One of the more popular landmarks of Sedona. The Chapel was designed by Marguerite Brunswig Staude, a pupil of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Sam, incredible colours.
What a lovely trip you had! Someday I hope to go there. Maybe only in my dreams. :) Thanks for sharing this with us and I'm off to see your new webpage.
Thanks Pat. I had a great time. Any visit to red rock country is special.
Merry Christmas,
Sam

Hey Bircher, I was in sedona in November, and took a shot of the chapel too. I think yours is better though.

I was there in November too. Maybe we ran into one another and we didn't know it.

Sam, do you shoot on manual all the time?
I've just been sitting here looking at this again and thought I'd ask you.
If you mean I shoot in automatic mode -- no I don't. 80% of the time I shoot in Aperture Priorty mode and the rest in Program Mode.

Hi Sam... Thanks for answering my question. I shoot in Aperature priority most of the time as well. But my daughter shoots in Manual mode setting everything from scratch nearly all the time.
The photo you took of the same view that was on the cover of the Outdoor Photographer magazine was awesome and I won't forget that.
Beautiful shots. I'd be interested in knowing the tiime of day each of you took these shots. That's probably one of the primary differences -- the light.
I shoot 80% of my shots in manual and 20% in Av or Tv depending on what is going on. I've been shooting manual for so long that it's 2nd nature and I can quickly set the settings.
Carl, what's Tv?
Tv is Canon-speak for shutter priority
Av is aperture priority
Thanks!
I took my shot late in the afternoon, about an hour before sunset.
I think part of the difference between our two shots is I didn't use any filters.
I imagine bircher used a polarizing filter to darken the sky.
