Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

Jesus Can Set Them Free

"And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give."
(Matthew 10:7-8)

There are those who've said that some of the diseases that are on the rampage right now, diseases such as AIDS, are God's way of punishing immoral people today. There is absolutely no scriptural basis for that!

God does not bring disease on the human race. In fact, if there's anybody in heaven and earth who hates it, it's Jesus. The devil is the one who's trying to tell us otherwise. He's promoting a lie, trying to get us to believe God is the one who's inflicting these diseases on people because he knows that if the victims believe that, it will drive them further from God than ever. And that's his aim.

It's time you and I as believers put a stop to that lie. Some time ago, the Lord spoke to my heart and told me so. He said, "Reach out to those who are suffering. Let them know I didn't do this to them. Let them know I'm their Deliverer!"

That word was not just for me, it was for the whole Body of Christ. We need to tell people who've been afflicted with AIDS or any such disease that Jesus is Lord over it. We need to tell them that God loves them dearly, and He has the desire and the power to heal them.

God is not responsible for the suffering we're seeing around us. That's just a nasty lie the devil is passing around. And if you and I do our job right, very soon another word is going to start spreading through the streets. The news is going to get out that Jesus Christ is not their captor, He's the One who can set them free!

Papa John

Janet, thank you for these thoughts this morning.

God is good.  Every day we receive good gifts from our Father.

James 1:13-17
13   When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
14   but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
15   Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
16   Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
17   Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
(NIV)

Papa John

Eph 2:8-9  For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast.(NIV)

Good morning!  I have a lot to do today, since I did basically nothing yesterday.  What are your plans?

I wish you all a wonderful day, walking with our mighty God and thinking of all the blessings He gives us.

Thanks, Papa John.  I always look forward to the scriptures you add in your posts.  It seems they are always "right on" for the day.

G'mornin' y'all.  Pat, it was most distressing to hear that you actually got high over taking one photo.  You could at least have had Mary Poppins' umbrella or something.  After all, doing such things, and especially the way you did it - is just not proper.  Please don't do it again.

Marilyn - I've decided that the amount I need is all of it.

Today is the day for royalty around here.  I will be crowned at shortly after 2PM.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We are expecting rain later in the day and, while it is pretty warm, it is very overcast.  Pat has gone to a Quilt Guild meeting this morning.  She hasn't attended the group for several years.  I hope she enjoys it and will want to continue to participate.

I don't have much planned today although my friend may call later in the day and we may take our laptops to the senior center to check out using the webcams in preparation for his presentation in February.  We will also go back to Fry's to get more webcams and he is doing the same presenation in Huntsville, Alabama and they authorized him to buy the cameras to use as door prizes for their meeting as we will be doing at our February meeting.

Pat, sorry to hear of the extreme pain you are having and not being able to drive.  That would certainly be a reason to stay out of the car.  So sorry to hear that you had another spill to add more aches, something you really didn't need.  Next time roll down your car window and take your pictures from the car.  Glad you didn't break anything.

Janet, thanks for the fine devotional.  It is easy to get our minds are mixed up when we suffer pain and the devotional helps straighten out fact from fiction as to who is responsible for the pain and disease.

Tbear, good to see you posting.  Have you started your new job?

Marilyn, I certainly hope you have complete satisfaction with your interview this morning and don't run into a "know it all" bureaucrat.

Hi Papa John.  Always good to see your comments and your words of encouragement.

Sue, hope your pizza soup turns out well.  It sure sounds good.

Guess I had better get busy on some projects I want to accomplish today.

A good Tuesday to you all . It is good to stand upon the word of God.
I like the word in psalms which says-Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
I 'm glad its not only a few days but today and tomorrow and the next the Lord will follow me showing his goodness and mercy.

Etta Sue

Euchere club went great and Small Groups was greater!  I prayed all the way to Small Groups for God to give me strenght to pray aloud and read aloud the scriptures and questions without stumbling over my two front teeth.  God is Great!

Today is another typical January day in Indiana.  Raining again.  The ground is saturated and my basement floor is covered with water.  So I will be checking off and on all day to see if the sump pump needs to be pumping.  It needs to be but it isn't submerged so the water has to get about 5 inches before the sump pump works.

Off to make some greeting cards!!

Well here is what was said at the end of the interview, "I will get that corrected for you and see if we can't get you some help with Medicare part D I will be sending you a letter in 1 week to 10 days with the decision."
There it is.

I had training this morning for the upcoming election day.  With a freezing rain warning in effect, this was a bit worrisome.  I made it up to Orangeville and back but did not stop at the grocery store for the ingredients needed to make the Pizza Soup, so that will wait until Thursday's dinner now.

Sounds like your meeting went well Marilyn.

Pat, don't go out today in the freezing rain.  We need you to stay healthy and broken bone free!

Must get off and get some laundry and other chores done.

Chris & Margit - those were GREAT!  I enjoyed them immensely, and so did Marbeth.  Deep River is Marbeth's favorite.

Oh Pat that is terrible you falling.  Do you remember Dad falling?  He looked like he had been beaten up.  I am willing to bet you do too!   Pat up your Vitimin C level.  It will help with the bruising.  If you need to go somewhere Call Nan,  She can drive you and with Al working close by it will be easier for her.  You may want to put ice on the bruising.

That picture is awesome.  It barely looks like winter.  I am taking my pictures in to be developed on friday.  I will email them to you.

Sue Are you getting the freezing rain yet?  We have had it since 3 this afternoon.  The roads are aweful.  I am teaching the girls what to look for in driving.  Icing mirrors and antennas.  I will never forget driving through Iowa and wondering why the antenae were whipping. I had been driving in Ice Fog. and the antennae were thick with ice.  I was thirsty and went into McD's and promptly fell flat on my butt.  Boy did I loose my nerve in driving the rest of that night!

John was on TV tonight!  AND I MISSED IT!!!  :ticked: He wa being interviewed about trucking.  I am hoping it will be on again tonight.  Pat A channel news.

Well I have to get after the girls to get homework done.

Bye for tonight

Pat

Hi Everyone...

Thanks for all your sympathetic messages.  I'll be just fine.  Glad you liked the picture!

It's lovely to come in here and read all your little messages of the day.  And I sure like to listen to Chris's music too.

Yes, Sue, lots of freezing rain here in Guelph.  No going out for me at all.  Even the dog doesn't want to go out!  :)

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY
(Click to hear music)
John W. Peterson, 1921-
Alfred B. Smith, 1916-1998

A pilgrim was I, and a'wandering,
In the cold night of sin I did roam,
When Jesus the kind Shepherd found me,
And now I am on my way home.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

He restoreth my soul when I'm weary,
He giveth me strength day by day;
He leads me beside the still waters,
He guards me each step of the way.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

When I walk thro' the dark, lonesome valley,
My Savior will walk with me there;
And safely His great hand will lead me
To the mansions He's gone to prepare.

CHORUS:
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life;
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life.

FINAL CHORUS:
And I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever,
And I shall feast at the table spread for me!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days, all the days of my life,
All the days, all the days of my life!
