Me, too! I wasn't as prepared for the cold weather as I should have been. As soon as the sun got low in the sky, the wind picked up and by the time I took this and walked all the way back to where we were parked, my extremeties were starting to feel numb. It hurt, too. I don't want to ever be that cold again. Live and learn! Wear the longies...be prepared! :idiot:
Yes, and be sure your head is covered! I forget the percentage, but a whole lot of body heat is lost through the head.
I love the title you chose.
Your picture is amazing! well done. Next time wear your longies! Or a skidoo suit.
Glad there was no frostbite involved. But it's a great shot. Worth a little pain, I think.

Kathleen-that is
gorgeous. Perfect timing...just curious-did you use a polarizer? It was worth the little pain and suspect you may have stayed longer if you were dressed warmer. Sometimes I think photographers push it a little for that last shot and usually when you do-you get the best ones, ;) :)
Thanks for all the c/c! I appreciate it very much.
Judy-What's a skidoo suit? I haven't heard of those.
Jeanne Lee-Yeah, I wasn't wearing a hat, either. I told you I wasn't prepared! For an outdoor photographer living in Idaho, I'm not well prepared for the cold. I need to invest in some really good sub-zero type apparel.
Barbarian-no frostbite, but my finger that had frostbite last year (not from shooting outdoors, but that's another long story) is VERY SENSATIVE to cold, now. Fortunately, I do have some decent gloves with liners. I need ones that keep the wind out, though.
Juanital-Yes, I used a polarizer. Also, a little secret...don't tell anyone, k? I did a little extra post-processing on this one to make it look darker and bluer than the actual image. I like how it turned out, even though it's not actually as I saw it that evening. Almost entered this one in the Best of 2009 challenge.
