Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Isaiah 40:1

Grief therapist, Robert Gordon, was awed by the devastation of the WorldTrade Center. Many were the comments made to him as he counselled victims of that atrocity.

One little fellow wanted to know if his daddy's cell phone worked in heaven.

A little girl wished to give her pillow to her Mommy, who she felt would need it in heaven.

Thank God every comfort will be provided by our beloved Lord when we reach that glorious place.

There's Just Something About That Name
(Click to here music)

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
There's just something about that name
Master, Saviour, Jesus
Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms
Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name.

Nice devotional and hymn, Pat.  I just finished reading the one from yest. about  'He is Altogether Lovely' and it reminded me of something I read recently:

Altogther lovely,
He is altogether lovely,
And the fairest of ten thousand,
This wonderful Friend divine;
He gave Himself to save me,
Now He lives in heav'n to keep me,
He is altogether lovely,
Is this wonderful Savior of mine.

It was written in 1931 by Wendell P. Loveless......I like it better than the more modern version used in churches.

Seems everyone is getting lots of bad news lately.  Me to!  Wendy now has borderline diabetes, thyroid problem and high cholesterol.  She is seeing lots of specialists about her problems from the accident and diabetes and cholesterol seem to be part of the package.  The thyroid problem seems to be my fault....and so it goes :'(  I am not sure how much more her little body can take.

Colder today....we keep having wind, heat, showers....all on the same day ::)
Feels like I'm still living in Calgary.  Had a busy day and feeling all of my seventy plus years.  Think it is time to go and give Misty a hug.

SIL is taking us out for a fabulous brunch on Mother's Day, come Sunday.  Nice!
Amanda had her 19th Birthday on Wednesday.  I was ill for a few days and missed out on the fun.  Didn't even get any pictures to record the event.  Boy, time surely does zoom by.

I enjoyed your joke the other day, Marilyn.  Also the one you posted, Janet.

Time to go.  Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Madness and Merriment!

Mrs. Noah had her hands full...beasts and boys and burdensome chores; noises and nightmares--and never-mind the bugs! It was a "madhouse" for a LONG time, but she survived! She knew this was God's plan and in GOD'S plan, we always survive. Mrs. Noah didn't have a dishwasher, a microwave, a washer and drier--or a computer! She couldn't email her friends--or download a chocolate dessert--and yet, she managed to KEEP her sanity, to live "one day at a time," and to know God was with her.
We moms face endless days and nights of "mad" living--if you've got "normal" kids, you understand! There are days when you think you will completely lose it--and then the next day, you look back and laugh.....Why? Because God has made us with a sense of humor to see the funny side of life. It may take a day or so--but we laugh and re-count and write in our diaries the misdeeds and madness of the "funhouse" we operate. Merriment is a part of making it work, you know. A sense of humor is God's gift to help us get through all of our endless days and never-ending nights -- He got Mrs. Noah through it all, and He will do the same for us!

                  :) :) :) :)

Pray as if it all depends on God,
and work as if it all depends on you!

God Bless,

Liz

Good Morning I have been awake  since very early , I didn't sleep well last night.  I don't use an alarm clock although I do have a clock radio, so I must have been  worried about not getting up early enough. I have to be at Jan's at 7:15. It will make for a long day. I  have to take Forest to a Birthday party at noon at a pizza parlor in Arcata. Not that far away. I have to go to Blue Lake to get the kids after the graduation and bring them back here, before the party.

Just thinking about all this is making me tired already. Oh Lord give me the strength to get through today.

Good morning!  God's in His heaven and all's right with the world.  The only way we can say that is in faith!  ;)  But I'm so glad He is God, and I am NOT!

The mother-daughter banquet was very nice.  Diane came, and I took Beth and met Diane there.  Abby got sick at school, was throwing up, so Diane had to go get her, and she didn't get to come.  The entertainment was a Sweet Adelines quartet from Colorado Springs who call themselves "The VERY Light Opera Company" and they were really enjoyable.  They were all dressed in Red Hat regalia, and sang oldies songs, joked and cut up, really a good program.  They said they have been singing together for over 30 years!  Three of the four are originally from Kansas!  ;) :)

Nita, thank you SO much for your kind and encouraging words.  I will print them out to read again and again in those times (too often) when I feel a little better and start thinking I can do it all (by myself) again.  I know you have gone through a similar situation, and your counsel is wise.  ((((hugs))))

Etta Sue, you must post a photo of you as a Red Hatter!!  And thank you for that sweet little-girl kiss!  That graphic is adorable!

I took the very first pics with my new camera last night, so am anxious to get them on this computer and take a look at them!  Like Marilyn, I have a busy day, so better be getting with it!  See you later.

Good Morning folks...

Thanks to those of you who have posted in Anna's Koinonia Gallery. (Link in the first post above to it)  I will tell her later on that she's being featured and it will be encouraging for her to see the comments.

So happy you had a good time last night, Janet.  Not nice about Abby though.  :(

Fixed your link to the Gallery Ritz. :)

That would make me tired too, Marilyn!

Liz, I'm so sorry about the new developments in Wendy's health.  Praying for you both.

Pat, I very seldom clicked on the clickable on dial up because they took so much time but now that I have high speed internet, I am clicking away!  My, I have missed a lot!  I just hope that when I post the NEM's, that I remember to put in the current 'From Our Forums'.

I moving along this morning.  I was up late......1:30a.m. working on this pc and earthlink.  I turned everything off when I went to bed and this morning I couldn't get online.  But a reboot worked.  I will be glad when the bugs are worked out!  Nothing new is as easy as 1-2-3!

Off to the Historical Society this afternoon.  Got to grab a bite to eat and get ready!

Will let you know what my award is later today!!

Good morning everyone.

God is SO GOOD.  All the Time!

Marilyn we have coffee "hour" at church as well.  It is more like a half hour to 45 minutes.  Pastor Dennis has said that "More ministry happens in that time than in the service over the next hour and a half to two hours.  Strangers are welcomed and made  to feel at home.

We have a busy weekend ahead, and I am off doing other things today.

Those prayer requests are held up to the throne here in Powassan.

Bye for now
Judy

  :-[  :idiot:  How I wish I had a computer/other devices literate person here to help me with my new camera!  I think I ruined one of my memory cards because I took some photos without "reformatting" the card.  :P  Now the photos are there, but I can't get them onto the computer, see them on the card reader or on my new printer which also reads cards.  It says "device not readable.  Possible damage."  >:(  Rats!  Why must everything be so blasted complicated, anyway??

Darrel helped me, and we formatted all the rest of my cards, plus the new 1 MG one I bought, so I guess I am ready to take some pictures now.  But I can't show you the ones I took last night.  :P

I need to go cut some mats!

Papa John

Good morning.   :D  Another Saturday and we have company, Beth and James, daughter and sil from Knoxville, also Rachel and her husband, Martin, grandson David, and also little Elsie.  It is like Grand Central Staation here.  Martha is making sandwiches for everyone.

An interesting note about hospital costs.  We got a bill for $125,161.45!  Of course our insurance takes care of it.  My total out of pocket expense is $2,000.00 which is the maximum co-pay for the year we have to pay for hospital charges.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I had such a busy day yesterday that I didn't even get to CP to read messages or to post.  Today is a much calmer day.  Yesterday was our SeniorNet Computer Center volunteers meeting and then after a business lunch we had following the meeting it was our monthly PC User Group.  We had a guest speaker from Aiken, S.C. who was a very fine speaker and certainly knew his material in the area of computer security.

When I got home I rested for an hour and then tackled my family reunion home page and finished it up and then e-mailed the link and password to each of my cousins.  So that major project is finished.

Today I have been helping Pat get a quilt laid out so she can tie it.  We put empty coffee cans under the table legs to raise it up to a nice height for working and I found some furniture clamps that dad had that help hold the quilt tight.  We just now took everything lose as she discovered some problem that she needed to fix.  So we get to do it all over again in a little while.

Janet, I think what has been written regarding guilty feelings is very good and you are not alone in struggling with them at times such as you are experiencing.  With a little time you will be able to see that you have done all you could reasonable do and therefore there is not reason to berate yourself or be consumed with guilt.  I know it is much easier to see the truth of this from a distance or when someone else is involved.  No one certainly faults you for experiencing these normal human reactions.  Sorry to read you probably lost your photos from last night but good that you found out about the problem before you went on a trip and took photos that couldn't be replaced.  That sounds like a very fine camera and I hope it serves you well.

Etta Sue, I guess if these new things were too simple they would not represent learning experiences.  Just remember it is the challenges that keep us learning and challenged.  I know you are going to really enjoy your DSL.

Liz, so sorry to hear of Wendy's new health problems.

Pat, thanks for the fine devotional today.

Ed, it sounds like you and your wife are about the same age we are.  My wife reaches that hallmark you mentioned in July.

JudyB, hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your lawn mower.

Well, think it is time for a break and a little nap.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Pat

So sorry, Janet about your photos.  I've never reformated a memory card for my Nikon.  I've always just put it in the camera straight from the store.

Then when I want to delete the images after I've put them on the computer, well, then I click of format.

Saturday:  We went to the gym to exercise - I especially need the upper body weight lifting to get some strength.  The back exercise thing is really helping both of us.  Don made breakfast and I am downstairs setting up my sewing machine after spending all day yesterday in Loveland piecing a table runner with my quilt group.  We have a marvelous time.  Usually, I talk so much with everyone that little gets accomplished.   ::)

today, the post office is picking up canned & dry food for the food bank.  I was able to get a bag out there.  We see most of the children this Tuesday so nothing is planned for tomorrow and that is one of the things I have to deal with living a good three hour round trip from their homes.  Some special days are just not to be.  We did have Easter.  Remind me to be grateful for what I receive......

Larry:  Wish I could be there to tie the quilt with your Pat.

Pat:  Thank you for the nice song in devotions.  Brings back memories.

Judy B:  A two-hour sermon?  Service?  We can go over the hour at times but I don't think anything has ever gone that long?  There might be mutiny.   ;D  There are special occasions with other things that certainly last more than an hour.  Usually food and a lot of coffee is involved.

Carol

Janet

Pat, this was not a new from the store card, but one I had been using in my HP camera when it quit.  The instructions said to delete all images from the card to format it, but I didn't want to lose all of them......plus, I hadn't read all the instructions ... :-[.  Sigh....these things do not come easily to me.  Do I dare console myself by thinking my mind works creatively better than it does alalytically?  ???  I just hope the card isn't ruined.  Not a really big one, but it is a 128 mb, so is very handy.

Thanks for the understanding words, Larry.  Having friends who understand is such a comfort.

Liz, I'm so sorry Wendy's problems are increasing.  I do understand.  (((hugs)))

Papa John, what a special day for you and Cornelia.  Enjoy!  And, I praise God with you for the insurance coverage.  What on earth would we do without it?

Carol, I think I will have an alone kind of Mothers Day, too.  Diane came last night and brought me a card and a little gift, so I don't think they will be here tomorrow.  Beth is here, though.  And I haven't heard from the other three at all.  And like you, I am thankful for what I do get.

I'm going to a "crop" this evening.  For those who don't know, that's a scrapbooking term.  We all get together and work on our albums.  It's fun, mayble almost as much fun as quilting is for quilters! ;)

I have missed an entire week of exercising, so when we get home from Amarillo, I will get with the program again.

Praise the Lord for answered prayers. Thank you Jesus
The grandkids are going to church with me tomorrow. It didn't even take any persuasion, all I did was ask and wait; when we went to pick up the sleeping bags and clothes that is when I found out the answer was YES!!

Hi, friends,

It's been like Mothers Day all day today - a beautiful flower arrangement from my son in England, cards from Atlanta, and an invitation to dinner tonight from my daughter and son who live here in Nashville.

Yes, I am also sorry for the emotional and physical problems we endure along with our children. Having a sick child hurts me terribly, so I can empathize with y'all.

Happy Mothers Day to all.

Ruth Ann

I am sorry I typed the wrong time span.  The Church service is from 11:00 to 12:15 or 12:30.  It is from about 10:15 to 11:00 that we have coffee hour.  It is a wonderful time of fellowship, complete with Tim Hortons Coffee and Cookies!

I had a nice afternoon with Mother.  She is getting the carpet taken out of her apartment and the owners are putting in Vinyl.  This is safer for the elderly, and Mom has tripped on the carpet a lot lately.  Nothing broken, but it has become a concern.  She will stay with us at the farm from Monday morning till the Job is done.

It is windy here in the north, and this evening overcast.  Looks like rain, we need it the ground is so dry already.  There will be a burning ban early this year we love a fire with hot dogs and marshmallows.

Well I am off for this weekend, Be back Monday.  We are going to Toronto to Peoples Church and then to visit an elderly Aunt and our cousin.  See you there Ruthie!

God bless and have a God day tomorrow
