Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

My Patriotism

I was born as a citizen of the United States.  It was no accident.  God planned my birth here.  And the other citizens and the government and all - by Divine Providence - became my environment and shaped my views and loyalties.  This nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all, became my fatherland.

At a time chosen by the Sovereign of nations I became aware of His godhood, of my rebellion, and of the Savior Whom He sent to rescue me from that rebellion.  I came to love Him and to bow before Him as Lord.   I also became more and more aware of His sovereignty over the nations and of the divine Providence that placed me here.  I came to thank Him for all that He has done in my life, including His grace to place me in this nation as His servant.

I therefore pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.  I will defend it and pray for it.  I will seek to cleanse it from unrighteousness and to promote holiness before God in it.  I will preach the Word to its citizens and call them to end their rebellion and to return to the rightful Sovereign of this and all nations.

In these ways, God bless America.

Judy McKenna

That was beautiful, Al.... I do admire the way Americans respect their country, and their flag.  We can all take a lesson from that.

Every time I hear the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America I get tears in my eyes. I will continue to say the Pledge of Allegience with the words "under God" until the day Jesus takes me home. This is my country and I am proud to be an American.

When they tell me that I can no longer say "under God", I will know that free speech is dead.  I am so proud to be an American, but when that day comes, I will be ashamed.

Father, I pray that you will remind our country of yourself.  I want to see us turn to you and forsake the new wave of "religion" that has swept us.  Convict us by Your Spirit to fall on our knees and repent of the sin we have committed in forsaking You.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

The only thing that can stop me from saying those words about God in the pledge is a bullet.  Part of defending this nation against her enemies is defending her against those who would delete those words.

I am just now seeing your posting Al and the additional comments and I say "right on".  A few days ago I read the new book called "Persecution" by David Limbaugh.  It deals with the persecurtion of Christians in our American society over the last several years and it literrally turned my stomach to read about what is going on in our country (and I guess in Europe as well) to try to remove any evidence or symbol of Christians from our society.  Our history is being rewritten and our freedoms eroded on a daily basis.  So much of the justification of those involved is that to hear the name of Jesus Christ spoken or to hear the name of God evoked could be offensive to a non-Christian.  What about the offense we as Christian experience but, of course, that doesn't count in our society today.

Heather Brunet

I am afraid I am a little lost.  Have they taken the words "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag?  If they have, I am very saddened by it.  I have been praying for the US government, as well as our own government up here in Canada, daily, and will continue to do so.

God bless
Heather

Heather - they haven't been removed  - yet.  But the matter is up for review at highest court levels.  We need to continue to pray that it will not happen - and even that those attempting it will bow at the feet of our Lord.
Larry - I couldn't agree more.  Personally, I think that at least civil disobedience is definitely in order.

Al.............

I served in WWII and the Korean wars, and my city for another twenty years.  I may be retired Al, but like you, nO ONE can, or will ever silence my lips from saying "Under God".  This pledge may be of, and from man, but it represents allegence to my country.  I'm an old fashioned God and country type of guy, and I'll fight if they touch the right button.  I know that our society is on the down-slide and I cannot believe it will never recover.  I believe this because of Biblical prophecy.  This is another subject.  Anyway Al, it was a mighty fine post and i'm proud to stand beside you on this.

Right on!!  I also am a flag waving, flag saluting "under God" Patriot of the good old USA!!  And proud of it, too!

Larry, I saw that book advertised, and would like to read it.  It sounds good, but a bit discouraging, too.  We can't change things by hiding our heads in the sand, though.

I've just found this posting, and the first thing that comes to mind, is the verses in Revelation 11: 8, "And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, Where also our Lord was Crucified." If Sodom and Egypt are to be recognised in both state, society and church (church being the last bastion) something has to moved out of the way, because one can't exist where the other is, they can't co-exist. So what happens? Where also our Lord was crucified.
