Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I came across a little write-up that I thought that we could discuss together.  Many folks have pride--pride of so many things.  Is it right or wrong--or even important?

And being found in fashion as a man,
he humbled himself,
and became obedient unto death,
even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:8

1.  Pride of Birth and Rank

"Is not this the carpenter's son?"
Matthew 13:55

I have a few more but maybe you have some thoughts on this.

What about those who claim this?

2.  Pride of Wealth

"The Son of Man hath not where to lay His head"
Matthew 7:20

How often in my life, I've said, "Oh, I really like that house!"  or "I wish I had a car like that!"  But over the years, it has all become so unimportant to me now. . . especially when I think of that verse that the Son of Man had no were to lay His head.

What a blessed Saviour!

3.  Pride of Respectability

"Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?"
John 1:40

"He shall be called a Nazarene".
Matthew 2:23

Oh what a subject, Pat.  This is something that young and old struggle with...tho' pride of ownership seems to lessen with age.  I like what Spurgeon said on the subject:

Humility is to have a just idea of yourself.

To sham humility by a fictitious depreciation of one's self is sickening hyprocrisy.  We are not without ability, nor without some measure of moral virtue;  and we should not profess that we think we are.  It cannot be necessary to modesty that we should deny the truth;  still, if any man's /woman's opinion of himself /herself is very high, he/she may depend upon it that he /she has made a mistake in adding up.

'tis a puzzlement!

God Bless,
Liz

It was good to read your post, Liz.  These verses have really caused me to think deeply over many things that so many feel are important in their lives.
