Rerincarnation, the belief system of eastern religion, and creaping into western culture through new age cults, it holds the promise that you will return to this world as another person after you have passed over from this one. Rerincarnation is perhaps the most hopeless doctrine of all, if you were to return to this earth as another person again, you would have no recolection of your former life, and you would be subjected to the same fears, and striving against sin and human failure in your life as you experience now.

   Rerincarnation is a lie, it is the first lie that was ever told, except that it is a lie wearing a different coat, and it goes back to what the serpent said to Eve in the Garden of Eden, Gen 3:4, "And the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die." But in eating the fruit of the forbidden tree, they did both die, and they went back to the dust of the ground.

   That is a lie that Satan can't tell anymore, man knows that in being born he is dying from the very moment he is conceived, but Satan being Satan wants to persist in the lie he told Eve, "You won't surely die," so the only alternative is that man will live on in life after life, being born, dying, being born again in the flesh, ad infinitum. That would have been the state of Adam and Eve, had they eaten of the tree of life in the garden after eating the fruit of the forbidden tree, as it must have given them a lifesource independant of God, one that would have spelt out an eternal life in utter hopelessness.

   We need an end of out human existence, and a new life source from God, and the only offer of hope is in the words of the Saviour, in that He is the way the truth and the life, and no man can come to the father except through Him. And that's a hope worth having.
