This seems to be an encouraging and edifying site for creative Christians and I am pleased to be a small part of it.
I have been intimately involved in photography since the mid 1980's when my youngest son and I bought our first SLR. We tracked and shot Halley's Comet.
The experience of slide competition in a local camera club was a great training ground. Slide shooting is very demanding.
I collected several used Pentax LX's and lots of macro equipment only to have every thing stolen when our home was robbed. My first Canon (RT) was purchased with the insurance check. It's still a great film camera.
Since then it has been an exciting ride on the digital train along with Photoshop.
My small business is called "The Fingerprints of God" as my only purpose is to glorify Him and His Creation. Portraits, landscapes, panoramas etc, - matting and framing are all done at home. An old dog can learn new tricks.
It's easy to record images of this rotten, corrupted world and the squalid side of humanity, but the bright, constructive and edifying POV is much more demanding.
