Just thought I'd share with you all some photos of the Big Ice Storm here in Virginia when we first came down from Canada this month.
Great Virginia Ice Storm of Jan. 2009
That's the little "mountain" or hill that our home is located on in the background, near Winchester, VA.
Everything is coated with about 1/2 inch or more of ice! What a scene it was!

Wow Par rhar is rough weather. We get that up here a lot here too. YOur pictures are great though.
That must have been the same storm that covered my daffodils with snow, no ice here. Makes beautiful scenes but that stuff is treacherous in a lot of ways. I'm sure you already know that but you be careful anyway.
Good job with the camera, nice photos.
Don
We had freezing rain here this past week. There was a truck that passed me, a semi, and his antenna were whipping back and forth. HE had built up ice. Rough driving in weather like that.
Pat, nice images, cold looking for sure.
Becky
Thanks Becky! It sure was beautiful to see and I'm glad I went out early in the morning since the sun came out brightly about noon and all was melted away.
That's really cool. I've never seen that much ice. :yikes:
Now you be careful, Pat. We wouldn't want you to hurt yourself. :dizzy:
Hey, Scottyboy, did you see the Photo of the Day on Photography Cafe today??
;)
No I didn't. I haven't been over there yet. I'll go look.
Hey, great job, Pat!

Wow, those are great pictures! Looks cold! It has been amazingly warm here in Colorado the past few days. I think it got up to 70 today! Makes me worry about March lol. Will probably get our snow next month.
Thanks for sharing those great pics. :)
PAt have the daffodils started to bud yet? What is the weather like now?
