Posting for Chris...
A grand edifice.
But full of Icons, and graven images.
But still very, very, beautiful,
Margit and I went inside after paying the monk, and took a couple of photos,
then Margit said "look up there" and on the wall a sign "Photography forbidden" oops! [/b]

I love these buildings. Nothing at all like this in U.S. We are a country that doesn't preserve the old...we tear down and build new buildings and structures...be it churches, bridges, or other structures. So sad. There is so much history in these structures.
You're sure right about that, Etta Sue. I was so distressed when they tore down the centerpiece of this town a few years back--the old hotel-- and now it's just an empty lot! The roof needed replaced, but the building was sound, of brick, and could have been used for many beneficial things for the community. Bah, humbug!!
That is certainly a beautiful structure, Chris!
Gorgious picture!
I love the framing by the tree limbs in this photo. They act as a veil making the photo seem more mysterious and forbidden.
Great composition in this shot.
Where was this taken? (I read the other posts but I think I may have missed the location.)
Jo, it's on the "neroburg" above Wiesbaden,
Thanks-
I'm going to go look at a map and see where it is.
Have a blessed day in Christ!
Sorry, lass . Margit just told me it's Neroberg, Wiesbaden, Germany. It's Berg not Burg!
Regards, Chris And Margit
Thanks for the correction.
Many blessings to you and yours.
