Some years ago, I decided to have a go at photographing my bathroom window, as every time I walked in, the lights in the windows across would create wonderful coloured patterns in the textured glass. I used a tele lens from near the bathroom door, to magnify the windows across the way. I think a two minute exposure was used in this instance with the camera firmly mounted on a tripod.
