I got this awesome chance to take a picture of this beautiful rainbow on Sunday evening.
I don't think that I've seen one quite like this - from beginning to end.

Beautiful photos, Christa. I notice a difference in the sky above and below it.
So lovely to see a rainbow, Christa, but to capture them, that's wonderful!
Christa have you seen a double rainbow? They are rare but beautiful. You have done well capturing this one.
There is just the faintest hint of a supernumary arc above the primary bow, and just below the cloud. If you take the original exposure and increase saturation, you might see it.
Okkkkkkyyy Now that is in a foreign language. What does supernumary mean???
John did see the hint of a second arc in the last picture.
They are beautiful pictures.
From dictionary.com:
being in excess of the usual, proper, or prescribed number; additional; extra.
That's what meteorologists call them; I'm not trying to be obscure. They are wonderful pictures, of course. I'm not sure I've ever seen a complete bow before.
You are a great teacher. I love words, and this is a new one to me. No not obscure!
I have seen two complete arcs here in the north, but the storm behind the bows devastated an entire community. Roads were washed out and homes were damaged.
Still wonderful pictures.

Thanks Barbarian. I had to do some research on exactly what you were talking about. You are a great teacher.
I increased the saturation and check it out - you can see a supernumary arc above the rainbow. How awesome!!!

Well done!!!
It's always a treat when you can capture a rainbow with your camera.
