Post by: juanital on April 24, 2009, 03:59:29 PM
My daughter text me and said to look outside, grab the camera and take pictures....I was in for a delight...This system was passing thru about 6:45 this morning....It's heading eastward...

Oh, my!  That looks threatening, for sure.  Great catch, juanital - your daughter sure was on the ball!

Thanks Gtoth and Jeanne...Do you think I should lighten it esp in the ground and surrounding areas? Haven't had much time for working a whole lot on photos :-\

Wow what skys.  John and I have driven truck (semi) in weather like that.  Never enjoyed that part of the job.

YOu have done a great job of capturing the changes.  Well done.

Were there any tornadoes from the system?

Juanital, my personal opinion - and it's just that, a personal opinion - is don't lighten anything.  The way they are now I can feel the threat of a storm and I'd imagine making anything lighter would eliminate or lessen that feeling.

I agree with Jeanne on this one!

I think the last one is my favorite.

Really I think I like the darker tone and the mood with it...Its just that sometimes what people want to say-but may not is-It would of been great to see more of the surroundings too...Thank you for the encouragement everyone... ;)

I like the last one also. I think it is because there are no buildings in it, just landscape.

I like them all as is.  The strength in the storm is in the darkness for me.  I like them all.  The ones with buildings give more of an ominous feeling as the people await this storm.

The underbelly of the clouds is quite beautiful in each case, the most dramatic is your second picture, but I like the mood of the first one best. To me watching a storm pass across the sky from a sheltered dry place to sit is one of the most wonderful experiences there is. Why the first one? Because that white/grey patch of cloud makes the darker part of the cloud to the left look even more threatening, its the contrast of the two that heightens the impact. Plus I like the tiny hint of civilization in the distance, a place to shelter from the storm in all that vast expanse of land and sky.

The second one appeals to me most, because of the great texture in the clouds.
