Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I like the way you shot this with the shadows on the fallen leaves.

this is an interesting picture.

First what is crepe myrtle?  Is it indiginous to where you live?  How tall does it grow?  I have never heard of this plant.  It looks like trees that are quite tall.

I agee with Marilyn the shadowing is great.  I like the contrasts.

Barbarian

Crepe myrtles are small trees/large bushes that are covered with many small flowers in the spring.   I focused on the shape and texture of the trunks, rather than on the foliage.

Well I have learned something again.  I have a theory, If I don't learn something everyday, it is a wasted day.

I like this picture.

Barbarian

A great philosophy, that.   A few years ago, some doctors did research on an abbey of nuns, whose order required intellectual activity.   They were always learning something new.

The remarkable thing was that they generally lived to be very old, and very few of them exhibited any signs of dementia normally associated with extreme age.  It seems that "use it or lose it" applies to minds, too.

Keep learning.

Yes I can buy that.  Our dad was always reading and studying, both the Bibly as well as other books primarily history.  When he died he was alert to the end and always had something of value to say.  Many other old people I know spend their days talking about what happened 50 years ago.  So I guess I said all that to simply say I agree with  "use it or loose it"  when it comes to the mind as well.

Al Moak

Considering that you focussed particularly on the shape/texture, I think you did a most remarkable job!  It's really quite striking.

Barbarian

Thank you, Al.   Everyone focuses on the lovely blossoms they produce, but I think there is great beauty in the trunk and limbs of these trees.
