JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Morning Devotional...

Personal Life:
Longing After God

Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight....
--Exodus 33:13

Come near to the holy men and women of the past and you will soon feel the heat of their desire after God. They mourned for Him, they prayed and wrestled and sought for Him day and night, in season and out, and when they had found Him the finding was all the sweeter for the long seeking.

Moses used the fact that he knew God as an argument for knowing Him better. "Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, show me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight;" and from there he rose to make the daring request, "I beseech thee, show me thy glory."

God was frankly pleased by this display of ardor, and the next day called Moses into the mount, and there in solemn procession made all His glory pass before him.
Dr. Tozer in The Pursuit of God, 15.

"Does anyone today know anything about that heat of desire after You, God? I'm not reading or hearing much that comes close, though thankfully there are a few exceptions. Restore to us today this deep longing, I pray in Jesus' name. Amen."

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:1,2

I went for a little visit of five days (to Areley House). There were ten persons in the house, some unconverted and long prayed for, some converted, but not rejoicing Christians. He gave me the prayer, "Lord, give me all in this house!" And He just did.

Before I left the house every one had got a blessing.

The last night of my visit after I had retired, the governess asked me to go to the two daughters. They were crying.  Then and there both of them trusted and rejoiced; it was nearly midnight. I was too happy to sleep, and passed most of the night in praise and renewal of my own consecration; and these little couplets formed themselves, and chimed in my heart one after another till they finished with "Ever, Only, ALL for Thee!"

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips, and let them be filled with messages from Thee.
Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect, and use every power as Thou shalt choose.

Take my will, and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for Thee.

Pat, I really appreciated the devotional.  Tommy Tenny has such a heart for intimacy with God.  He shows us God's heart in such a special way.

For those having sleeping problems, here's a sleep journal that might be interesting.  It looks interesting.  I can keep it for a week, as they suggest. This is the printable page.

Samantha

Morning everyone.  I've been up and down since 3 am due to storms passing thru.  I hope they don't get too severe by the time they reach Larry in Georgia.  They were pretty rough my way.

My nephew should be visiting with his mother, my sister, today.  Pray that he can deal with how his mother is looking now.  She still looked good when he was here Thanksgiving.

Have a great day everybody!  It's gonna take a lot of  :coffee: to get me working right today!

I'm waking up - 'cause I have my mug!
It's right here now, and I take a sip...

Everyone of us should make that our daily prayer.

Thank you at for posting that devotional.

Not much planned for today, working both jobs as usual. I think I am taking both ladies grocery shopping today or else I am going shopping for them by myself. It is supposed to be raining pretty  much all day day long. Not right now though.

I went to sleep after midnight and slept pretty good until 6 am. Now I am having my coffee and will move away from this contraption and get ready for work.

HOWDEE!!  I'm home!!  It is good to be back home, even though we had a wonderful trip.  We got here yesterday afternoon, but our internet was messed up, so I called the help desk this morning and got it sorted out.  I had over 3000 emails, yikes!!  Each one came in 6 times!  So I got to do a lot of deleting!

I hope all of you are well.  I haven't read all of the past days' messages yet.

My worst report is that my wonderful camera stopped working.  :'(  I have no idea if it can be repaired or if I will have to buy another....breaks my heart, I love that camera.

I have all the laundry done, quite a lot after two weeks, and now I want to look at my photos.  We spent the last night in Dumas, Texas, and went to Wal-Mart and got them put on discs.

Love you guys!

Pat do you remember hearing a bride singing that hymn?  It was 1961, and her aunt said she sounded like an angel.  I will never forget that, hymn or the music that went with it.  Do you remember watching Mr Penny and knowing he was going to leave out a verse?  No one knew that a mistake was being made.  That is the mark of a true artist. <3

This has been another dull day.  It is +5*C here.  Skys are overcast.  Mom and Puppies are doing well.  Tails are cropped and they are content.  I had an offer from a friend that he would do the tails, but he doesn't freeze the little guys before cropping the tails.  I think that is cruel.  Yes it saves money, but, the little things mew enough when the freezing comes out.  To do it without freezing........ Ouchie.

I have a project to do today.  I have violets that need pottong.  I also have onr that is not doing well.  So I will put it into a terrarium and pot the babies that are in the terrarium.  I am going to have to either give some away or sell some.  Pat do you want some more violets?  If so I will get some down to you.

WEll I will close for now.  will be back later.

Welcome back, Janet!  So sorry about your camera!

Good afternoon from Indiana.  Another rainy, dark, gloomy day!  Another lake in my sister's field.  Basement semi dry, though.

I went to Kitty's last night.  They just got home from Disney World and she showed me pictures of Disney World.  What a wonderful place for kids of all ages!

I watched some TV when I got home but when I went to bed I couldn't turn off my head.  I finally got up and composed a 100 word or less essay about my Maple tree in my front yard.  I am going to take a photo of it and send both to the Indiana Historical Society for a photo contest.  So I went back to bed at 3:04 a.m. and got up at 10 a.m. this morning.  I hate it when I can't turn my head off!!

Ivalou came over for Pizza Soup for lunch.  Kitty gave me the recipe a few weeks back and I made it this morning.  Really good.  Then tonight Ivalou and I are eating out with Tony and Charlene.  This rain is suppose to turn to snow so it will probably be an early evening.

Tomorrow is the 60 Chix luncheon!

Busy!  Busy! Busy!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I decided to take the day off today. It's a holiday on Monday and I need to use up 5 carryover vacation days before March 31, so decided to take the time and rest and "fiddle around" today. I shopped in  Big Lots (a closeout discount store) and bought about $20 of foodstuffs.

Then, got the brake light replaced in my little truck - I'm so thankful the designers made the lights so when one goes out the turn signals blink really fast. Such a good, simple warning system that something needs to be replaced, and I had a bit of breakfast at a drive in restaurant where they still bring the food to the vehicle.

And, I had opportunity to actually go inside a bank and transact my business rather than through the drive through. Whatg a treat! I got to interact with real, smiling human beings who got my problem fixed in a jiffy and I left a happy lady.

My first week in shoes has gone well, but by the day end yesterday, my foot was very tired and aching with each step. So, doctors orders are to rest if it hurts. It's a great thing to have the extra days off so I can rest when I need it.

Y'all have a good day.

Ruth Ann

Personal Life: The Knowledge of God

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to
teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you
have come to need milk and not solid food.
--Hebrews 5:12
Probably the most widespread and persistent problem to be found among
Christians is the problem of retarded spiritual progress. Why, after
years of Christian profession, do so many persons find themselves no
farther along than when they first believed?...
The causes of retarded growth are many. It would not be accurate to
ascribe the trouble to one single fault. One there is, however, which
is so universal that it may easily be the main cause: failure to give
time to the cultivation of the knowledge of God....
The Christian is strong or weak depending upon how closely he has
cultivated the knowledge of God....
Progress in the Christian life is exactly equal to the growing
knowledge we gain of the Triune God in personal experience. And such
experience requires a whole life devoted to it and plenty of time
spent at the holy task of cultivating God. God can be known
satisfactorily only as we devote time to Him.  The Root of the
Righteous, 7-9.

"Lord, I'd like to devote the remaining years of my life and
ministry to the 'holy task of cultivating God.' Help me to know You
first, and then out of the overflow of that growing knowledge can
come whatever ministry You choose to bless me with. Amen."

Thanks dear Bro.  It's one of my favorites.  You can definitely hear the clop, clop, clop of the horse as the rider goes about trying to bring the dogies home.  Like I said, though - I didn't know you Brits knew anything about cowboying.  Where do you do that - somewhere along the Thames?

Sue

Etta Sue, Pizza Soup?  Sounds good!  Could post the recipe perhaps?

NOt much else going on, must get going and get dinner started.

Marilyn

I am having Spaghetti for supper. I already ate some Cole Slaw.  I've cleaned my house and talked on the phone to Gilbert, and dried the dogs off a few times as they came back in the house. Nothing else new here.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

This has been a very busy day.  We had our computer center Learning Center volunteer meeting this morning and then our PC User Group meeting this afternoon.  Both meetings were good and we always have a business lunch provided between the meetings.

Our speaker this afternoon is from our counties District Attorney's Victims Witness Program.  He spoke about the state of crime in our county and what we, as seniors, needed to be aware of to protect ourselves.  It was a very interesting meeting.

We also had door prizes awarded and I won first prize, which was a new Creative Wecam Instant camera that is perfect for my laptop.  I have it installed and am also using a new little "Google" mouse that isa bout an inch wide that my friend Rod gave me.  He had received it when he was in Las Vegas last week attending the PC User Groups national convention.  So I feel very blessed today.

Janet, glad to see you are home safe and sound but sorry to hear of the problems with your camera.  It sure took good pictures.  It sounds like the pictures you were able to take survived.

Good to see everyone posting.  I am tired tonight so am not going to try to make individual comments.  Maybe I can do better tomorrow.

Judy McKenna

Al -love that little poem you put on NEM....cute....

Judy B:  I'll buy a couple of those violets., problem is - how can I go about getting them?

Marilyn:  You sure are getting lots of rain..... Seattle too.  we should be praying for your State, also Texas, Oklahoma etc. who are having terrible fires.

Hi Etta Sue!

Janet:  Welcome home.  Has anyone heard from Beth?

Dr Dobson had Steve Saint on Focus On The Family today.  Steve is the son of Nate Saint, the bush pilot killed along with Jim Elliot and three others.  Steve has written a book of which a movie is to be released next week.  "End Of The Spear."

Dr Dobson acknowledged that the movie carries a PG-13 rating, but said that those on staff who had a preview said is was done quite well.

THANKS CHRIS
For the great music site. It sure beats listening to the music on the radio today.  Even the oldies stations are corrupted....playing the same songs three times a day when there are so many that are not played at all.

My only fear is that he will be shut down.  Annies Place was much the same and she was ordered to remove all the music from her site or be sued.  She had the words posted too..maybe that was her downfall.
