Margery wanted a new handbag this afternoon, so we went over to Preston on the bus, We've been going there for years and always getting off at the bus station. I've never thought about it till now, its very photogenic, the concrete fluting running the lenght of the building and the multi coloured buses stand out so well against the grey of the building. The reason I photographed it is because it is due for demolition, only to be replaced by another shopping mall, It's a pity really even though it isn't that great inside, very drab, it handles thousands of buses a day, and aparently it has the distinction of being the largest bus station in the world, buses go from the other side of the station too.

Well I took a number of shots of this place and decided upon this one as a closer view, its like kaleidascope of colour as buses arive and depart, there is always a Stagecoach bus for Bolton in as they run every ten minutes. Stagecoach owns bus companies worldwide, and they are a scottish company. These wer about the only pictures I took in Preston this afternoon.

Interesting site and lovely splash of color.
What will be done about such a busy bus center when this building is replaced by a shopping mall?
Something that God is not the Author of.
Lovely photo and yes it seems a shame for the station to come down, what really caught my attention was the buses departing every so often for Bolton in fact I checked your profile as we have a Bolton that is a 10 minute drive away and we frequent it very often.
Oh Those doubledeckers. You have brought up some wonderful memories. I would love to come back over to see you all. It would be a culture shock for John!!!
