JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Kevin:  I see some hills in the background.  In what area of the country?  I love any train pictures.

I live about an hour from Hiroshima, in Yamaguchi Prefecture.  The hills are in the proximity of the bridge I posted, which you can see in the gallery.

I like your train pictures too, Kevin.

I still have my grandson, Kaleb, with me.  He's coloring me a picture at the moment.  We printed some pages out last night.

Very good devotional reading today.  Pat, thanks for posting it for Al.  Poor guy....still no power. There is no comfort like the comfort of knowing that our Shepherd is shepherding us always.  Not one moment is his gaze diverted from his precious flock.  Knowing I am His, no matter what comes my way, is the thing that grips me and hold me more than any other thing.
It's all Him, and none of me. I am simply His. Praise God.

I remember singing with the kids, "Sunshine, Sunshine, in my soul today.......".  We'd do it for kid's church, but as we adults began singing, smiling at the kids, wanting them to sing with us, we'd soon be all happy and filled with the joy of the Lord.  Singing about that joy causes it to erupt within.  I guess this is what Geri was saying.

Marilyn, neat that you're finally getting your machine.   I hope you get used to it quickly, and are feeling the results of getting enough oxygen and more sleep soon.  I asked the Lord to give me patience and peace when getting used to it. :)  He must have.

Gotta run and receive my beautiful picture in style.  I've been instructed to "close your eyes and open your hands".   I'll do just that.

Well, here I finally am - after not having electric power from 8:30PM Saturday until about 11:15 this morning.  It gets COLD in this place when the furnace won't come on (electric thermostat control).  We can heat at least the front part of the mobilhome by turning on the gas oven on the stove, but we can't leave that on for too long, as it's a bit dangerous.  But a few hours ago I drove past the places where the poles came down and the wires had been on the ground, and the electric people had left, so I figured they must have finished, and, sure enough, about a half hour later the power was on! Sure feels better in here! Oh how dependent we have become!

Thanks so much for that devotional this morning, Pat.  It actually reminded me very much of Jack's little study on that psalm.

Oh did I ever have a lot of spam emails to clean out!  And then, after that, I read the two and a half days of posts in here that I had missed.

Papa John - I'm so very glad that our Father has lent Cornelia to you for a little longer, and I pray you'll both know His gracious presence in your lives from hour to hour together.

Welcome back to Electricity Land.

Larry Hanna

Just a quick note before turning in for tonight.  My cousin and his family just left to return to their motel, which is about an hour away.  It took them two hours to get here during rush hour so their visit was pretty short.  However, it was nice to share a meal and some quality time with them.  We are planning a cousin's reunion for the fall, probably in Denver.

Al, glad you have your power back.  We don't realize how dependent we are on the conveniences of modern life until we don't have them.

I had a nice little chat with Pat on MSN IM a little while ago.  I was showing my cousin's wife the "winks" on MSN IM and thought I had my wife's name clicked but it was Pat in Canada.  She helped me show some of the winks.  Thanks Pat.

Al, I know well how it is without the electricity.  The power all over several counties was out from around 10:30 Friday until 2:00 or so on Monday, a couple of weeks ago.  My thermostat has battery backup, but that doesn't help when you need electricity to run the propane furnace itself.  And I couldn't even use the oven because that lights from an electric pilot light.   :(  And cold?  How about 0 to 10 above with 50 to 70 mile an hour winds?

We all made out fine, though.  The town opened up a shelter for those who needed a place and with the cooperation of the town, village and all the subordinate departments and dozens of volunteers there were no major problems.  They even made sure all the elderly and disabled were taken care of.  Small town living is a beautiful thing.   :)

Thanks for the devotional, Pat.

This has been a busy place today.  It took ages to read all the posts.  Thanks for your kind thoughts regarding the death of my brother.

More rain today.  I had to go to the drugstore and see about having a medicine made to order.  The one I was taking has been discontinued..... :ticked:  Leaving many of us in a bad way.  Changing pharmacy as they were not helpful and have gone to one that specializes in compounding medicine.  Using a more natural approach.  Even took my medical history and is working out what will be best.  Why is life so complicated..... :'(

Interesting that you talked with Soni, Marilyn.  Sad that she and her husband have separated.

I have posted a couple of photo's of the cats.  They are not great, but might be of interest to pet lovers.  They have done very well for a couple of rescued cats.  Very happy and loving.

Small Smile anyone:

Tips For Staying Young

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight
and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you
pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts,
gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind
is the devil's workshop;" the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things. When the children are young,
that is all that you can afford. When they are in college,
that is all that you can afford. When you are on retirement,
>that is all that you can afford!

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
Laugh so much that you can be tracked in the store by your
distinctive laughter.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only
person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be alive
while you are alive, don't put out a mailbox on the highway
of death and just wait in residence for your mail.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it is family,
pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your
home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,
improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Go to the mall, the next county, a
foreign country, but not to guilt country.

10. Tell the people you love, that you love them, at every
opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER, Life is not measured by the
number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take
our breath away.

                       :) :) :)

Oh, I saw the movie 'Walk the Line' on DVD and it is good....if you are Johnny Cash & June Carter fans.  Which this person is...

Pleasant evening/day and God Bless.

Liz
