Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

"When filled with holy truth the mind rests."
~C. H. Spurgeon~

Morning Devotional...

But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
Luke 16:25

One of the greatest horrors of hell will be the memory--thinking of the
times that God's offer of salvation was presented but it was not accepted.

In hell, there will be memories of every rejected gospel invitation. What a solemn thought. The rich man is still there today and he remembers every opportunity that he missed.

Turn to the Lord today and be saved from this awful place.

Life At Best Is Very Brief

Author:  Author Unknown, 19th Century
Musician:  William J. Kirkpatrick, 1838-1921

Life at best is very brief,
Like the falling of a leaf,
Like the binding of a sheaf:
Be in time.
Fleeting days are telling fast
That the die will soon be cast,
And the fatal line be passed:
Be in time.

Refrain:
Be in time, be in time;
While the voice of Jesus calls you,
Be in time.
If in sin you longer wait,
You may find no open gate,
And your cry be just too late:
Be in time.

Fairest flowers soon decay,
Youth and beauty pass away;
O you have not long to stay:
Be in time.
While God's Spirit bids you come,
Sinner, do no longer roam,
Lest you seal your hopeless doom:
Be in time.

Sinner, heed the warning voice,
Make the Lord your final choice;
Then all heaven will rejoice:
Be in time.
Come from darkness into light;
Come, let Jesus make you right;
Come, and start for heaven tonight:
Be in time
.

Well, well ... I get to be first!   :D

I've already been to church and back.  A local church has services on Saturday night as well as two on Sunday mornings.  I have been going with my neighbors and we like the smaller, more casual group that meets on Saturday.  The pastor preaches the same message all three times.

Marilyn, Yountville is by Napa.  Tom has always referred to it as "the old soldiers home" and I really don't understand why he is suddenly acting and talking as if he has reached the end of life already.   :-\  He had a slight stroke last summer, and has been afflicted with other problems that leave him confused (best way I can describe it) and he is hard of hearing.  Hopefully he will snap out of it after a while.  And, yes, I did get your email.   :)

Janet and Larry~ Bryan has been struggling for some time now, and still has a long way to go, but he has his feet on solid ground and is determined to stay "plugged in" to his young adult group at his church and he has even been writing songs lately.  A counsellor told him that is a good way to express his emotions.  Problem there is the emotion he feels and expresses most often is anger!   ::)  That will change.  Someday.

The garage sale was not a problem for me because it was basically my neighbors who made the signs and put them out and, since we share a carport, all I had to do was take my card table full of stuff out and set up along side of theirs.  I had some books out and a man wanted westerns for a friend who collects them.  I told him I had a set of Zane Grey ... hardback ... and just came in the house and got them out of the bookcase and he was a happy camper.  Someone else asked about something and I said "Just a minute" ... came in the house and returned with that item.  I didn't put much out at first because I didn't know how it would go.  Next time I'll know and have a bunch of stuff on display ... probably then there won't be anything anyone wants, though.   ???  Like my mother used to say "Some days you just can't win for losing" ...  :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Good Morning! I pray that the Lord would use each of us today to give someone one of those invatations. I pray also that they would accept it, if not from us, someone. It's not his will that any perish, but that all would come to know the truth! Peace Y'all. :coffee:

Janet

Good morning! :)

I thought about posting again last night, but since things never seem as dark in the morning, I decided to wait.  The stress and heartache over Beth just keeps intensifying.  :'(   Home health says that now that her burns have healed, she no longer qualifies for their services!  Can you imagine?  She cannot even take care of herself enough to shower and keep herself clean, can't walk, struggles just to get into and out of bed...........but she doesn't need help?  :o  They said if she doesn't need skilled nursing care, they won't help her.

I went over to try to get her a shower, but I just cannot handle her by myself.  Now what???  They promised to try to hook her up with another service that would come three times a week to help her shower, change her bed, etc., and now they say she doesn't qualify?  My question is, who does??  Beth asked me last night if I want her to spill some more boiling water on herself.  NO!!  Of course, she wasn't serious.  But this is frustrating beyond words.  She can't even go to church this morning, because she can't shower and get cleaned up.  >:( :(

Today is Darrel's final day on his Walk to Emmaus.  I can't wait for him to come home, so I can hear his report!!

I am singing on the worship team this morning, so best be about getting ready to go.  Practice starts at 9:00.

See you later!

Janet.  I am praying for you and Beth.

Marilyn

Janet I too am getting very frustrated that there is not help for Beth. I sent you an email on this subject. So won't get on my soapbox here.

Good Morning everyone. I am ready for church and will be fixin'' something to eat shortly. It is a beautiful day here, cool and lots of sun, just the way I like it. I am so glad that I am out of the desert.

Pat the devotional this morning really hits home re: my children and grands. Some are saved and some are not. Most of the Grands are not. I pray every day for their salvation. What hearts are the one who do not want to even hear about it.

Jane I knew I had seen signs for Yountville someplace on the way up here on 101. LOL My neighbors are having a yard sale soon and I have been giving them clothing and shoe donation that were given to me. I took 2 boxes of knick knacks to the mission thrift store last earlier this month. I guess I will have to get busy and do some more sorting and see what I can come up with. I have a whole box of brass knick knacks and lots more that I need to downsize. Hopefully I will get around to it before the yard sale.

Well we are back from the awards ceremonies.  Melaura's squadron won best "Drill With Arms".  Another team won the overall Championship by 0.34 points!  That is all that was between them and the championship.  Warrant Officer Blackwell of North Bay (Melaura/s Squadron) won the top championship for a drill commander.  The team won top marks for the best dressed Squad.  Way to go North Bay!

Sault St. Marie Drum and Bugal Sea Cadet Corps was amazing.   They won all the top awards in this area of competition.  They were amazing, but they have the advantage of playing together as a team since they were ten years old in Navy League.

We have dull damp weather here today, cold penetrating +8*C  Pat I think you have rain as well.

Janet can you appeal to a congressman or someone in government?  There has to be something that can be done.  You I think, need to go over the heads of those in charge locally.  I think as ong as you are able to do it they will expect you to.  If you are unable....What will they do then?  Things are so different from up here in Ontario.

One of our neighbours are burniing their fields today.  I think we will get a permit to do purs tomorrow.  This makes the grass so much healthier. and gets rid of all the dead grass and leaves.

Well I have to go, talk later you later.

Judy

Marilyn

Hi there again I have been trying to do some PSP stuff that just isn't working for me so here I am taking a break from it for awhile.

The service this  morning was our youth sharing the experiences at youth camp. Some awesome things happened to them at camp. At the end of the service the Pastors and the deacons anointed everyone who went forward hands with oil and prayed over them. Title of the sermon was "There is Power in Your Hands" It was all bout the laying on of hands. I walked to and from church this morning and will do so again  when I go for prayer meeting and evening service. I will have to come back home before it gets dark service should be over by then.

Janet I certainly agree with JudyB about  talking to your congressman about getting a home care workers program going in your county. California and other sates and countries have programs that take care of the Aged, disabled, and handicapped. It is not all laid on the families. what if the person has no family to take care of them., Where do they go then? If you need some help writing letters I will be glad to help you  have written many letters to our local government regarding the Home care workers. Only my letters were in behalf of the workers and the clients together. Who would care for them if it were not for the Care Providers.

We are professional Care Providers who have been through  training and been certified by the Caregiver Registry to provide  in home care for those who can't care for themselves. That's why it is call the 'In Home Supportive services Program" It is through the county but we are paid by the State.

There are some client who are not qualified to receive county help and pay for the care provider themselves. I have one client who  pays me herself $10.per hour for housekeeping services and errands. I take her to all doctor appointments and shopping trips, hair appointments etc. Just like I do for those who  receive county services.

Now you all know what I do TMI On my soapbox again.

Janet, I will be praying that God will be in control and you WILL get some help from someone for Beth.   Sorry to hear about all the trouble.

I have a new couple in my basement and they have been on my computer quite a bit.    Got home from church and decided to check in.

Judy B:  Great news on Melaura's competition!  That takes a lot of work!  No one should burn their grass in this area as we are on high hazard fire alert.... :-X

Janet:  I didn't know that Beth had burned herself.  It will take alot of prayer to get a good answer for you.

It is getting a bit late and we are weary from the drive & visiting with our daughter & family.

We son't be on a fire alert tillthe end of June.  Even in the summer often we van burn our garbage.  I personally don't as it takes a lot of care and with young kids I feel the risk is too high.

Marilyn I like your soap box,  You echoed what I was thinking.

Gord I see you emailled me.  How is the Job?  Get some sleep you will need it for work.

John is off till tuesday afternoon.  Woohoo it is wonderful having him home.

Got to go.  It is after 11 and I still have a bit of prep for tomorrow.

Night all

Janet

Darrel is home!!  YEA!!!  He had a really good weekend, met great people and learned a lot.  He has been talking non-stop for over an hour (in the shower now) and for a quiet guy like him, that's a lot!  He says he knows I will really enjoy my Walk next weekend.

I had a post all done when he got home, but ran to meet him, and whn I got back to my computer, it was frozen up and I had to reboot, so of course, lost the post.

JudyB, please congratulate Melaura for me on the competition, that's really great.  I don't know anything at all about that organization, but it sounds like good training for the young ones.

Marilyn (and all of you who are faithfully praying about Beth's situation) she was getting help from Home Health, but they say that now that the burns are healed, and she no longer needs the care of a skilled nurse, she doesn't need help.  Now, I think that is just crazy.  She needs help!  I need help to hlep her!  Even though I am in excellent health and am strong, I cannot physically do all she needs.  And it shouldn't be my respinsibility to do it all.  Anyway, several from church are praying about it, and a few promised to make inquiries and see what they can find out.

Beth doesn't qualify for a lot of services:  they say they are only for the elderly; or for those on Medicaid; or for the mentally handicapped.  Well, if they want her to sp;end every cent she has saved, so she can get on Medicaid, we can do that, too.  I think we will look for an individual (or more) who will come and help her for private pay.  But I still think help should be available other than that.  It sure wouldn't take long to spend the rest of her money if she has to hire someone privately!

Well, I will shut down and see if I can get Darrel to talk more about his experience.  This is great!   :) :) :)
