Some canal boats lined up on the Leeds, Liverpool canal at Skipton, first time I used my bus pass, out as far as that, and it was incessant rain all day, had to shelter under a bridge to get this one, still to me the absense of sun, can create some wonderul atmospheric shots.

When I came over to England the times that I did I don't remember Liverpool looking like this. All I remember is docks and ships and a little girl sitting on a suitcase waiting for her mum. That was many years ago.
In this I can see the rain on the water, and the muted reflection of the canal boat. Well done you are right about the atmosphere,
Knowing absolutely nothing about England except what I see in movies, I love seeing these photos you take at different locations. :)
Especially Summicron when the rain falls on the water and makes those big drop ripples...It's really musical to watch...Nice shot.!!! :)
