On our way home from the previously mentioned vacation in South Carolina, my family got stuck in an enormous bank of fog. As we drove up a bridge, I noticed that it seemed the cars ahead of us were simply disappearing as they mounted the bridge because of the fog.

Fog has that effect. I personally don't mind driving in fog, as long as the temperature is not at freezing point That is when you have the problem of ice fog.
