Its in one of the Epistles, I wish I had but I didn't make a note of it when I should, its at the beginning of a verse, it has just one word and then a full stop, can anyone find it?
John 11:35 is where the verse is that says "Jesus wept".
There are three contenders here for the shortest sentence in the bible, the first two are in Romans 3:9 & 6:15, which read, " What then?" in actual letters they are one letter shorter than. "Jesus wept." But the winner is, 1 Corinthians 11: 22, "What!" That's the shortest sentence, I believe, as there is an exclamation mark after the. What! Beginning a new sentence with. "Do you not have houses to eat and drink in?" Halelujah, I found it at last. "Seek and ye shall find." What!
Decided to ask a friend who is an English teacher, about the shortest sentence in the Bible, yes it turns out to be Jesus Wept after all. Why? Because to make a sentence you have to have a nown and a verb. What then does not count as there is no noun, ant the word. What! is simply what it is an exclamation, so that is the reason why Jesus wept, is the Bible's shortest sentence. I didn't know that, glad somebody did.
