JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Ive enjoyed reading all your Thanksgiving plans, meals, about your grandkids, childrens' antics etc., etc.  Interesting to read about the Cpac machine too, as Norm has one here.  He can't seem to get used to it though.  Everyone that has had one, seems to think they feel more energetic.  Thats his problem...fatigue.  I will suggest that he "try it one more time".

Janet - funny that you should mention the Flylady .  Thanks for the link - I will try it.  What all does it do?

I'm surprised that Beth is planning to visit John for so long.  I will be praying for her.  Wonderful if it should all work out for them.  They both deserve some happiness, don't they.

I saw all those shoppers being trampled too.  One broadcaster on the Today show this morning, said one Walmart opened up at midnight - people were lining up from 9:pm on - Imagine....standing outside in all that cold, just to get a bargain!

I guess if you are healthy, and bundled up......I LOVE a bargain, but....LOL

Mariln - I was PRAYING Gilbert would ask you for dinner....I'm so happy he did!  I know the feeling.....I would never NOT ask my mother to come for dinner.

Kids are so different these days.  When my mother was widowed, I used to phone her EVERY day.  Thought nothing of it. Its been 2 weeks since I've heard from either of my kids!!  We could be dead...

I must close....I'm next to tears.

I use yahoo and soemtimes MSN I just gor rid of AOL because there was too much aol in my system and I had to clean it all out so I got rid of AOL.

I am trying to warm up my ouse, it is colder in here that it is outside, but I can't take a shower outside.

I just found out that my oldest Grandson Wesley (26) is getting married in March, so It looks like Gilbert and I will be making a trip to Stockton in the near future. It will so great to see all my children and grandchildren again. I wonder if my  Son from North Carolina will come out for the wedding

Judy I don't hear from Gilbert but about every 2-3 weeks unless I call him. He says he isn't a telephone person.

Ed, one Christmas when my kids were young, we were barely making enough to keep the wolf away from the door...................... until my husband at the time (better forgotten!) went to the bank and BORROWED money and went out and bought all sorts of stuff

I think I know what your husband was trying to do.  I did it in a different way.  I wanted to surprise Donna at Christmas.

Early on in our marriage I used to do the grocery shopping on the way home from work on payday.  We were counting every penny and I had better notof bought anything that was not on the list.

She made a list and checked it twice.

My little secret was to tell Donna that the groceries cost $2 more than they did.  I put the $2 in a Christmas Club at the local bank.

On Christmas day, Donna opened her card to find a crisp new $100 bill.  I told her that it was just for her to spend on herself and not the kids.  She started crying.  I thought she was overcome with joy over my gift.

No....she was crying because she had not gotten me anything.  I told her that it didn't matter and it didn't.  I've always gotten more joy out of giving than getting anyway.

Years later she mentioned it and said how sad she was when she didn't/couldn't get me anything.  I didn't realize that my surprise gift would hurt her.  If I had known that, I'da given her $50 and myself the other $50...naw...Ida given it to my kids.

Thanks so much for that Paul Harvey article.  It's the best I've read.  It should be forced upon every congressman and senator, and they should be made to take a quiz after reading it.  Just one more thing I don't remember him mentioning, though - the amendment they all refer to says, "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, nor denying the free exercise thereof."  I'd just like to make the point that prayer in schools, etc. wasn't by congressionally made law.  But prohibiting it is indeed an attempt to use the law to deny its free exercise, is it not?  Oh boy do I like Paul Harvey after reading that!

Hi Everyone...

Had to dig the driveway.  Now I'm trying to get warmed up.

I'm so glad that Ian was able to get the site back up for us.

I've added some photos up top and I sure hope that you all click on them and leave a comment.

As the Deer Panteth for the Water
(Click to hear music)

Written by Martin Nystrom

Psalm 42:1
"As the hart panteth after the water brooks,
so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

As the deer panteth for the water,
So my soul longs after you.
You alone are my hearts desire,
And I long to worship You.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

I want you more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

You're my friend and You're my brother,
Even though you are a King.
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything.

Chorus
You alone are my strength, my shield;
To You alone may my spirit yield.
You alone are my hearts desire,
and I long to worship You.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I'm back after being in the Atlanta area for a few days. My leg and foot bothered me and it required walking down 3 steps and then walking across about 20 feet of office space to get to a computer, so I refrained from pushing my luck.

At any rate, we had a good time together, and all was peaceful. I got to be with them when they put up their Christmas tree (last night), so that was fun, too. And today, I taught Pam and Kassie how to make chicken and dumplings. All who ate them liked them, and I left with the knowledge that another family tradition has been passed down to the net generation.

Y'all have a good evening. I'm really tired and need to rest.

Ruth Ann

Good Evening from a chilly island.  Talk of snow tonight....brrr!

Have finally caught up on what is going on and read all the posting.  Glad that everyone had such a nice Thanksgiving.  Equally glad that in Canada, we have ours earlier and don't have to face two turkey dinners so close together.  Does having it so close to Christmas cause problems for relatives choosing which holiday to travel....??

Janet, I saw a turkey fryer in action on TV and it caused fires for folks who had it too close to buildings.  Looked pretty scary....does it taste much different from oven roasted?  Lots of questions tonight!

Amanda had a very early (9 AM) hair appointment and I went along with Wendy so we could go to a sale of special items at the Salvation Army store.  Got a couple of little things for a good price.  Always fun to shop there as it is real neat and clean...not like some others in the area.  Price is also good

I cooked dinner for the kids tonight.  First time in awhile as was not really able to do much.  Made oven Pot Roast, Veg., Salad and baked an apple pie.  Turned out rather tasty.  Mentioned to Wendy that when I used to do lots of cooking, things almost never turned out badly.....now the reverse is more likely.   :'(

Black Friday sounds rather like our Boxing Day Sales.  (day after Christmas)
The X Box systems certainly seem to be popular.  Folks were camping outside of stores all night in tents in order to get in on good prices at one store.

We are not going to exchange presents this year.  Have always made such a production out of it in past years, decided to take a break.  Buying for Amanda and that is all.  This has been a Budget Disaster year......Will simply have a quiet day at home with the turkey.....not going out to dinner this year.  I am glad!  Might get the cats some catnip tho'......

That was a nice post about Paul Harvey, Marilyn.  Enjoyed.

Here is a tiny smile:

Lost & Found
Says one humorist: "Life is unfair. I lost my car keys at a ball game and never found them. I lost my sunglasses at the beach and never found them. I lost my socks in the washing machine and never found them. I lost three pounds on a diet -- I found them and five more."

                ;)

Time to go, hope that I don't get bonked on the head.

Pleasant evening and God Bless.

Liz
