Title: Worsley Basin 3 White Cottage

And who wouldnt desire a residence like this, the houseboat as in my Skipton pictures has curtains to the window, there may not be anybody in residence.

Does the boat belond to the people with the house?  I do love your pictures!

Quite possible, as boats moored across from the towpath are usually adjacent to peoples homes. And boy was it muddy on that towpath yesterday but it was fun, not much place to sit but then there is a common over the bridge at the back of those houses which I haven't explored yet.

Commons were like village greens, they were common ground that village people could graze their livestock on. The gentry had took all the rest of the land for themselves, and left little or nothing for the ordinary folk.
