Chicken and Rice in a Bag
3-lb. fryer cut into serving pieces
1 cup raw long-grain converted rice
1 can (10 1/4oz) condensed cream of chicken
soup
2/3 cup water
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
Rinse chicken and pat dry, set aside. Combine rice, cream of chicken soup and water in your crock pot, stir well o mix in soup. Place chicken pieces in a see through roasting bag; add onion soup mix. Shake bag to coat chicken. Puncture 4 to 6 holes in bottom of bag. Fold top of bag over chicken and place in crock pot on top of rice. Cover and cook on Low setting 8-10 hours. Remove chicken pieces toa platter. serve with rice.

This sounds good and easy. And I'll bet it really smells good while cooking!!

Is it Uncle Ben's converted rice that you would use? ??? ???(..."CHRISTIAN rice...haha)....converted...get it??? ;D

Born again Rice make sure it is "Born Again". ;D ;D

I always turn to this site when I'm "stuck" for an idea for the evening meal.
Tonight we're going to have Marilyn's chicken receipe with the "Born again" rice..LOL
Norm reminds me its time to make Etta Sue's apple crisp again as well!
Chicken and Born Again Rice will be dinner tomorrow.

This is making me very hungry and it's nearly midnight here so I won't start cooking now.
My mother used to make a chicken casserole with Cambell's condensed mushroom soup and that tasted really delicious, so I'm sure this will too.
I've bought cook in the bag chickens but never tried the do it yourself idea.......It will be lovely and moist.
I am going to have a go.
