Each year near the end of October we meet my parents in the mountains of North Carolina for a little relaxation and fellowship.
These are a few of my favorites from some of those great times.
Thanks for looking,

Hey Pixel these are great photos. I have enjoyed viewing them. Thanks for sharing
What beautiful work. I love that top one. Almost looks like any river in England. But what gorgeous shots of your area.
I'm so looking forward to seeing more from you.
(May I call you Matthew?)

Thank you Pat for your kind words. That first shot is the entrance to Chetola resort in Blowing Rock NC.
Yes mam, you may call me Matthew :)

That shot was taken right on the Parkway, you know you are only about 115 miles or so from where that image was taken.
So, are all the photos SOUTH of Mabry Mill?

Yes Mam,
All the photos above are South of Mabry Mill. They are all near or around the Boone, Blowing Rock area.
I went to college at Appalachian for 3 years. I know the area well. :)
I live just west of Asheville, now.

Go App State! I transplanted from Ohio to the Charlotte NC area but remain a big buckeye fan. So when App State went to Michigan last year and beat them, I could not wipe the smile off my face for days.
Such a beautiful part of the country you live in. Last years visit with my parents took us to a little place south of you, Cashiers NC. While looking at some of your photos, I thought we had taken the same picture, with further investigation we did not. Looks very similar though don't you think.

I'm now fairly certain we're going to have to get our families together for a camping trip one of these days :)
That sounds great Gator
Here (http://boonecabins.com) is where I like to camp, I done the virtual tours last year for the cabins.
Of course we can rough it too ;)
Let me know when would be good for you. I'm on call this weekend but open after that. The mad rush will be starting up very soon and gets pretty tough to find a place to stay once the color arrives.
