jane are having there without the wind. It is COLD but not as cold as it will be further into the real winter. I am having trouble keep Happy in the house he wants to go outside and lay by the fence to see what is going on in the neighborhood.

I am so angry with MasterCard. My bank sent in a payment for me to pay off my account the payment was received 2 days late so they added a $29. late fee that took it over the limit and that was another $29.00  So they are refusing to take the additional $58.00 off my account. I told them to close my account and that I am not going to pay the $58.00 GRRRRRRRRRRR I even spoke to a Supervisor

Howdy folks.  Marilyn, I understand your frustration.  I have been trying to buy airline tickets from Amarillo to Tucson for our trip in Dec-Jan.  Of course we want to leave Amarillo in the morning, but to do so will cost an extra $100.00 per person!  >:(  Boy, they sure know when they have you "over a barrel!"  And they extort every dollar they can get!  As you said .........GRRRRRRR!!

Okay!  Got that out of my system!

We have a Red Hats luncheon tomorrow which should be lots of fun.  The gal who is the hostess this time is doing all the cooking and everything, and she loves to do fancy stuff, use her fancy dishes, etc.  So I'm planning on having a fun time out.  ;)

I have spent far too much time on this machine this afternoon, so I'm shutting down for the evening.  See y'all tomorrow!

That's awful, Marilyn.  Hope you get that straightened away.

Janet, you going away?  Where are you going this time?  Can I come?

Nita

Pat, still got the bus?  You could come by and pick me up first. :)  I'm about ready to get out of the house.

Marilyn, that's terrible!  I use online banking to send payments and so far none have been late.  Was the bank supposed to get it there on time?
Whatever it is, I know added fees are really hard for us who live in the low income levels.

Marilyn

Nita: the bank mailed it on Oct. 24 it was due on Oct. 28 and posted to my account on Oct 31. on the 28th they added the late fee on the 30 they added the over the limit fee. I told them I am NOT going to pay it, and that they could sue me  and I still won't pay it. I had received a loan from the bank to pay off all my credit cards and have only one payment due each month. So the bank sent the payment. I use the online payments for some of my bills but that particular one did not have online payment service.

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Psalm 91:2, New International Version

"In God we trust." That's the phrase written on much of the money in the United States. It's a great reminder. The financial climate ebbs and flows, always vulnerable to instability in the world. Only God is our refuge and fortress during the storms of life. He is eternal. He desires to bless us. He has earned our trust.

Heavenly Father, I am so thankful that I can trust my life with you. Mold me and use me in ways that are a blessing to others. You are my source of security and strength. Please continue to make your presence known in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
