Title: Hello from Kentucky
Post by: love.bears.all on October 30, 2007, 12:38:23 PM
Hi everyone!  My name is Misty, and I'm fairly new to the photography business.  I'm searching for a site where I can get help from other photographers, without having to look at the "art" pictures posted on the forum I currently frequent.  Feel free to check out my website and let me know what you think.

WELCOME, MISTY!!!  I went to your website, but I didn't see any samples of your work.  Are they under the various categories such as "wedding," etc.?  Come on over to our Thoughts for the Week folder - it's our cafel/coffee/tea bar where we talk a lot.  Cmon in and tell us all about yourself, where you are, etc.

:groupwave:

A great big :welcome: to you, Misty, from up here north of the border in Ontario, Canada!

Great to have you and yes, you won't see any of the photos that you speak of here at Christian Photographers!

So, pull up a comfy chair and make yourself right at home here at

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome.  It's much appreciated, and just warms my heart.  I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner to say thank you.  Also, I appreciate the compliment on my photos.  Like I said, I have a lot to learn and hope you guys can help me with that process.

Misty, had a look at your site.  I see you leaning on a keyboard.  Do you sing?

That's a lovely photo of you.

Thank you Pat.  No, I don't sing.  I actually took that photo because I recently started keyboard lessons, and my instructor likes to have a picture of each of his students.  He generally just takes them with his point and shoot in his lesson building, but I decided to do one for him. ;)

I say I recently started, but actually I recently quit as well.  I found myself lacking the commitment to actually practice, so I gave my 1/2 hour to my son, who takes guitar from that instructor.  My daughter is taking keyboard as well, as is my best friend (who is like my sister) so it is kinda a family thing. lol

I posted in the family section, but this is my family  Just open the first album titled My Family.

I'm sitting here giggling at your post...  "You recently started but you recently quit as well!"  Well, that's too bad!  Oh well, maybe later.

I love playing the piano.

I was just down in Virginia.  I just came home on Monday and my friend's son and daughter-in-law have a piano and six children and I must have played for over 2 hours with those children calling out their favorites in the hymn books!  What a wonderful time we had!

I didn't hate playing, just didn't practice like I thought I should, so I decided I was wasting everyone's time, as well as my money, taking the lessons week after week.  He did say he was disappointed (even after he knew he wouldn't lose any money 'cause my son would fill the slot) because he felt I have "natural talent" and he hates to see me "throw it away"  blah, blah, yadda, yadda..anyway I believe he was sincere, just don't necessarily agree with him. :)

I think I would like to sing, if anything, but that's not a gift God blessed me with!!
