Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Morning Devotional

Worship:
God's Inward Necessity

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
--Genesis 1:27

I believe that He created man out of no external necessity. I believe it was an internal necessity. God, being the God He was and is, and being infinitely perfect and infinitely beautiful and infinitely glorious and infinitely admirable and infinitely loving, out of His own inward necessity had to have some creature that was capable of admiring Him and loving Him and knowing Him. So God made man in His own image; in the image and likeness of God made He him; and He made him as near to being like Himself as it was possible for the creature to be like the Creator. The most godlike thing in the universe is the soul of man.

The reason God made man in His image was that he might appreciate God and admire and adore and worship; so that God might not be a picture, so to speak, hanging in a gallery with nobody looking at Him. He might not be a flower that no one could smell; He might not be a star that no one could see. God made somebody to smell that flower, the lily of the valley. He wanted someone to see that glorious image. He wanted someone to see the star, so He made us and in making us He made us to worship Him
Dr. Tozer in Worship: The Missing Jewel, 3.

"What an incredible thought, Almighty God, that You desire and even in some sense need my worship! Be pleased this morning, Lord, as I do indeed smell the flower and see the star, as I 'admire and adore and worship.' Amen."

Nita

I'm just peeking in before I head to bed.

I've peeked and read all the posts, so now I'm dun. :)

Seems I've been busy all day.  Going in circles most likely, but still busy.   Nita

Anthony

Good morning everyone.  I enjoyed the devotional this morning which seems to put a whole new meaning and depth to our worship - thank you Pat.

It's good to see you Nita. Well done for being the first in.

Janet, it's good to hear that you are in touch with Sonja.  Please send her our Christian love.

Ed, it's great to hear that you are taking care of one another in the city where you live.  It sounds like a very valuable work that you do.

Carol, I'm sorry that you were messed about at the foot clinic.  Ihope that you get seen to properly soon.

Jane, it's good to see you though I am sorry you have had trouible with your computer.

Hi Marilyn.

Hi JudyB, I'm glad the award ceremony went well.

Well I'm busy today with doctors appointments etc.  I'll see y'all later.

Larry Hanna

Good Morning everyone.  After a day of almost total frustration yesterday with my laptop but thinking I finally had it working OK at the time I turned it off last night, when I turned it on this morning all I get is a boot from CD message so pretty sure the hard disk has crashed and that may well have been the problem yesterday and I didn't recognize it.  Fortunately I still have my laptop.

A few weeks ago I put in another hard drive and took my old hard drive and asked my friend Rod to store it for me.  I am hoping that when I put it back in the computer will boot OK.  I have asked him to bring it to coffee this morning, if he is there.

It was nice and cool here yesterday only getting up to about 72 degrees.  Unfortunately we didn't get any rain and no rain is forecast for the rest of the week.

Not much else to say today other than I will try to keep my cool about this computer situation.  I have some web work that I need to get done and will have lost a few files in the process but nothing too serious as had backed up my working files about 10 days ago.

Good to see everyone posting.

Etta Sue

Yesterday was a so so day.  Last evening my brother, his wife, my sister and I went to another couple's house to play 'Hand and Foot'.  My team was behind 2,000 points and the last hand we pulled ahead and won by 30 points.

Today is Red Hat day.  I got my red plastic bags and I made two red plastic purses for Ivalou and I.  I trimmed them in purple fun fur!  Now to get pictures of them to email to the company that I got the bags from.  Then when I get back home, it is laundry time and packing time.  After posting the devotion for tomorrow, I am hoping for a great nights rest so I can be bright eyed and bushy tailed for a return trip to Grand Rapids.  I hope I can buy a new Amish book when I get into Amish country!

Pat:  Your morning devotional is right on spot.  Thank you for an interesting message.

Ed:  It takes a lot to round up 50 or 60 workers & have them trained as well.

Anthony:  Everyone tells me that it takes six weeks or more for this kind of foot fracture to heal so I have a feeling everything is going alright.  I have been so careful too.  How is your mom?

Larry:  Great that you back everything up
; one of our greatest gifts on this earth is friends & it sounds like you have a group of really good friends.

Don tells me that yesterday would have been his father's 100th. birthday.  I never met his parents as his dad was onlly 53 and his mother 49 - they died when he was 19 and in college - on the same day.  His mother from cancer & his father had a fatal heart attack going to the hospital when she had slipped into a coma.  He remembered the sadness yesterday.

It is going to be nearly 100 degrees today - I am going to quilt at the church this afternoon but not much else is planned.

Carol

Hi Etta Sue!  Enjoy your trip to Amish country.  Of course, I love their quilts.

Marilyn

Good Morning The Pres. is speaking on TV right now.

Pat great devotional this morning Mr. Tozer is always so "right on".

Yes Janet I did meant that I am NOT going to Fay's today. I am still having keyboard problems, sometimes when I hit the keys they don't do anything and I have to  hit them more than one time. I have had to go back and add 7 letters just to this paragraph.  :ticked:

Etta Sue you may have a new job, crocheting those purses for the rest of your life.  <3 for that company.

Carol I had to wear the soft cast on my foot and ankle for 6 full weeks. I had hairline fractures  in 3 places two on top of my foot and one in my ankle. plus a broken toe.

Ed that is a wonderful ministry you have going for the elders. God Bless you brother.

Larry sorry to hear you computer has crashed.

Pat so there you are, I wondered where you were yesterday.

Nita Howdy is is overcast there today like it is here. We are supposed to get a little more rain, I wish it would soak my yard real good so I wouldn't have to water  for a day or two so my new grass will get started.

Must go now and get dressed and make my bed.

Good Morning Christina!  It's so nice to see your cheery face!

It's Jeanne's birthday today!

So, here's a wish from all of us, Jeanne...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEANNE!

I'm leaving in about 15 minutes for lunch with a friend and then we'll be touring various Neighbourhood Groups in the city of Guelph to view their meeting rooms.  We're getting a school portable for our neighbourhood group on July 1 weekend and we want to see how other groups have fixed up their premises and what they do in their rooms.

So, I'll be away till tonight.

It's so good to have a toilet now that's new and working well...thanks to my fantastic brother-in-law!  What a long journey to come down here for me!

Thanks Judy and John!

Well, I'm off for awhile.

I'm looking for a photo I know I have of Ducks in a Line, Christina.  I'll look for it later this evening as well.  What a great topic!

Good morning everyone!!  It is overcast here today, Marilyn, and I suppose a few lingering showers are in the forecast.  I'm so happy that my Father encouraged me to do all that yard work on Saturday because it was just before the rain came back.

Janet and Larry, since you asked, it takes me a couple days to "get over" such a workout.  I think I'm okay today.   :-\  Perhaps, in the next few days, I will get back out there and split some more wood.  I'm not using the stove at this time but it will be nice to have wood ready when I do need it again.  Usually, during the cold weather, I manage to go out and split just enough for that day's fire.  I have to watch for the breaks in the rain to do that, though.  I am so grateful that I have the wood to split.

Gotta go now, but first I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jeanne  :hbirthday:   and hello to Nita, Anthony, Larry, Etta Sue, Carol, Christine, Pat and each one who comes in here today.  May God richly bless you as you celebrate life in Him!
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Jeanne Lee

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  If I hadn't heard something on the radio this morning about Flag Day I might not have even though of it.   By the time you have 74 of them it somehow doesn't seem like a big deal any more!   :D

Hey Jeanne 74 ain't bad.  I've had 71 of 'em (I think) and don't even feel 'em.  Makes it nice when getting that special treatment and discounts, though!   ;)  Enjoy your day --- to the FULLEST!

JudyB

You are welcome Pat. It was our pleasure to help you with that.  It was sure nice to sit at your deck table and have our lunch.  Have a good day.  Say Hi to Judy for me will you!

I am off for the rest of the day today.  I am taking mother grocery shopping, and then to Wal-Mart for a bit.  She wll likely want to have dinner out, so we won't be back till after dinner.

I am taking our lawn tractor over to Jim's, and I hope he shows me what to do to put this valve thinngy back.  athen John will be able to do it the next time it happens.  We have beautiful weather.  the grass is very deep, almost up to the top of our calves.  so I have my work cut out for me with the mowing.

Happy Birthday Jeanne

Hi Jane, good to "see" you!

Hi there Marilyn.  Please remember our friends in prayer!  It is a desperate situation.

Hello Carol.  Can you teach me to quilt?  I know I am told it is easy but never tried it.

Etta Sue you are one bus youg lady... what with all the travelling, it must be keeping you younge!  Would love to see those purses.  I have heard of doing that, but never saw the finished product.  Any Pictures?

Larry you have a greaat understanding about computers, I am totally illiterate when it comes to hard drives and all that.  Hope the new "old" hard drive works.

Hi Anthony.  Have a good day, and thank you for the congrats on melaura's awards.  They have encouraged her to try even harder.  That is a good thing.

Hi Christina, good to see you posting!  Have a good day.

Well I am off and running, Will be back tonight.

My other client cancelled out because she has a house full of company. So I went on to Leroy's for the very last time. Thank you Jesus that I got another job so quickly. So I could give proper notice to him.

So I came home and went out front to dig in the dirt. I dug up some Calla's and  planted  about 10 sunflowers  under my bedroom window. They are the ones that have several smaller flowers on each one. Then  took my Rhodie out of the pot and planted it  between the front flower bed and the driveway. I am running the sprinkler to soak the new grass seed.  I also took  some sweet Williams out of the pot and put them  next to the sunflowers.

JudyB Etta Sue's purses are HERE and HERE  you commented in both places a long time ago. Senior Moments eh Judy

Mimi  (my neighbor)gave me the sunflowers to plant as she had too many. Se also gave me an assortment of greens to eat Her garden is really going god and everything is so big.

Here is the purse I made for me....

I am home from the Red Hat Luncheon.  I had French Fried Shrimp, baked potato, salad and Texas toast.  Then we went to a shop to look around and then to Alexander's...an old-fashioned ice cream shop.  I had a two-dip Cinnamon Ice Cream Cone.

Now I am doing laundry and need to pack.

Happy Birthday Jeanne!!!!

Etta, that purse is cool.  :)

Marilyn, I understand your computer/keyboard ills.  I'm at work right now and the shift key doesn't want to work correctly.  Usually, I just type in all lowercase when I'm here.

To the others -- I had stuff to say, but forgot it. sorry.

oh yea, hi christinaa.  we'll definitely try to get together sometime.  going from statesville to morganton is easy.  just get on 40 and stay there.

abotu time for me to go home. YEA.  laters

Yes Marilyn a senior moment.  I have had a lot of them lately.

Had a good time with Mom.  We went out for lunch and then to shopping.  We didn't make Wal Mart, that is for another day.

I have to go and take our tractor to the engine doctor.  Be back later.

Judy
