Thank you for the welcome. I am 40 years old very soon to be 41 (2 days) and have had a fascination with Photography form my youth. I remember saving every dime I could make delivering newspaper to buy a Nikon SLR. Unfortunately other things got in the way and choked out my ability to really pursue it in the long run. Namely a lack of cash and time. Now with digital photography the expenses are cut way down since I don't have to buy and process film. Instant gratification is awesome with the digital world as I can immediately see the results of my work. The digital darkroom is another awesome advantage of digital photography. The ability to manipulate images is limited only by your imagination. Since rediscovering photography I am having the time of my life. I love to go for long walks and do what I call picture hunting. Even my wife is enjoying it as we can go picture hunting together. It's some of the best time we get to spend together alone since we have three children and one grandchild all living in a three bedroom house. It can feel a bit crowded especially when they have friends over which is usually just about everyday. I look forward to seeing everyones work and I praise God that there is a place like this I will be able to share mine.

Looking forward to getting to know you better. Did you buy a Nikon DSLR?
No, That was way before they even thought of digital photography or personal computers. I would love to have a DSLR though. Just too expensive right now. God willing maybe one day I will but as of right now I have fujifilm finepix s3000 which sort of looks like a DSLR but is really just a point and shoot. It does have some degree of manual control but not much. Thank you for your welcome.
