Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

What kind of camera/lens was used for this shot?  The keystoning of the trees is a bit obvious (and could be fixed in Photoshop if so desired) and it drives the curiosity in me to know what lens focal length was used.

The sky and snow is in perfect exposure, leaving the color of the trees a bit lost in the shadows.  One of the unfortunate limitations of photography, but to me it sort of makes the beautiful sky the subject with the trees breaking the pattern of the clouds.  In Photoshop, one could pull the shadows out of the trees and return the color to the trees which would return the emphasis to the trees...ahhh...manipulating visual perception by a tweak here and a tweak there.  (Just rambling here...don't mind me -- I wander at times :) )  Amazing how the mind is influenced by color and pattern.  Here, I'm influenced by the strong color of the sky which is defining the picture.  Someone else may look at it and see the trees.  Praise God....He did make each of us unique!  :)

I was amazed by the huge "globs" of snow on some of the branches.  You could get hit on the head.  I really like this shot - looks like it just snowed.

We were tubing at a resort, and I took this with my wife's point-and-shoot.   This was at a high poss in the Cascades, and the snow was very deep everywhere.

Cold, too.  Brrrrr...

Carl, you make it sound so easy to fix photos!  ;)

It is, Pat...but it's much better to get it right in the camera so that it doesn't require much effort.  I didn't mean for it to sound as if this picture "needed" fixing...it is fine as it stands, as are all of Barbarian's photos.

Post editing should be an enhancement tool and not a fix-all for bad photography.  Just as Ansel Adams and the masters of film manipulated the darkroom to obtain the effect they desired, Photoshop brings that ability into the 21st century.
