Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Leviathan, What God Told Job
History is full of strange stories of fantastic creatures, that from time to time trouble humanity. Fairies, Elves, Troll's, and many headed creatures, the bible also describes beasts with seven heads using the features of a terrible beast to describe a person, this story you can read in Revelation chapter 13. Back in the Old Testament, we read of a man afflicted with many sores, who suffered great affliction at the hands of God to prove to Satan the Job being righteous would not deny His Creator. In the closing chapters of the book of Job, God speaks to Job personally, demonstrating His mightiness in creation. In chapter 40 He describes a beast called behemoth, in chapter 41 He describes a creature called leviathan, to the Bible historian's mind a creature of unknown origin. The descriptions of this seagoing creature are very detailed, and remember this is to the ancient mind these things are being written. Verse 12, I will not conceal his limbs. His mighty power, or graceful proportions. Something very sleek.
V 15, His rows of scales are his pride. Shut up tightly as with a seal; One is so near another. That no air can come between them; They are joined one to another; They stick together and cannot be parted. Something so tightly fitted together would need to be welded.
V 18, His sneezing's flash forth light; And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning; Out of his mouth go burning lights; Sparks of fire shoot out.
V 31-33, This is the most interesting description of all. He makes the deep boil like a pot; He makes the sea boil like a pot of ointment: He leaves a shining wake behind him; One would think the deep had white hair.
V 30, His undersides are like are like sharp potsherds. And finally.
V 20, Smoke goes out of his nostrils, as from a boiling pot and burning rushes. These are only a few verses from chapter 40.
Literally there is no creature past or present that can fit such a description, but what if the writer of Job saw a vision of a ship, the descriptions here fit perfectly, Verse 18, sparks of fire shoot out, the discharge from a ships guns could well describe that.
Verse 31 – 33 makes the deep boil like a pot, and from his nostrils a boiling pot and burning rushes. Ever seen videos of a submarine as it surfaces, or a battle cruiser or destroyer at speed, a boiling pot and burning rushes, smoke and steam out of its nostrils, are not a ships nostrils its funnels?
V 15 his rows of scales are his pride a ships cladding of boiler plates would well look like the scales of a great sea creature, welded and riveted no air can get between.
V 30 perhaps the most difficult to describe and could possibly be describing the keel line and rudder.
And lastly v 12 his mighty power or graceful proportions, ships are certainly graceful in whatever form they take, and they certainly are powerful. Whether or not the historian who wrote the book of Job, had seen visions of ships, we can never know for certain, but the descriptions described here do describe modern sea going vessels, God revealed something mighty that could live in the oceans, and could move about under their own steam, and the person who saw these things would not be able to distinguish what he saw as anything bur a living creature. Therefore lets not take the Bible lightly, men moved of God's Spirit tried to describe honestly to others the visions they were shown, to a world without the language of technology we take for granted in our age. The Bible believe it or not; is a very scientific book, and science itself can only confirm all the words God has spoken to man. What therefore is man that thou are mindful of him? Insignificant perhaps, but loved certainly, and mighty when the Spirit of God is with him.

Its just a few thoughts, but there is certainly a clear description of modern ships here, submarines, warships, and pleasure boats, and cruise liners. I love the bit about Leviathans scales.
