Hello all, it appears I had been accepted by the administration (does anyone ever get denied off the bat?) so thought I would post here and say hi. =)
Well, since this is the introduce yourself forum I suppose I should do just that. My name is Michael Farley, and I am a bible believing Christian, 25, married to my beautiful wife for 4 years. I am a retail manager...which is nice when it comes to buying lithium batteries as there is a huge markup! I believe my cost for 2 cr123's is around $3.99 from $12.99. Too bad there is little markup on film. ;)
Let's see, I have always had a huge respect for those who can take photos that stand out. I took a B&W photography course in college a few years back and loved it. Got to develop the film and print to 8x10s. Had full control over everything from the taking of the photo, to developing the print and using the various techniques we were taught. I have just decided to start with color, and am really a newbie. As a matter of fact, I'm still trying to figure which film to use...though I've got a list of recommended films:
Kodak infra-red B&W film (not color I know but still thought I'd try it out)
Fuji Velvia
Fuji NPH400
Kodak Portra
Let's see, have my own little blog where I'll be uploading my pictures too, as well as my other art. I do oil paintings but am really into watercolor. What else...have 3 dogs (2 yorkees and 1 rescued mix), a cat, and 2 birds so I typically refer to our home as 'the jungle'
Anyways, I think that'll do...the rest you can just ask. ;)
Hi Michael...
We had a problem before Christmas with members registering and I had to change that to this system that people have to be activated.
The problem is now though that some come in while I'm sleeping so they have to wait! LOL
Anyway, I try to activate them as soon as I can.
Great to see you here.
Click on the link in my signature for New Every Morning and that's where you'll get to meet many of the "regulars" on CP.

I just love this site, the more and more I play on it. ;D
Not sure if this is the place to do this, but by the description of the forum I took it as the place. If not, feel free to delete my post.
Well I finally finished setting up my blog (personal site). 56kers mind the gallery as many images are up to 200+k so loading time may be a bit long. :-\ Sorry, but it is what it is. =)
The site url is: http://www.thefloodgates.net -----No, I'm not being vain--it's simply that when I look at my life, my wonderful wife, a gorgeous home, and the mind to follow Him (all blessings He has given) I truly feel He has opened the floodgates.
To find the Gallery, in the navigation click Art Gallery. Then simply click the category you choose. =) Please, let me know what you think...ideally leave comments on the image itself but if you like feel free too do it here. Not the greatest of painters, and just started with photography so don't expect much.
Mike, your painting is amazing. I really like the "Country Church". I'm going to go back there and spend more time.
We have some artists on this site. Janet is wonderful. I hope you've also see her latest photo where she was teaching her seven year old granddaughter and the photo of the finished painting with Abby is there.
Some of the paintings can be seen here:

Thanks Mike!
See you in New Every Morning. I just posted a hymn in there.
I did see that beautiful landscape she did. What talent as and skill at such a young age. I'm off for the day...I till have my devotional and my studying to do.
Take care
Mike
