Brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet you with love.
An off-chance private message from Pat on another photography forum has brought me to this board. My name is Carl and I rejoice in finding a board of fellowship, centered in Christ, that just happens to appreciate photography. I currently reside in Medford, Oregon, knowing full well that I am but a temporary resident in this world.
I spent 20 years in the US Submarine Service and have since traveled the country as my wife's employment led us. Since my military retirement, I completed my education, enjoyed a moment in time as a stock broker, enjoyed life in the retail golf world, and currently set up shop as the keeper of our home and Mr Mom to 3 English Bulldogs (Phoebe, T-Bone, and Porterhouse). I am an avid photographer, 3 years removed from film and actively pursuing the digital format and I speak fluent Photoshop. Some of my work may be viewed at my website (http://www.ohenry.smugmug.com). My other passion would be golf.
I came to the Lord as a teenager, became disillusioned by the churches and wandered off on my own for far too many years. While I never lost sight of the Lord, he did allow me the freedom to prove to myself that I can't do it alone and that I need Him in my life. Praise Him that he didn't allow me to continue my self-destructive path too long. Upon my return to faith, He not only rejoiced, but He loved me so strongly that it brought me to my knees in tears of joy. By His grace, I have been washed anew. Our God has a love for us that exceeds further than we can imagine.
It is my pleasure to walk with you in Christ and rejoice in His name. I look forward to getting to know all of you better.
Carl
It's God's wonderful grace that has brought you here, Carl! WELCOME[/color] Thanks for coming! And may our God bless your sojourn here! Please come to our New Every Morning folder - you'll find it is good fellowship. I live near Eureka, CA, so not terribly far from you.
Welcome Carl. Now I know who to ask when I have questions about Photo Shop. My photography guild uses Photo Shop. I have Photo Shop Elements 2 installed in my pc but primarily use Paint Shop Pro X
Wellcome to the site!
Do they still have O Henry candy bars??
Thank you Al and Etta Sue. Indeed, there are still Oh Henry candybars and one can still find the short stories of Oheny at the library ;D I hold no kin to either of the forementioned namesakes, although my middle name is Henry and at one time I was under the misguided thought that I had an interest in writing. In any case, I've used the moniker for almost 2 decades online and it's become almost second nature to me.
:welcome: ohenery! Nice to have you here! :)
:groupwave:
Oh, my! I'm such a "happy camper" today.
I'm so glad I stumbled across your site and then thought to write to you. A great big warm Canadian :welcome: to you. I'm really looking forward to getting to know you so much better in the coming days and months.
Again, :welcome: to our site!
Welcome Carl, from an American living in Japan! I spent some time at your site this morning. Oregon is beautiful and you've captured it well!
I look forward to fellowshipping with you here at CP.
In His Grip,
Kevin
Thanks for the warm welcomes!!!
Add another one! :welcome:
Woof Woof!
Me too, Welcome Carl from the sam place as Al Moak lives except two miles downhill.
Hey, welcome to the group over here...another face I recognize! :)
I hadn't realized or had forgotten that you were another Oregonian. I would have invited you to come over and go to the zoo elephant photo shoot with me! Next year, they plan on doing it again so you'll have to come along.
Sara
More warm welcomes (ya gotta love it!). Thank you all
Hi Sara...I think you're a fair piece north of me if I recall.
Yeah, but to hang out actually IN the elephant yard, couldn't you make it to the Portland zoo once a year?! :D

Yes, but tread lightly
