Actually this should go in the architecture section, but it seemed appropriate to include it with my other St Peter shot, this is an etched glass window, in a Methodist church here in Darwen, the late evening sun has been diffused by a plastic panel outside the window, and composing the window against a dark background across the street. If you think about it, photography could be better described as etching with light, as that is what the chemical process actually does, etch the photographed image into the films emulsion.
I like this one. Was the work done by hand? or was it machine etched?
Having scripture at the bottom is wonderful.
This is one you really have to click on!
There are several of these windows in that church, different scenes from the gospels all with scripture verses, I do believe they were hand etched, unique.
Yes Al I agree to get the full benefir you really do have to click on it!
Wow hand etched. that must have taken a long time.
