IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD
A Hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in or the kind of car I drove.
BUT
The world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.
.............
The above are not my words but they hold much meaning for me as a grandmother.
I pray for all children who do not have grandparents or caring adults to love and inspire them.
.............
Sometimes we forget that every small step is "one huge step for mankind"....an American said that!!!
One little word can "spark" so much...in a child's mind. Like Janet said on this site to me...."You may be the only Bible they ever read".
My Welsh Nanna taught me the "Gentle Jesus Prayer" when I was very small. I feel very close to her even now and find I still recite that prayer for comfort at times. I think about how much she must have loved me and it gives me a "warm glow".
Perhaps I haven't put this properly but I did want to share these feelings with you.
Love Jenny.
As a teacher, I have heard this expression much. As a result, I try to remember that only eternal valuables are valuable. Reading, writing, and Math are important, but when it is all said and done, have I done anything to help their soul. That should be my mission.
I have so much to learn about being a parent. Not only is it intimidating, but sometimes I mourn the mistakes I have already made. Travis is nearly two and I have rarely read the Bible to him. That's just one mistake of many...
OH NARDS.....
PLEASE SAY THE GENTLE JESUS PRAYER WITH HIM......AND GIVE HIM A HUG BEFORE HE GOES TO SLEEP......PLEASE BROTHER!!!
"THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER".
IT WAS MY BEGINNING.......MANY TIMES IT HAS BEEN A COMFORT TO RECALL MY GRANDOTHER PRAYING WITH ME ON A VISIT ........ONCE!!! I REALISED THAT SHE LOVED ME VERY MUCH, SHE PASSED THIS FAITH ONTO ME......
BLESSINGS "DADDY NARDS".
JENNY.
Sharing the Lord with my grandchildren has been one of life's greatest joys for me. Really, I think I have done better with them than with my own kids. I regret the many mistakes I made, but grandkids are like having another chance to do it right! I have led three of them to accept Jesus as their Saviour, and pray with them as often as I can. I do hope they remember that about me.
I love being a Grandma! ;D
As long as we have breathe in this world, there is nothing to regret for God is a loving God. The most important thing is when we did something wrong or missed something, we learn to realize this, repent, never do this again and make the necessary step to fix it.
There is no such thing as an over-night Christian. Up to now I am still learning a lot of things from the Lord, my family and friends. I continuously mature as a follower of Christ.
God bless. :)
