JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Morning Devotional...

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:4

Why does Scripture not record the Lord Jesus laughing?

Briefly reviewing the Lord's humanity we see that, He hungered, thirsted, was weary, laboured, wept, and endured indignities. He was rejected, buffeted, scourged, and nailed to a tree.

Normally, there is time in life to be merry.

But the Lord did not come to earth for frivolity. He came to live and breathe the Father's will unto death (Jn. 6:39). Yet, He was not without internal joy and peace; for these He gave to His disciples to enjoy until His kingdom comes.

So for now, let us work with joy--there will be plenty of time to be merry later!
--Warren Henderson

Filled with this sweet peace forever,
on we go, through strife and care,
Till we find that peace around us,
in the Lamb's high glory there.

Hope that everyone is doing well ... I have been very busy and so I hope once school is out this FRIDAY that I can have sometime to come by and share ... so in the meantime enjoy this special treat that I have enclosed !!

01. Don't imagine you can change a man - unless he's in diapers.

02. What do you do if your boyfriend walks out? You shut the door.

03. If they put a man on the moon - they should be able to put them all up there.

04. Never let your man's mind wander - it's too little to be out alone.

05. Go for the younger man. You might as well, they never mature anyway.

06. Men are all the same - they just have different faces, so that you can tell them apart.

07. Definition of a bachelor: a man who has missed the opportunity to make some woman miserable.

08. Women don't make fools of men - most of them are the do-it-yourself types.

09. Best way to get a man to do something is to suggest he is too old for it.

10. Love is blind, but marriage is a real eye-opener.

11. If you want a committed man, look in a mental hospital.

12. The children of Israel wandered around the desert for 40 years. Even in Biblical times, men wouldn't ask for directions.

13. If he asks what sort of books you're interested in, tell him checkbooks.

14. Remember a sense of humor does not mean that you tell him jokes, it means that you laugh at his.

15. Sadly, all men are created equal.

Ahh good Morning. Well yesterday I changed my health insurance to one that will cost me half as much per month starting July 1st. Since I have been preapproved for Medical (medicaid) they will pay all my copays so I can go with a less expensive  health plan that charges more copays.

Pat sorry to hear that you are not feeling well again. You seem to be having quite a time with your health issues. You are in my prayers.

Etta Sue in PSP I am animation challenged but I can make great stationeries and other graphics. I really do love doing  PSP and make something every day sometime I spends hours making things.

Nita Hang in there, are you doing any exercising? I have a set of 3 lb. weights that I use almost every day to do arm  exercises and walk with the dogs as much as  can, about 3-5 days per week. I have a mini trampoline that I use whenever I remember to use it, ( not often). I am still doing Tai Chi 2 days per week at the Senior Center.

Well I better get off of here and get dresses and make my bed, my insurance man is going to call me around 7 to get the info for the new policy.

Good morning, all :)

Wow, TBear, we men have a lot of work to do to improve our image!

Marilyn, definitely glad to hear you're able to improve the insurance situation.

Pat, I think Jesus probably laughed more than we might believe.  That's just a personal thing, but I find that the more I try to be like Him, the happier I am.  That doesn't prove that Jesus laughed, but I believe He was happy, and being happy generally leads to laughter on occasion.  I don't think He was a comedian by any means, but I believe He was happy, even though He knew what He knew.  After all, He knew that for all of eternity!

I hope all of you have a great day.

Wow I am a real ditz today.  I have dial up and when the phone rings the internet kicks out.  This can be a nuisence but it is better than missing important calls.  Bonnie called to give me an update on Drake.  He was running a fever of over 104*F during the night.  While I was talking to her I couldn't understand why I kept getting "Page ot Available" when I tried to get back to CP while I was talking!  Boy Waiting up at night for phone calls isn't a good idea!

We have a warm day today  All of +10*C  (18*F) New high after the weekend!. now that is a bit better.

Melaura had an awesome time at camp.  No sleep, but isn't that a normal state of affairs for teens?  God is good, He is leading her even though the 'human' eye doesn't see it.  I am enjoying watching His progress, so gentle.

T Bear too funny.  Have a good week.

Marilyn good to get less expensive insurance.

Nards, Children by nature laugh a lot. As a child he was a happy normal child therefore haughing was probably part of his makeup.   Problem is when He began His ministry He knew what the future held, and he had a lot to teach in a very short time.  My personal belief is that He became increasingly sober as the days and years went by knowing the kind of death He would die.  Oh but look at the Joy and Peace he taught and gave.  That outweighs any soberness and holds us when we are in difficult situations.

Pat good devotional,  you are causing each of us to streatch and dig deeper.

John will be home tonight.  Don't know the time.  Our friend from Guelph will pick him up and take him out for supper.  That will be good for them to have time together.

Well a lot too do today. bye for now.

I posted on yesterdays post for today.  I must have been in a hurry to get the car maintenanced.  It is done for another 3,000 miles.

Karen ~ Not all men are like that all the time.  Some are some of the time!  I guess you have to be a woman to appreciate your list.   ^-^

We are all children of God so if children laugh naturally, then we should all laugh naturally!  Teehee....hahaha...LOL
   ;D   :D

Jesus had to have a sense of humor to hang out with the likes of Peter  !  Did Jesus laugh 'til He had tears in His eyes?  I bet He did!  But did he spend hours goofing off, and just wasting time?  Not likely.  There is a big, healthy difference.

Karen, I can say, if it weren't for the grace of God, I could turn your list of 15 into quite a longer one!  Thank God for JESUS! (Did my wife just say "Amen!"?  ;D )

I couldn't agree more with Paul regarding me!

What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God — through Jesus Christ our Lord!

I think laughter is an outpouring of real peace and joy.  It's hard to laugh if you don't really have internal peace.  Laughter is also good medicine.

I'm off to the Comedy Channel.  Just kidding, because most of that stuff is WAY out of line, but good clean comedy really is healthy.

Well it is actually up to 17*C!!!!  That would be about 62*F  Much better than the weekend.

Found out that Melaura had her sleepingbag, makeup amd cd's stolen on the weekend.  Too bad there are so many dishonest people at a Christian event.

I am off talk later
Love Judy

Carol

Judy B;  Sorry to hear about Melaura's theft but I hope that she remembers more of the good things she learned at camp.  There is one thief and we do detest this action.  I try to think that this thierf need stuff more that I do and they will have to answer to it at a later date.

Pat:  It sounds like you are better?  At least I didn't read that you were feeling fluish today.  Want a laugh?  I thought you meant foolish when I first read your note.   ;D

Janet:  Super news about the wonderful room for Beth and that she will be close to the nursing station.  You have to feel a sense of relief and it will come to her as well.

Aunt Pat thank you for the mroning devotional...it actualy makes sence. i do think that Jesus did laugh but near the end of his days he realized that his end dayz were coming up/.

this has been an amazing weekend in Paris ON. None of us had very much sleep but that is normal for teenagers that are having a good time!  i had lots of theese moments laughing so hard that i thought i was actualy going to die of laughter. i met loads of new peopl and just had a lot of fun. God has shown me a lot of things that i can do to show Him to my friends, and i know that its not going to be easy. a lot of my friends are not Christians but one more has been born into the family of God.

:coffee: i had no problem with my coffee's while i was down there...actualy there was Tim Hortans coffee down there for free...it was really good!

:clobber: there were a lot of sports and my youth group got 2nd in Ultimate frisby if im right.

:idiot: we had the "Country Idiot" down there and he was funny funny funny...

whille im was down there someone needed my things more than i did apprentaly... my sleeping bags and my favorite blanket went missing and my new cd's a new shirt some makeup, a lot of cool THINGS...it can all be replaced and i know that. i just pray the person that took it has fun with it because they do need it more than me. i have everything i need and more. thanks to God

I sincerely believe that not only did Jesus laugh (and I love that picture), but I truly believe that God has a sense of humo(u)r.  All you have to do is talk to a little kid.  I think they make God laugh.  :)

I love to laugh and have a very strange sense of humor.  It helps me be  a teacher some days. :/

gotta runfor now.  love the pet pictures!!!

Marilyn

Hi Melaura good to see yo had such a good time.

Well I have got my new Kitchen curtains up finally. Still have the bedroom and living/office/computer room to do. Those will be easy as i am just putting up rods in the Living/computer/office room and draping the very large and long panels over them The drapes go in the bedroom.

Fay is getting to be very cranky and super bossy lately, Now she has taken out the hem in her dress/robe at the front and back seams  :uglystupid:  and wants me to redo something or other AGAIN. I  am never going to sew for anyone else again.  GRRRRRRRRRR :clobber:

Yesterday Jan bought a new toaster oven so she gave me  her old one. I have my supper in there. I  took a piece of foil and laid it on the little tray and laid a piece of chicken breast  on it, then I surrounded it with a cut up potato and carrot and laid some frozen string beans and diced onions on top of that. I added a little salt, garlic salt, garlic pepper  and some rosemary and wrapped it all up and stuck it in the toaster oven. I hope it tastes good.  ;D

Raining here most of today, so the dogs didn't get their walk.  Poor babies.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  This has been another frustrating day with my Internet connection.  I have the cable technician due here between 11-2 tomorrow and I sure hope he can fix my problem.  My computer connection speed goes from 6200 kbps down to 500 kbps or where it loses the signal all together.  I took the spliter off the cable as my friend thought it might be causing a problem with the signal.  It didn't make any difference.  My voip phone system is basically unusable with the signal I have.  Needless to say I am very frustrated with the whole thing and they either get it fixed or I will be looking for something else.

Janet, so glad to see you are getting some peace of mind and Beth is beginning to see something positive from going into a care home.  I have felt for sometime that it was the place she needed to be where there are always people available to help and they have the skill and knowledge, much less the equipment, needed to provide proper care.  She also won't have to worry about fixing meals.  I ate many times with my dad in the nursing home and found the food very acceptable.  Sure it would get tiresome but that is where a little food brought in really helps occasionally.  I know we will all be waiting to see how Beth adjusts to her new room.  It sounds like they are going to take very good care of her.  Glad to hear she is going to have a private room with some space as that can be a problem with some places that seem to be about the size of a closet.

Pat, thanks for the devotional.  I just can't image that our saviour didn't laugh and experience life in all of its manifestations.  Laughter is a part of the human experience and certainly a gift from God.  Hope you are feeling better by now.

Melura, sorry about the thief of your things.  I guess nothing can be taken for granted in the age in which we live.  Glad you didn't let it ruin your weekend.

Marilyn, glad you found less expensive health insurance.

Tbear, I don't think I liked your little funny!! :) but sure glad to see you posting.

Etta Sue, we have to be very vigilant with all of our billings.  Glad you got a good deal on your newspaper.  Sure they didn't want to lose a paying customer.  Newspaper circulation is way down because of the Internet.  The newspaper here in Atlanta has a special rate for seniors, if you ask for it and it is about half the regular price.  I haven't taken the paper for a couple of years as just read the news on the web.  I do still like to look at the newspapers and when our new library opens at the end of the years probably will stop in often to read over the newspapers they have in circulation.

Nita, it does seem that each year makes a difference.  I am noticing that when I get down on my knees that I am having more difficulty in getting back up.  Glad you put that shovel down.  :)

Kevin, good to see you and Liz and everyone posting.

Janet

Do you remember the old saying "I spoke too soon?"  Well, I did.  I was feeling so much more optimistic last night, then today everything went sour.  They took literally hours to accept Beth into the care home; then put her in a tiny little cramped room, she can hardly turn her power chair around; and they will NOT let her have her dog, in spite of Dr. Plumlee's best efforts.  :'( :'( :'( It has been a stressful, aggravating  :ticked: and heartrending day.  She cries every time I have to leave and begs me not to leave her; she wants to come home; why can't she just come home? :(  I KNOW she wants to come home, but we both know she can't manage any longer and that I can't continue to care for her.  Tonight, I just wish for the rapture.............

I have a splitting headache and have cried so much today.  My sweet Abby left me a phone message saying "Grandma?  This is your granddaughter Abby.  Are you still crying?  I hope not.  I love you."  Isn't that precious?

Melaura, good to see you posting, glad you had an edifying time, but sorry someone decided to take your things.  You have the right attitude, though, and if you just give them as unto God, He will repay you.  God bless.

Judy, glad your honey is coming home.  Thanks for your prayers.  Pat called me a bit ago.  I so appreciate my Christian friends.

Larry, hope your frustrations with the net are sorted out soon.  You don't need the aggravation!  Bless you, my brother.

I need to go to bed.  And my apologies for not posting the NEM for today, just now is the first I have thought about it.  Must be other stuff going on in my life, ya think?
