This is one of my favorite photos. Although it is only a quick snapshot. Taken with my old Olympus OMPC. I was taking a week holiday with my parents along the N. Cal. coast and the redwoods. How majestic these tall trees are. Very hard to capture effectively with 35mm. I just grabbed a quick shot lookin goff one of the trails with some morning light peeking through. I really want to go back with all my gadgetry and do this right.
My parents have moved out here to Missouri so this will be harder now.
Anyway here it is.
If you have never been there, please try to do so.

Here is another from the same walk. If I remeber correctly I only had the 50mm lens so had to take what I could get.

I always get dizzy looking up  You must live somewhat near to where I am. I'm 30 miles north of the California border
Well my parents used to live in Forbestown CA. Seems my whole family now lives in the Kansas City MO. area. Nothing this nice around here unfortunately.
We used to go up to Cresent City for a few days. love that town.
ha...I didn't read the text...just saw the photos.
What's quite a photo looking straight up! My goodness. Love the light in it.
It is simply amazing how God created these magnificant trees. I really enjoy being with folks who have never seen these trees in person before. The look of awe is not describable. The trees themselves are not describable. My piddly attempt here does not do justice to them at all. I am going back with a 8x10 LF rig next time.
Ohenry, I live in McKinleyville, about 16 miles north of Eureka. Have you been to Patricks Point State park?
I love the Coastal Redwoods, too! I have family that lives in Eureka and some that lived in Cresent City. We've been there several times and just love the beach there and walking in the woods. We even got to camp among those beautiful trees. None of my pictures from there are converted to digital, yet. I was still using film, last time I went. :(
Glad you got to take a couple of quick shots! It's a beautiful place to take pictures and reflect on our awesome Creator!
Kathleen
Ohhh,, I hope that we get more of these wonderful trees.
I've heard about them for so long but never saw one in real life.
