Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

To pray is nothing more involved
than to open the door,
giving Jesus access to our needs
and permitting Him to exercise
His own power in dealing with them.

Morning Devotional...

The Concerns of Jesus
Matthew 9:27-38  NLT

27After Jesus left the girl's home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting, "Son of David, have mercy on us!"

28They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them, "Do you believe I can make you see?"

"Yes, Lord," they told him, "we do."

29Then he touched their eyes and said, "Because of your faith, it will happen." 30And suddenly they could see! Jesus sternly warned them, "Don't tell anyone about this." 31But instead, they spread his fame all over the region.

32When they left, some people brought to him a man who couldn't speak because he was possessed by a demon. 33So Jesus cast out the demon, and instantly the man could talk. The crowds marveled. "Nothing like this has ever happened in Israel!" they exclaimed.

34But the Pharisees said, "He can cast out demons because he is empowered by the prince of demons."

35Jesus traveled through all the cities and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And wherever he went, he healed people of every sort of disease and illness. 36He felt great pity for the crowds that came, because their problems were so great and they didn't know where to go for help. They were like sheep without a shepherd. 37He said to his disciples, "The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. 38So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send out more workers for his fields."

How do you picture Jesus caring for you?

Jesus didn't respond immediately to the blind men's pleas.  He waited to see how earnest they were.  Not everyone who says he or she wants help really wants it badly enough to do something about it.  Jesus may have waited and questioned these men to make their desire and faith stronger.

If it seems as if God is too slow in giving an answer to your prayers, maybe he is testing you as he did the blind men.  Do you believe God can help you?  Do you really want his help?

Enjoy your vacation Etta Sue and thank you for the devotional today.  Yes we need to become a squeeky wheel at the throne.  He does need to see our earnestness!

This has been a long day I am off to bed.

Night all

Hi everyone.

Another busy day and I must leave in about 5 minutes.  Today is my bi-monthly retiree's luncheon and it takes me almost an hour to get there.  Then I will come back by the church for Calvin Cove before coming home.

Nothing new here.  I am doing well as long as I am not doing anything physical.  We have a big moving truck in front of our house as neighbor's two door away are in the process of moving to Michigan.  I think the moving company is packing up yesterday and today.

Liz, sorry to read that you haven't been feeling well again.  Guess we are going to have to shake you and Pat up in a sack.  Hope the flu season is about over up your way.

Guess I better be heading out the door.

Pat

Enjoy your luncheon, Larry!  Talk to you later!

(Good luck shaking me up in a sack! )

It is a lovely day here in Kansas, a bit cool, but the wind is only blowing medium hard, and for March, that is a good day.  ;)

Ruth, thank you for that suggestion for a "grabber" or whatever it is called for Beth.  She does have one of those, and it is a big help to her.  Thank you all for continuing to pray for us.

Today after Darrel and I worked out, we stopped by Beth's to fix her washer.  The girl from Home Health had loaded and started it, and it got unbalanced and danced its leg right off!  :o  It had messed up the threads on the "leg" and we had quite a time getting it to set level again, involving squeezing through about a 5 inch space to work on the back legs, too.  But we got it done.  Always something.  My buddy Pat is over there cleaning house for Beth.

Marilyn, I wish you, and all the ladies here, could attend our upcoming womens gathering at our church.  It's called "Suddenly," and I think it is going to be wonderful.  Lots and lots of preparation and prayer are going into the planning of it.  It will be March 24 and 25.

Diane is coming up to attend some kind of meeting on trees today and I am meeting her for lunch.  This is a rare treat for us, and I know we will enjoy it.

I must get busy, have ladies coming to paint this afternoon.  Talk to yoiu all later!

RUTH ANN!!!  So good to see you!  (((hugs)))

Thank you for the devotional today Pat.

QuoteSometimes there are other reasons for delayed prayers!
You are right about answers to prayer.  I believe that is why we are instructed to pray "Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven."  Thank you for that reminder.

Today is a snow day.  We had freezing rain, and our road was just sanded at 10:00 am.  It is nice to have the girls at home.

Well have a good day everyone.

Liz

I was up at 4:45 A.M. this morning, looked out the window, thought "How Wonderful, it's not another wet day."  At 6 A.M. it started to snow....and snow...and everything is all white!!  Has finally stopped and the sun is out...so hopefully the snow will soon melt away.  The kids slept in as the alarm didn't go off and had an 8:15 A.M. appt. with a specialist in Victoria.....I was not aware it was this morning or would have phoned upstairs.  The Malahat is not nice in rain and even worse in snow...so hope all went well.  Not a terrific start to the day  ::)

Not sure a sack would be nice...but thanks anyway, Larry.

I must go and start on my Income Tax.  Dreaded stuff....

Have a pleasant day/evening and God Bless.

Liz

Nita

Somehow I can't imagine Pat and Liz getting well by being shaken in a sack.

Larry, you are really up on things.  I'm sure this must be the latest released information, after a lengthy trial, of skillions of people being shaken in a sack and coming out all well. (dizzy, but heh....)

But really.............is this an old saying or just yours?  I laughed out loud when I read that.

Marilyn, how did you do last night?

I always look for posts from our Papa John.

Geri-Jean, your heart message  in Manna For The Soul really blessed me.

I guess Etta Sue is enjoying herself in Florida.  I think that's where she was going.  Is that right?  I will look for pictures when she gets back.

We had hail earlier, and now the sun is out.  I need to get to the store.

Let me bless God today.  Let us bless God today.  Our Father is so worthy.

Marilyn

Well Nita I am glad to hear the you got some sun, we sure haven't had any sun today just cold, cold rain.  Last night I think  got a little too much water in the humidifier  when I noticed it was down, so I gt the rain effect. So I took it off when I noticed it was too wet of air. this morning I saw that the  pillow holder had water in it.

Hello all!!

I had a Sunday School teacher ask us one time, "What answers does God give to prayers?"  After a few minutes, the class had come up with, "Yes, No, Wait."  Roger then proceeded to tell us there is really only one answer, "MY grace is sufficient."  sometimes that grace is "Yes."  The rest of the time, it is just grace.

Not exactly on topic for what ya'll were saying, but it ran through my mind. ;)

Etta Sue:  I enjoyed the devotional this morning.

Wow I am on vacation for a week, the time will really fly I know.

Tomorrow I am taking my aunt out grocery shopping then stopping for lunch at her favorite Rest. Chinese Food in New Market followed by a few other stores for shopping then we will head for home.

We had rain this morning but it did remain cloudy all day.

For those of you with the flu and cold are you taking your Vit - C or as my dear mother-in-law would say have a cup of hot lemon a day all winter and yes it does work.

Papa John

Sorry I haven't reported in for a couple of days.  Things are going here about the same.  We think we see a little improvement in Cornelia's condition each day.  Tomorrow is going to be a little hard on her.  We take her to one place in the morning at 8:30 for an MRI.  We will come home for her to rest awhile and then take her to the hospital to the Cariioligist's office for an office visit at 1:00.

Our volunteer nursing from church will end Sunday and beginning Monday we will be on our own with the exception of Home Nursing Service which involves a nurse coming to check on her twice a week

Thanks Papa John for the update.  May our Father specially supply all your needs!

It's been raining here off and on, and it's been hailing a little as well.

Jeanne Lee

Papa John, slow but sure for Cornelia's improvement is the way to go.  I pray you'll get encouraging news tomorrow.

Nothing much to report from here.  30's and rain and that's about it.  But rain's a good thing - my windshield washer fluid needs to be refilled and now it can wait.

Liz, what is the Malahat?  "The Malahat is not nice in  rain and even worse in snow...so hope all went well. "  I wish you could send us your snow, we are in such a drought here.

A painting friend of mine went to India on a three weeks mission trip.  I spoke to her today, and she said the trip was wonderful, the people were great, the country was beautiful....but she never wants to go there again.  She hated the food!  She said she got so sick of even the smell of it, she couldn't eat a bite, and lived the last three days on orange pop.  She got sick and lost seven pounds.  I'm anxious to talk to her more about it later.

I wasn't through reading the posts, but wanted to ask Liz that question, now I will go finish reading them.

Janet

Larry, am I the only other one who has heard and understands your "shaking them up in a sack" comment?   Another one my folks used to say when two people were a lot alike in something, was "We should tie them together and throw them over the clothesline."  Now, what good either would actually do is left to each one of our own imaginations!  ^-^

My Abby is now on Spring break, so she will be spending some time with Grandma.  She can hardly wait!  But her Mom wants her to go somewhere with her tomorrow, so she has to wait at least another day.  She is working to learn Spanish now, which I think is great, having another language is always an advantage.  And about two-thirds of her second-grade class is Hispanic, so she has lots of help.

Darrel just got home from Men's Bible Study, so I need to talk to him a bit.

Oh, my goodness, Janet.. The clothesline would surely break if you tried to throw me over it!  LOL

Janet, the Malahat is an especially dangerous stretch of highway that has seen many bad and fatal accidents for years.  Not easy driving when weather conditions are bad and dangerous when good.  Not entirely certain other than drivers are not careful....

Malahat

Spectacular views over the Saanich Inlet and across the Gulf Islands
Named after the Malahat First Nation, this rugged region of heavy forest and steep cliffs is traversed by one of the most beautiful roadways in the world.

First cut as a cattle trail in 1861, it was upgraded to wagon-road standards in 1884, and became a paved road in 1911 - the Malahat Drive climbs to a summit of 356 metres (1,156 ft).

In spite of the highway, the Malahat is of great ceremonial significance to the Malahat First Nation, whose ancestors used the caves for spiritual enchancement - this mountain is one of the most sacred sites on southern Vancouver Island.

Travelling north from Victoria, Malahat Drive climbs through imposing mature forests and over rugged mountainside before dropping down into the Cowichan Valley.

They came back safely.  Were late and Wendy had to wait for her appt. and was grateful he fit her in.....When the results from her MRI finally convinced her GP how serious her condition is, the Specialist took her within one week.  Most have to wait 6 months to one yr. to see him....so that gives some indication of her condition.  He gave her six Cortosone shots in her neck this time and will chart the progress.  Could not touch her back at this time....she can barely walk.  Both upper and lower parts are badly damaged and  cause severe constant pain.

I am not happy about the Cortosone Shots as they are not always the best....but he is the top specialist on the island and has a good reputation.  So can only pray that there will be some relief and help from all this.  Will have to trust in God and simply go on praying.

God Bless.

Liz

Thanks for the lesson Liz!

Karmat Thankyou for that explaination.  Yes it really is Grace.

I was listening to the weather chanel tonight, and the forcast is for a lot of rain in the next dayor so.  If we have that amount we will have some flooding.  Not good.  I am praying for a few cold days to slow the thaw down.  There is such a lot of snow in the bush.

A dear friend of ours was into the bush on Monday taping the trees for maple syrup.  I have put in my order.

Well I am tired tonight it has been a busy day.  So Night all
