JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

God is love. For I am the Lord, I change not.1 John 4:8; Malachi 3:6

Before there was time, planets, stars, or us, there was the unchangeable, unalterable Lord of eternity.

It is amazing that the all perfect, all sufficient God, knowing the sinfulness of man from before the foundations of the world, would still set Himself to come to this cursed planet.

And it is even more amazing that once here, the Author of Life would be prepared to die for a people that would swear in His name, pluck the beard from His cheeks, and mock His Holy person.

God is love and He changes not.
—Mike Klomp

Lofty, lowly, mighty, Monarch,

What a great devotional Pat, Thank you so much.

I am just checking in here thank you all for your concern over my day I really appreciate all the prayers and  the suggestion that I make that call. Another reason for the loneliness over the holidays is that I miss my mother tremendously. As Gilbert was growing up most of the years were just He and I and my mom for all the holidays. Then those 9 years I spent living in the desert i only got to be with Gilbert once for Christmas and once for Thanksgiving and that was when I flew up here in 2000 and 2002.

Good Night all.

Marilyn, I'm glad your day ended up in the company of family.

Pat , I would feel the same about driving in your weather.  Living here on the coast, we seldom have icy conditions or snow.  I would be afraid to drive far, I'm afraid.  Praise God , you made it home and all safe.

Etta Sue

Thanksgiving was great.  Best is I didn't have to bring home any leftovers.  Lydia had fun making Chocolate Pretzels with me and then telling everyone she made them and be sure to eat ONE because we ran out of Kisses.  So cute.

And I took my camera....but forgot I had it.  No pictures.  But I am not a people taking picture taker.  I don't like my own picture taken and I assume others don't either.

I imagine Ivalou is resting today and putting everything back together again.  She is a trouper.  I have never had that many in my home at once but she is used to it and it doesn't bother her at all.

Marilyn...Jane ~ I understand about being alone at Thanksgiving.  My first Thanksgiving as a widow I spent alone and had a Turkey Dinner TV dinner!  When my son asked me what I did for Thanksgiving, I told him I had Turkey TV dinner...the next year I was invited to his house.  Then Ivalou asked me and she said she didn't want me to stay home and have a TV dinner.  It worked!  That wasn't the intention but it did work.  So I spend the holidays with her and her family.

Now it is a month 'til Christmas!

Good Morning. Well another night of not very much sleep. I think I will get some of those Breathe Easy strips and try those. In talking with Savannah yesterday I did find out that I snore and very loud too. So something has to be done about that.

Nita you have a C-PAP machine. Do you sleep better since you got it? How many other things did you try before you got the machine?

Oh my word there is so much shopping going on. I am seeeing it all on TV because I am not getting out there to join them.

Oh Pat!  Many, many times I've faced conditions like that, either when we lived up in the Sierra Nevada mountains or when we lived in Philadephia.  It isn't a bit of fun - like the kids think it's going to be.  I've driven into South Lake Tahoe when I had to stop about every two blocks to get the ice off the windshield wipers, and when I followed in the tracks of a truck because I couldn''t see the road.  Oh - I'm so glad you made it ok!

Etta Sue - it's so good to gather with family &/or friends - we hardly do it at all any other time!  Thank God for them.  My greatest thankfulness yesterday was for those wonderful people we were with!

Papa John

The day after Thanksgiving is a beautiful day here.  We have sunshine but it is a cold outside.  It was 20 degrees when I got up but is now up to 27.

Al, thank you for commenting on the scripture selection.  One of the blessings of this computer age is being able to search and find things in the Bible with such ease.  To bad we didn't have computers back when we were young preachers.

2 Tim 4:1-5
1   I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2   Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3   For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4   And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5   But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.  (KJV)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I see no one appears to have "exploded" after the big dinner yesterday.  I ate sensibly for once and didn't feel like the turnkey after the meal.  We had a wonderful meal.  Unfortunately our DIL was in a lot of pain and was very depressed but she was a trouper.  We even have some leftovers after dividing with our son and DIL so Pat won't have to cook today and probably tomorrow.

Pat, that driving sound terrible.  Sure glad you got your car off the road and yourself in your house without incident.  We had such a beautiful day here  yesterday and today is overcast but not too cold.  It seems that this time of year there is always some bad weather where people are traveling in the midwest or northweast part of the country or Canada.

Marilyn, I am certainly glad you were able to share the Thanksgiving day with your son and DIL and her family.  Hopefully they will be more considerate next time but you know what to do.  You can always call and ask what you should bring.

Nita, I know what you are talking about when you mentioned the humidifer for the CPAP machine.  My wife has one of those and guess hers worked OK.  She no longer uses the CPAP machine but rather uses Breathe Right strips that seem to allow her to breath through the night.

Ed, I was interested in your recall of early experiences.  I think some of our best memories are not when everything is smooth and in place but when we have had to struggle and make do.  Of course, we wouldn't have wanted those situations to go on indefinitely.  One of the highlights of our early married life was when we moved to Alaska and had to live in a duplex with basically no furniture for about 6 to 8 weeks while our furniture and things were being shipped to us from the lower 48.  My wife was very inventive and we got along well.

Jane, it is wonderful that folks are remembering you to provide wood so you can stay warm.  Glad you were able to enjoy your day with your neighbors.

Judy, it sounds like it was wise that your children didn't come from Michigan based on the description of the driving conditions that Pat just gave us.

Al, there is nothing like children to bring life into an event.  Glad you had such a nice day.

Janet, do hope you can get rested up today.  It sounds like you also had a great time and your grandchildren added such zest to the day. I have forgotten what advice I had given.  I remember writing something and then erasing it as I was afraid it might be a bit too personal.

Etta Sue, I am sort of like you in that I usually forget to take any pictures.  I have a nice camera but most often it sits in the camera bag under my desk.

Pat, thanks for the devotional today.

We had a nice long conversation with our granddaughter yesterday morning.  She has three little ones and works (since the children's father won't) so we usually just communicate by e-mail.  She said they now have a telephone plan where she has unlimited minutes of long distance so we told her to call us when she is free as we are usually here.

I plan a very quiet day.  We only had 11 men turn out for coffee this morning and we had a nice laid back visit.  I plan on watching several football games this afternoon and probably evening.  I will also do some web work.

karmat

Hi all!

No shopping for me today, though Bernard went to Best Buy at 5 am this morning on his wayto work. ;)  and my mom went to a local store on her way to work.

The results -- the Shuford's have a new computer and printer, and my mom bought over $1000 worth of stuff for around $300.  So, if you are willing to fight the crowds, I guess it is worth it.  I didn't have a babysitter, so it wasn't worth taking a pre-schooler and infant out (who has a stomach bug btw, ;( ).

There were 17 of us at my m om's yesterday.  And no, we don't sit down around the table for a civilized meal.  More like, grab it while you can and sit where you can find!  It's fun though.  One of the grandson's found the easter eggs (plastic ones that mom uses every year) and the next thing we knew, there were easter eggs flying every where.  Kinda like a snowball fight.  Only inside, adn with plastic eggs.

Hope everyone is having a good "day after."

Take care
karmet

Janet

Pat, please do not go out driving in such weather any more, unless it is a matter of life or death!  We love you and want to keep you around.  Thank you, God, for protecting our Pat.

Karma, I well remember when my kids and all my siblings' kids were small, and the hectic but fun times we had when we all got together.  Those days pass by all too quickly!  I can hardly believe our grandson Curtis is already 22 years old; it seems only a couple of years since he was a little boy with a thousand questions a day.  I suppose it will not be long before another generation begins.  Oh, my.........

Ed, I remember one year when I was a young bride, my husband and I spent Thanksgiving alone, and we had spaghetti!  But that was all right; we were young, in love, and together.  And I remember that menu long after forgetting many other years' menus.  ;)

Larry, your suggestion was that Beth keep a robe handy that John can hand to her when she needs help.  Wonder why I didn't think of that??  :idiot:  I'm so happy you got to speak to your granddaughter, but sorry your daughter-in-law was having pain yesterday.

Beth is really having a terrible time trying to do things.  I am trying not to think about her future..........what is to become of her?  Only God knows.

Papa John, I always enjoy your posts so much, and the scriptures you add really brighten my day---they always seem to address something I am dealing with.  So---THANK YOU!  :)

Etta Sue, it is so cool that you live so near your siblings.  I would think it would never be necessary for any of you to be alone on a holiday, or any other time you feel the need for company.  (((hugs)))

Nita, good to hear from you again today!

Jane, I am thanking our Father along with you for the wood!  :) 8)  He does take good care of us kids, doesn't He?

Darrel said he had to go to town, I asked why?  And he said he wanted a turkey sandwich, and we had no bread!  So we went, and stopped by his trailer to check on our new renters.  They have boxes everywhere, but are so happy to have their own space again, and said it feels very home-y and they are happy there.  We wanted to see if there were anything we needed to fix that we had overlooked, and they had a couple small items.  I feel really good about this arrangement, for them and for us.  Thank you, God.

Did you see on TV this morning, the pushing and shoving and trampling the crowd at one Wal-Mart did, trying to get the first bargains?  Unbelievable!!  I'm gald I am HOME today, it isn't worth going through the hassle to me to save a few pennies, and I think things will go cheaper yet before Christmas.  Anyway, there really isn't anything I need that much.

I think I will make another batch of oat bran muffins today.  I ate my last one this morning for breakfast.  They help with reducing the cholesterol, and are a good start for the day.

See you all later!

Karmat, your Thanksgiving sounds like it always was when we'd all gather at mom and dad's.  There wasn't room around the table, so we'd set everything on, then just help ourselves in a line and find a place to sit and visit and eat. :)  Lots of laughter and fun.  I miss them.  We don't gather like that anymore.  Oh, and congrats on the new computer.

Marilyn, I used the nose strips to help you breathe, used nasal spray..etc.  I would have stayed with these, but when my doctor was deployed, and a new one took her place, I happened to mention not sleeping through the night, and next thing I knew, I had an appointment for the sleep lab (now, that's a really fun thing!)and was prescribed the C-Pap.  It's hard to get used to, but I find if I use it consistantly I have more energy.  There's a forum I visit at cpap.com.  You can learn a lot by reading comments there.  If you are having apneas then maybe the strips aren't enough.

I'm not even near to thinking of heading out to the sales today!!  Shudder!  I'm not into getting shoved around, and last year, said I'd never do it again. lol

Larry, I ate light too.  I didn't eat pie either, but came home and last night had some lo carb chocolate ice cream.  ::)  I'd rather have had pumpkin ice cream, but that's all I had.  Suffer, suffer.....

We are having rain today.  Though it looks nice on my windows, I don't know about picture taking.  I'd thought of driving to the beach, but get tired of just taking ocean pictures all the time.

Guess I'll finish my second cup of coffee and find something for breakfast.  I'll check back later.  byeeeee.

Hi, sweet Janet.  You popped in while I was typing. :)

If my cats were outside cats, the above would be their picture.

I put todays date with yesterdays on this NEM since there weren't very many posts and the site was down yesterday.

Ivalou has a huge dining room table.  There were 14 around it.  Four at a card table and one in a high chair.  Erik who is 15 said he finally got to sit at the big people's table!  There will be more for Christmas...probably six more...maybe eight more!

I went with Kitty yesterday to an Orchid nursery.  She said to bring my camera.  So we asked if we could take pictures and I got some fabulous shots of some orchids.  I got home and resized my pictures and decided to make a calendar.  I printed 12 pictures and then put a month on the back.  Kitty has a cutter that makes rectangle holes on the edge and spines.  So one day this week, I should have my very own homemade calendar!  Kind of expensive though.  I used up a brand new cartridge of color ink!!

Time to get ready to go back to the chiropractor.  Each day has found me getting a little more pain.  Still not as bad as before I went but not healed yet!

God Bless You All

Janet

Happy Saturday, Y'all!  Good to have the site back up.

Nards and Karma, glad you have a new (working!!) computer!  Hope to see you here more often now, and more pics of your little cuties!

I decided my closet really needed cleaning, so worked on that for a while yesterday.  I have shelves along one wall where I put t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc, and it was a jumbled mess.  I flung quite a few items, probably should have flung more, and now that area looks better and I should be able to find things.  Next go around, I will do the hanging clothes.  (27 fling boogies, plus! --- for Flylady members.  ;))

Our local paper this week said Stage (the department store people) had been here in town with an eye toward putting in a Stage store here.  That would be a really good thing for us, as our one and only department store is going out of business, leaving only Alco to buy clothing.  It would be nicer to be able to shop at home, rather than driving 60 to 80 miles to do it.

I'm not sure what I will be doing today, but something!  :D  I even relaxed last evening and watched a movie with my sweetie.  ::)

Not much new here today at the moment it is not raining but it sure did last night.

It is good to see up back up and running. I sure missed being here yesterday after I got home from work.

My friend Kitty from down inthe desert called me alst night and said the her son Johnny is leaving for Iraq at the first of the year. Please keep him in prayer.

Jany you have been doing so much cleaning and tossing lately it must be hard to stop and rest.

My toilet is now working fine. Whew, tha was a mess yesterday, good thing the water that went all over the floor was clean water.

I'm finally able to reply to Papa John's post of yesterday!  Glad to see the site up.  Papa John - I well remember writing all my notes with a pen or pencil or my old mechanical typewriter.  I've still got lots of my old (really old) notebooks with studies in them.  Computers are wonderful!  And the Bible programs are wonderful too!  I did a commentary on Revelation, and it was done the first time through on my typewriter.  When I made a mistake (and I made lots) I had to type the whole page over.  Thank You, Lord, for Microsoft Word!

Janet - you can send some of those oatbran muffins to me (quick via cyberspace).

Thanks, Pat, for getting on the site problem so promptly yesterday.  Yer a gem.  Gotta get Marbeth up and have breakfast and get ready to go to Winco for grocery shopping.

Paul Harvey, got to love him!

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for
singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't
go out and hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his theory of
evolution.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because
someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.

So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the
entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and
asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going
home from the game.

"But it's a Christian prayer," some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on
Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian
churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you
expect-somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem,
I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad,
I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China,
I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended.
It wouldn't bother me one bit.
When in Rome.

"But what about the atheists?" is another argument.

What about them?
Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection
plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a
Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession
stand.
Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell
thousands what they can and cannot do.
I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the
world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our
courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to
pray before eating; to pray before we go to sleep.

Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and
their lawyers are telling us
to cease praying.

God, help us.
And if that last sentence offends you,
well ... just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we let that one or
two who scream loud enough to be heard .... that the vast majority don't
care what they want. It is time the majority rules! It's time we tell them,
you don't have to pray; you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance; you
don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your
right, and we will honor your right. But by golly, you are no longer going
to take our rights away. We are fighting back .
and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all .. especially those who denounce Him. God bless
America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all.

God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and
worship God.

May 2006 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the
foundation of our families and institutions.
Keep looking up.

If you agree with this, please pass it on.
If not ... delete and God bless you.

Second I got joy from knowing your son cares enough about you to keep you from being alone again.

As for leftovers....Whenever we eat Thanksgiving away I miss having turkey sandwiches the rest of the week.  Give me a doggie bag...

God bless Paul Harvey, and a hearty AMEN to what he said!  Thanks for sharing that, Marilyn!

Ed, one Christmas when my kids were young, we were barely making enough to keep the wolf away from the door.  I had talked to the kids about Christmas and explained there wouldn't be many gifts, but we would make things, play games, and have a wonderful time anyway; that Christmas isn't about the gifts, but about the GIFT God gave us.  They all understood and got into the spirit of it, and we were doing just great........until...........my husband at the time (better forgotten!) went to the bank and BORROWED money and went out and bought all sorts of stuff that none of us needed.  I was angry, and the kids were disappointed.  Diane said "Mom, I was looking forward to a sacrificing Christmas."  I have never forgotten her remark, and treasure it in my heart.  God bless the wisdom of children!

I have been playing with pictures, now I need to get moving!

Hi everyone.  It is chilly here this morning and still overcast.  We spent quite awhile at the cafe this morning but enjoyed a nice leisurely time.  I then went to the store for a few grocery items.

Last evening our son called and wanted to know if we still have any of the leftover green rice casserole, green bean casserole and the sweet potato dish that Pat had made.  I told him we had about finished up the leftovers but he was welcome to what was left.  He is suppose to come over today and pick them up.  Pat fixed him a green bean casserole this morning, which is still in the oven.  She also baked another pumpkin pie to use up some of the milk mixture she had left from the three milk cake.  Neither she nor I had gotten any of the first pumpkin pie she had made.

I plan to stay in again the rest of the day and will watch football this afternoon and evening while I work on my computer.  I am working on a major project for our Learning Center website related to the 10th Anniversary celebration.  I should finish it up to day.  I also have in the works another webpage for our Learning Center that will be a gallery of our volunteers.  We have around 80 volunteers and it is hard to put names with faces, especially for new folks.  The way I initially set it up would have involved major work everytime we had a new volunteer or new officers.  So I went from an alphabetical arrangement to one that shows them by the year they joined.

I need to start on a major revision to our church website and that will be a big job.

The last two days I hae had an interesting chat with a fellow from India, who is working for the big oil company in Saudi Arabia.  He is a pharmist and what chatting while he was at work.  He is 25 years old and wanted to know if I could teach him how to make webpages.  I told him I was self-taught and he could do the same by using the resources on the Internet.  He wanted to see some of the websites I maintain so I gave him several URLs.

Al, sorry I wasn't at my desktop when you sent the chat request last evening.  I didn't have that program running on my laptop and didn't see it until it was too late.  Glad we are back up and running here on CP this morning.

Marilyn, glad your plumbing problem was quickly fixed.  That is three of our folks who have had plumbing problems recently so hopefully that is the last for a long while.  I don't think there is much that is more frustrating that a commode overflowing or a washing machine as it is such a helpless feeling.  Fortunately in my house I have cutoff valves close by if I see the problem before any serious spillage occurs.

Janet, I am getting quite worried that you have the cleaning flu or something.  You just complete two big cleaning jobs in Beth's home and Darrel's rental and now you start on your own house.  I sure hope that isn't catching but don't think there is any danger of that in our household since we have to have a cleaning lady come and do the cleaning.  Seriously, I am glad that your health permits you to work like that but as the president of our computer learning center told me last night "we are not 21 anymore".

Karmat and Nards, glad you were able to get a new computer yesterday.  The man I pick up each day to take to coffee had been planning for several weeks to take advantage of the Black Friday sales to get a new laptop.  They went to Circuit City yesterday at 5 a.m. and he said there were at least 500 people in line waiting to get in.  Then the lady behind him asked if he had a pre-sale voucher and he didn't.  She told him that he would stand a chance to get one of the computers then as people had prespoken for them.  They then went to Best Buy, which has a huge parking lot, and there was no place to park.  Needless to say he doesn't have a new computer.  My good friend, Rod, had a similar experience as he wanted to get a big-screen TV and the lines were too long.  He said every checkout stand had at least 25 people waiting in line.

There were near riots at some of our stores, inclduing Wal-mart, and several people were trampled when they opened the doors.  In another instance a lady had been in line and bought one of the new Xbox game systems and when she got home and got out of her car someone put a gun in her face and stole the Xbox.  The word insanity comes to mind.  I don't think I need anything that badly.

Nita, the main reason my wife stopped using the CPAP machine was that the air was causing her a lot of problems with dry eyes and also cavities in her teeth.  She had used the machine for about 7 years before she stopped.  It certainly helped her.

Etta Sue, sometimes doing a lot of color printing is more expensive than buying a commercial item.  However, I am sure yours is more meaningful and beautiful.  Hope the chiropractor was able to bring you a lessening of the pain.

Well, I seem to have written another book so better stop and get to work on my projects.

karmat

Etta, if you like big printing jobs like that, I would highly recommend uploading your pictures to adorama.com or snapfish.com or something.  Last year, we printed calendars of Travis for the grandparents.  They were $20 a piece, but that was cheaper than any ink cartridge I've found. ;)  Of course, you don't get the instant gratification. . .

Nards has a new/used camera.  I'll let him tell you about it.

I'm getting one soon -- Should be shipped Monday.  And no, we didn't hit the jackpot, we refinanced our house.  At least now the payments are a bit more within reach.

Travis is watching Bambi right now.  He was watching Veggie Tales earlier this morning.  We've tried to find some substitutes for "Spongebob" because while a little SB SP might be ok, too much of that yellow critter starts grating on you.

Janet -- I get the flylady emails everyday (actually, I think I signed up after you posted a link here, maybe).  I'm not real good at doing the things, but when I follow her advice, it really does seem to work.

Marilyn, I, too, am glad it was clean water. :)

Well, I need to take a shower or something.  I think we may be going Christmas shopping today.  whoohoo.

Have a great Saturday, and I hope to be back in here later.

Sue

Marilyn, I really enjoyed reading the item from Paul Harvey.  So True!
It's nice to know that you have a caring landlord that takes care of problems immediately or as soon as reasonably possible for you.  Your landlord's seen like Janet and Darrel, ones that take pride in ownership!

Janet, can you post a link to Flylady?  I had it but it has disappeared somehow.

Al, I got your request to chat last evening but had to ignore it as I had to get to bed for some sleep as I had a very early work start time today.

Karmat, you may not have won the jackpot but I'm sure you feel like you did.  ;D

EttaSue, I kinda feel like your cat does...the weather man said it was supposed to warm up a bit this weekend but methinks he was fibbing cause it's still snowing out.

Christmas Shopping?  I've started but can't quite remember by how much cause I've purchased the odd item here and there when I've seen it on sale and stashed it in the basement.  I'm sure I'll discover some things in May or June of next year.  ::)

I was at work at 4:30 am and only got home at noon.  On the adjenda for today is to saw an old desk down to make two end tables for a bed, then vacuum the room and steam clean the carpets and then put the "new to me" bedroom suite into the room.  Then the other room (used to be my daughter's room) is to be turned into a sewing/craft room for me.  YEA!  I also hope to get an item or two baked and frozen so that I'm not pulling my hair out in a few weeks saying "OH NO....I said I'd bring dessert and I have no squares made".  I also would like to get my cards done but that may wait for another day.

Janet

Wow, Sue....that sounds like enough work to keep you busy for a WEEK!  Remember, you can do anything for 15 minutes, according to www.flylady@flylady.com ..Hmmm, I guess I have to post first before the link turns blue.  I am a long way from doing all the routines and missions, but just having the reminders gradually gets you to doing more around the house.  Thanks, Pat, for turning me on to Flylady.  <3

Larry, after cleaning those terrible messes, working on my own mess is almost fun!  And it does need doing, so....  It is great that you can do so much with your computers, and I know the others appreciate it.

Al, I sent those oat bran muffins----did you get 'em?   :)

Karma, have fun shopping!  Like Sue, I have been buying all through the year, now the next thing is to FIND all the stuff and remember who it is for!  :-[

Diane called and invited us down for supper tonight.  She knew we would enjoy spending some more time with the boys before they go back to college.  And Abby says after supper they are going to put up their Christmas tree and I can help!  ::)  And then, she says, they will come and help me put up mine!  Oh, how I love those grandkids!  8)

The couple who want to rent our big house called and said they want it for sure, and will get propane and electricity by Monday.  Darrel had just gone up and put anti-freeze in the toilets this morning.  Oh, well, better safe than sorry, for sure.  I hope we will collect enough in rent to recoup all the costs of repairs before too long.  We know we rent them cheaper than anyone else, but Darrel says it is better to rent for a little less than to have people moving in and out so often.

Okay, I'm off to see what else I can get into.............

Speaking of chatting.  What do you use?  I used to have MSN and Yahoo.
I haven't used either for a long time.  Al, what do you use?
I think I'm rainy4me2004 on yahoo chat.  And according to my password book, I'm nitahrnr@hotmail.com on MSN.  I don't know if either are still good.  If they are, let me know and I'll make sure to open them when I'm online.  I guess you can tell, I don't chat.  It might be fun though.

Marilyn

Nita apparently you yahoo is still good and I have added you to msn messenger. They should both be good.
