This picture is from November of 1971. I took it one day when I was working for the U.S. Forest Service on the Kingston Ranger District of the Coeur d' Alene National Forest in northern Idaho.
I will never forget the beauty and the serenity of the early snow in the Coeur d' Alene Mountains. I felt almost as if I were in the very presence of God.
We had trees on our ranger district that were over 200 feet tall, and some in this picture may have been that tall. With the snow on their branches, their beauty was overhwhelming.

Oh very beautiful scene Tom. Great shot
Thanks, Marilyn.
I took that as a color slide with my Minolta SRT101 35 mm SLR camera that I had bought earlier that year. When I got out to "God's Country," I knew I had to start taking pictures, and a coworker at the Kingston Ranger Station who was a great photographer helped me pick out a good camera. I had not a clue as to which one to buy.

wow a great picture . God's creation is awesome :coffee:
Beautiful picture. How tall are those trees anyway? They are huge!

Judy:
It's possible that some of the trees in that picture are over 200' tall. We had some trees on our ranger district that would go over 200'.
Tom
That is amazing. We have a spruce in fromt of our home that is about 80 feet and it seemed dwarfed by your trees. That is a beautiful picture.

Yes it is, Melody.
I thank God almost every single day for the beauty of His Creation and for giving me eyes to see it and a heart to appreciate it. I don't understand how ANYONE can look at the beauty, the wonder, and the mystery of Nature and not believe in God.
Thanks for your reply.

Great shot, Tom. Even though I don't like snow! ;)
I'm with you there Gary!
I like that you added the truck in the picture. It give you a sense of size. Like Judy said, those trees are very large (that is not a quote).
