Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Jethro My Favourite Bible Character

Talk about hospitality, what Jethro did for a complete stranger, is an act of the most heartgiven generosity to be found in the scriptures. What did he do, heard of a good deed, that a young man had done for his daughters, and took into his home, a young man who had become a murderer, a fugitive, and seemingly a no hoper, and in the process, a homeless and destitute stranger. What happened to Moses under Jethro hand? Moses settled down, found a home, he found love a family and acceptance, he was given a wife, brought up a family, and found his ministry in life. Like King David he was a shepherd.

What does the bible say about someone who wishes to become an elder or a bishop of a church? That he should be the husband of one wife, be a humble servant of the flock, and a whole lot of other qualities too, this was Moses, he was grounded, and given stability, shown love, and accepted as a complete stranger in strangers household. Moses like us had a history, and having killed someone, I think Moses would have had a bad concience over his past life, I wonder if it haunted him as he tended Jethro's flocks?

When Moses brought out the Children of Israel from Egypt, who should turn up in his hour of need to help and advise Moses, Jethro of course. Do you see it, see why Jethro is my favourite bible character? Jethro adopted Moses into his family, and became an adoptive father figure to him, and in that household, Moses was given blessings.

Is that not the same as God, we are like strangers to Him, wanderers, fugitives, sinners, homeless, destitute, and not least of all, CONCIENCE RIDDEN. And what does God do. He accepts us unconditionally, feeds us brings us into His household, loves and accepts us, and more importantly, settles us down, and brings our lives and attitudes to maturity, and in doing that, prepares us for the burning bush experience, when God says, "You've come of age when you are ready for the work I've set for you."

Moses left home, family, and all his security, to begin his ministry, to lead a multitude to promised land rich in blessing. Moses did not get it right all the time, but who should be there for him when he most needed it, his adoptive father figure, Jethro.

Listen my friend, if you are reading this tonight, and your life is in turmoil, like every one of us who are Christians, you need to flee to Midian, in all your filth uncleaness, and a searing concience, with seemingly no place to run to, you need to find a place of unconditional love and acceptance. Pour it all out before the Lord Jesus Christ unconditionally, and you too like many of us find salvation forgiveness, and loving acceptance with God. Why the Lord? Well you need to grow and mature, and that doesn't happen overnight.
