This immediately put a song into my head. I have it on tape in the van, but can't remember who sings it.
Could it be "Bridge over troubled waters?" Simon and Garfunkle? lol. ;)
No. It is a Christian song based on the verse.
Hey, Sue, did you ever figure out what song it was?
I truly love this photo, Chris. Just a wonderful scene and the verse goes so well with it. Oh, that we would all learn to leave our burdens with the Lord. It's a hard lesson. Sometimes we think we've done it but then realize that we're still carrying them.
I agree Pat, it is a great photograph. I've seen that bridge so many times on the TV, I often wonder what it would be like to see it in real life.
Anthony.
I can tell you! It is brilliant.. but the wind nearly blows you off your feet.. even on a sunny day! :)
is this in California Chris the Golden Gate or am I mistaken.?
Yes Marilyn, and we were followed all the way up there by an armed soldier, just because I had a camera bag on my back!
He never took his eyes off me.
Until I asked if he would mind if I photographed him. He said" yeah, sure!" hahaaaa
I will have to remember to bring the tape in from the van tomorrow. I play it often on my way to and from work.
I brought the tape case in tonight, and there is no web-site that I saw. I am not sure if the album is "FEAR NOT Songs of Life Collection" or if it is name of the artist. The tape was (if I remember correctly) aimed at the children's ministry to aid the learning of bible verses through song. I only had the money for one tape at the time, and wish I'd been able to get more as each verse is presented simply to music. The title of each song is also the first few words of the verse. In this case, the song is titled "Cast ty burden upon the Lord".
The song that struck me as I looked at the beautiful picture , on Sue's mentioning was...
......God has called you
He will not fail you (X3)
So trust in God
And obey Him .
The chorus is not as applicable as Chris's chosen verse but it does promise that when trust is placed in Our Father (He who knows the end from the begining) failure is not in His vocabulary or thinking with regard to His child.
John ( A Baker)
Thanks Chris.
Sometimes I feel like this..."suspended" between two worlds....that's how it is for us Christians.
Yes He does sustain us all and maintain us also. Like this bridge, painted and protected from all weathers.
Jenny
Our willing bridge to heaven's Throne is Jesus Christ! Thanks, Jenny - you made me think of it.
