JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

"Mortification of the flesh is the
true place of power in the Spirit."

~W. Kelly~

Morning Devotional...

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1 Corinthians 7:3

The word apodidomi is translated "render" and "benevolence" in this verse.

Seven times in scripture it is rendered "reward" and twice "to yield."  So what are husbands and wives to do?

In the two-person relationship of marriage there should be a continual yielding and rewarding of one another.  Mutual sacrifice in the absence of independent thinking is the rule.

"So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself" (Eph 5:28).

Have you rewarded your spouse today?
--Warren Henderson

Love is not blind--
it sees more, not less.
But because it sees more,
it is willing to see less.

I emailed a few of you, as I couldn't seem to "log in"...however, my mistake.  Please excuse me.

just a note to say goodbye for a couple of weeks.  We are off to Florida for a well needed rest!

Hi everyone.

Another weekend is here and I am going to a pancake breakfast this morning at the local Masonic Hall.  I have atteneded several times before and they use it as a fund raiser to support scholarships.  Then will go on to the cafe.

Our son is planning on coming over today to do some chores for us like putting out the fire ant killer and bug killer on the yard and around the house.  I have a whole list of items.  Yesterday he wasn't feeling very good so this may have to be postponed until Monday.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional.  I really like your little weather graphic.  Can you post the link as would like to add that to my signature here on CP.

Marilyn, thanks for the link for the TBN media player.  I hadn't seen this but bookmarked it for future use.  Pat fixed cornbeef and cabbage with potatoes for dinner last night.  It was very good but the cornbeef was almost too salty.

Nita, how long will the heating oil last you?  That is ever more costly than gasoline.

Hi Keven.

Jeanne, our children grow up so quickly.  Hope you are able to see your grandson often.

Well, it is about time to leave for the breakfast.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Judy McKenna, hope you have a great and restful trip to Florida.  It should be pretty warm down there.

Pat's aunt and cousin, that we visited in Florida, are stopping by here next Thursday and we expect they will stay until Sunday.  This is a very pleasant surprise as we didn't anticipate they would ever come here.

Ritz

:coffee: Good morning all! Thanks for the lovely reminder of what a marriage is supposed to look like Pat! That was beautiful.

Judy, enjoy Florida...I've never been but I hear it's pretty.

Larry enjoy the flapjacks!

Marilyn, Thanks for the link, I'll check it out later. Do you still ride?

Peace and a great and God-filled weekend to Y'all! Ritz.

Pat

Good Morning Everyone! :coffee:

Judy, I hope you have a great time away.  It was nice having tea with you and Norm last evening.

Larry, here's the URL:  http://www.wunderground.com/  The code that they give you is HTML and you have to change it to our BB code.  I'll help anyone who wants help.  I think it's neat too to see what weather folks are having in their areas.  In some instances, you'll have to find the closest city to where you live as I'm sure that they don't have every little town and village available.

Hi Ritz!  I spent some time last evening on your website again.   :)

And the hands on the clock keep goin' around.........as the old song says.  My, hard to believe another week has flown, never to return!

Jeanne, I hope Spring makes its appearance in your area soon!

Nita, that price is outrageous!  And I thought propane was awful. :o  I'm sure the deliveryman was relieved to have such a kind response to his accident.  Bless you.

Pat, good to see you back from London.  Were the driving conditions bad?

Larry, so happy to read of your daughter's job offer, and I pray she will have the health and strength to handle her responsibilities and be a blessing to the firm.  It is so sad that your whole family has health problems.  Nice that your son comes over to help with things around your place.

JudyMc, enjoy (hopefully) sunny and warm Florida.  Wish I could tag along, it is so dry and dreary here.

We got home from Amarillo about 9 last night with Beth's new van.  It is really nice, and I believe will be a blessing to her and to us, and enable her to be able to get out a bit more often without really putting a strain on me.  It had 15,000 miles on it when I left Amarillo, as it is a program vehicle, but the whole conversion is new, so both the vehicle and the conversion equipment are in warranty.  Darrel is reading the manual on the equipment to learn more about how it works.

We stopped in Hugoton and picked up grandsons Justin, 17, and Addison, 12, and Abby wanted to come back home with us, too, so she is here until later today.  She and Addison get along really well.  As soon as they decide what they would like to eat, I will get some breakfast for them.  They slept in this morning.

We ran through a nice rain shower between Dumas and Amarillo yesterday, and it sprinkled a little in Amarillo, but not nearly enough.  They are so dry, too.......and they have been having all those terrible prairie fires in the Texas panhandle.  RAIN!!! WE WANT RAIN!!!

See you later!

That's strange, Marilyn.  It's been there for about a week.

I see you've added one, Ritz!  Nice temperature where you are!

Hi Janet...  The driving was wonderful to London and back.  I'm happy that you now have a new van for Beth.  We'll have to see photos of it.

Does anyone else NOT see the little weather sticker in my signature?  Right now, you can see how chilly it is here!  Brrrrrr...

Well, the temperature has gone up one degree in the last hour!  That's great!   Maybe I'll get out and get some sunset photos this evening.

I like my temp. thingy since it shows both F and C and all the temps in Canada are C now.  I never thought I'd get used to that but now I am.  :clobber:

Marilyn, you might have to check your settings in your browser to "Show All Pictures" or something.  Not sure what browser you use.  And it might be a firewall problem as well.  Both Ritz and I have the temperature now in our signatures.

Just over in the glory land
(Click to hear music)

I've a home prepared where the saints abide
Just over in the glory land
And I long to be by my Saviour's side
Just over in the glory land

Just over in the glory land
I'll join the happy angel band
Just over in the glory land
Just over in the glory land
There with the mighty host I'll stand
Just over in the glory land

I am on my way to those mansions fair
Just over in the glory land
There to sing God's praises and his glory share
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

What a joyful thought that my Lord I'll see
Just over in the glory land
And with kindred saved, there forever be
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

With the blood washed throng I will shout and sing
Just over in the glory land
Glad hosannas to Christ, the Lord and King
Just over in the glory land

Refrain

So anyway Thanks Pat for the devotional. I am not going to worry myself over not being able to see the weather thingy or to get that site to Download  for me. My computer is just being a pain in the neck this morning.

Today since the sun is shining I am taking Fay out to the Hardware store and the grocery store. I think she has cabin fever over being cooped up for so long in the rain.

Gotta go now

Good day to all. Its a chilly day here today but I am sure its going to warm up :)
Good devotional Pat.
I am of to my friends today and I am looking forward to church tomorrow.
Have a great weekend. God Bless

Janet

It is cold and windy here today.  Ritz, I have even experienced -25 degrees, and with wind to boot!  Wind chill factor must have been around a minus 60 or so. BRRRRR!  But not lately.  This has been the warmest winter on record for a large area around here---meaning several states.  And also one of the driest.  Not a good thing.

My grands are sitting around the dining table doing artwork!  :)  Nice!  The boys are such sweet kids, and get along with each other so well, too.  And of course, both enjoy Abby, so she is very happy today.

Marilyn, I liked the St. Patrick's day thing you put in yesterday.  I just wasn't here to tell you so, but now I'm here, so now I am.  ???

I am trying to think of things to cook that the boys will like.  Right now, I have a crockpot of stew simmering.  Really, it is vegetable soup with hamburger added.  ::)  They said they like fish, so we will be cooking fish one day, for sure.

This is a nice lazy day, so enjoyable after being constantly on the run for a while.  I may even get lazy!  ;)

Justin wants to do some wood-burning, but I don't have a tool, and no store in town has one, either.  Wish I had known that yesterday, I could have gotten him one.  He wants to do an art project for a school class.

Pat, my camera broke, remember?  :'(  I guess I will get out the other one and use it for a while, until I decide what camera I want to buy for a replacement.  I'm still so frustrated about mine freezing up.  :ticked:

Beth hasn't even seen her new vehicle, as it's too cold to get her out today.  But we will be taking her to church in it tomorrow, unless the weather is REALLY bad.

Okay, you're right, I'm just blathering on.....so now I'm stopping. :clobber:

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God
doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick
people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I
am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did,
there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards,
like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."
"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES
exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for
Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Nita

Hi, all.  Two men were here to fix my front porch.  They did a really nice job.  They wanted to paint when the weather dries, but I told them I could do that.

Larry, I was looking over my oil bills and it was 90 days ago I had it filled.  I think it's been extra cold or something, or maybe I've just been extra cold, but I've sure used more oil than usual.  And when I got this Monitor oil stove, it was supposed to be the most economical on the market.  Gas prices were down too!  It may get where it's cheaper to use an electric heater part time.  Im hoping this oil will last me till the end of summer.  I can bundle up. :)

Pat, I can see your weather thingee...and your time. :)   I'll scroll back and look at the link.

Now it's dog bathing time, so I'll go get Rocko in the tub.  I promised him yesterday,  and you just know that he's excited about that. haha

ok, Pat.  How do I put the weather thing on my posts?  Do you have to have a website?

Cool, Marilyn.  I see you have one now. :)

I've been having a time trying to change ISP and decide which of 3 email addresses I want to use!   :-\  It has been an "experience" to say the least.  My computer keeps freezing up and I have to reboot often.  It may have something to do with the popup blocker(s) ... I already had one and then peoplepc has one automatically on my account.  I just disabled one of them (the one I had installed) and will see what happens this time.

I did have quite a lengthy message ready to post a while ago but lost it when my puter froze!   :clobber:

Nita I'm glad you got your porch fixed ... I wish mine was.   :-\  In fact I wish both my porches were fixed!  That will have to go on the list with all the other things I need done around here.
BTW it HAS been plenty cold around here lately!  Remember the snow?  And hail? I've been chopping wood every day between rain showers.  My neighbor always wants to do this for me so I just wait until they aren't home before going out to chop.   :)

I've been wanting to get some work done in the yard but don't have the tools.  (good excuse).  I will probably need to get some plants to replace the ones I want taken out ... and then (maybe) I'll just have someone do the work for me.  At least I'm thinking about it!  Oh well ..........

I also need to get some work done inside the house today ... Nothing is going to get done, inside or outside, if I remain stuck in front of this computer much longer.   :clobber:

Soooooo I'll see all y'all later ... hopefully.   :-\
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

If you go to the site and put in your zipcode, then choose the little thingy at the bottom that you want to use, you then put in the code in your profile.

I like the one I have as it gives both F and C and the time here.
