I found this fall scene last evening when my hubby took me to shoot some fall foliage. 

I didn't know trees went rusty, you do love autumn colours don't you? this is nice, and you know what I like? Those deep dark reflections in the water and that pebbly bank, you know I think there's a picture there in just those two elements alone. Request, Please send some of those fall colours over here, thanks.

Mmm beautiful

I like the cool colors of the rounded stones with the golden tones of the foliage.    I wonder if a slightly longer lens might compress the distance a bit and heighten the contrast.

Thanks everyone for all of your comments.  I, too, loved the stones and the deep dark tones on the water. 

Because of the slope of the bank, I couldn't have used a longer lens and still included all that I wanted to in that particular shot.  I wish I'd had the light longer, I would have explored more compositional options and switched to my longer lens.  I will have to go back and explore the options at this spot again.     In the meantime, I can practice by cropping the shots I did get to know how I want to shoot the scene in the future.  I do know I'd like to shoot it again in the winter/spring/summer to see the difference the seasons make.  We'll see.
